Monster's Ball is an award-winning 2001 Drama about a racist correctional officer, Hank Grotowski (Billy Bob Thornton), who has a torrid affair with the wife of a man on death row. While also dealing with his racist father (Peter Boyle) and unstable son (Heath Ledger), Hank is forced to confront his own racist tendencies. The movie was a critical success and earned Halle Berry as Academy Award for Best Actress.
