• Saturday Night Live

  Shannon joined SNL in 1995, and played various characters. She is best known for her role as the nerdy Catholic school girl, Mary Katharine Gallagher. In 1999, this skit was turned into the movie Superstar, and starred Shannon as her SNL character who dreams of super stardom. In 2001, after becoming the shows longest-serving female cast member, Shannon left SNL to concentrate on her movie career.
