Molly Shannon

Molly Shannon is an American film and television actress starring in Saturday Night Live and films such as Serendipity, Shallow Hal, Night at the Roxbury, Year of the Dog and Evan Almighty.

Shannon joined SNL in 1995, and played various characters. She is best known for her role as the nerdy Catholic school girl, Mary Katharine Gallagher. In 1999, this skit was turned into the movie Superstar, and starred Shannon as her SNL character who dreams of super stardom. In 2001, after becoming the shows longest-serving female cast member, Shannon left SNL to concentrate on her movie career.
