  • Mohammad Khatami is a scholar and politician born in Iran. He served as President of Iran from August 2, 1997, until he was succeeded by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in August 2, 2005. Recently, he has become a spokesman for reformist candidates in the upcoming Iran Election 2008.

    Former Iranian President Khatami has decided to pull-out of the upcoming presidential election in Iran. The move is intended to avoid splitting the pro-reform vote.
