Mogwai is a post-rock band formed in Scotland in 1995. Their compositional style and use of guitar effects and often garners comparisons to sub-genres such as math rock, art rock, and shoegaze. Mogwai has often been openly critical about other artists, including one-off digs against Annie Lennox, Test Icicles, and James Blunt. They also had a long-standing feud with Blur, going so far as to print t-shirts that read, "blur: are shite".Quotes
"(The name Mogwai) has no significant meaning and we always intended on getting a better one, but like a lot of other things we never got round to it." -Guitarist Stuart Braithwaite-
