  • Moises Alou is a star outfiedler for Major League Baseball's New York Mets. He is the son of former baseball player and manager Felipe Alou. He is widely regarded as one of the best hitters in baseball with Six All-Star Appearances and two Silver Slugger Awards in 1994 and 1998.
  • Early Life

    Moises Rojas Alou was born in Atlanta, Georgia on July 26, 1990. He would attend Canada College]] in California where he would develop into an excellent College Prospect. In 1986, he would be drafted with the second pick in the Major League Baseball Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
  • Pro Career

    Alou would make his major league debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates on July 26, 1990. He would then be traded to the Montreal Expos would he would be managed by his father Felipe Alou. He would establish himself as an elite hitter in the game. He would be selected to the All-Star Game in 1994. In 1997, he would sign as a free agent with the Florida Marlins would he would help the team win their first World Series. He would then be traded to the Houston Astros in the infamous break up of the Championship Marlins team. He would continue his torrid hitting in Houston, where he would hit .355 in 2000, and .331 in 2001. He would sign as a free agent with the Chicago Cubs in 2001. He would help lead the Cubs to the National League Championship Series where he would be involved in the infamous [[Steve Bartman fan interference play. In 2006, he would sign a one-year contract with the New York Mets, and in 2008 the team would pick up the option. In 2008, he was injured during a spring training game and is scheduled to have hernia surgery March 6, 2008. Alou is expected to miss four to six weeks recovering.
