Monster Hunter 3 is an action role-playing video game developed by Capcom Production Studio 1 and published by Capcom for Nintendo Wii. Monster Hunter 3 is the third title in the series released for home consoles in North America. Originally intended for PS3, it was later made into a Nintendo Wii exclusive title. The game is rated T for Teen and it was released on April 20, 2010 in North America and April 23, 2010 in Europe. It is also known as Monster Hunter Tri or in Japan, as Monsutā Hantā Torai. The game also supports WiiSpeak and the players from all around the world can enjoy the Online Mode without having to pay any additional fees.
The basic premise behind the game is to play as a monster hunter who, through the completion of quests, can upgrade his weapons and armor. Many of these quests involve hunting down a variety of monsters. Sometimes the player has to slay the beast and gather different body parts; other times it has to weaken it and capture it with a trap.
About the Game
With Monster Hunter 3, Capcom intends to "return to basics" by re-evaluating the series from the ground up. The basic gameplay will remain the same, but some elements have been updated or improved upon. The game now features expanded AI and the monsters move around freely, meaning there are fewer scripted events. The graphics have, of course, been upgraded and there are a number of new environments to explore, including a few underwater locations. The game features two multiplayer options: Offline Co-Op for up to two players and Online Co-Op for up to four players.
During his adventure the player can trade the items he finds, upgrade his weapons and armor and collect herbs, honey, seeds, ore, etc. Sometimes these items can be found on the species the player hunts. Since the action in the game takes place in the past, the player should expect to fight against monsters using: axes, bows, hammers and swords. These weapons will enhance the gameplay even more since most of them require close ranged combat.
