Moe the Chimp

On June 27, 2008, a tame chimpanzee named Moe escaped from his cage at the Jungle Exotics animal sanctuary near Devore, California. Possible Sighting

Grace Carlos Hilario, a hiker who was lost for two days in the San Bernardino Mountains in mid-July reported seeing a "monkey" in the forest. Hilario reportedly did not have prior knowledge about Moe's disappearance and was lucid when she was rescued about 20 miles from the Jungle Exotics sanctuary.SGV Tribune: Hiker may have seen Moe (July 14, 2008)
