Monster.com is a job search engine powered by companies that pay to list job postings and search resumes. It also offers “Career Tools”, like “Career Benchmarking”, where you can compare yourself to others in your field, as well as an advice section.
History
Jeff Taylor began the site in 1994 as one of the earliest registered domains on the web according to Karen Lisnyj of the New Jersey Technology Council. He notes in an interview with Internetevolution.com that he left in 2005 with Monster in 34 countries and robust shape. Today, Monster operates more than its main job search site; it runs other sites like the scholarship search page Fastweb.com and work-oriented Internet community The Apple for teachers, according to its websites.
