  • Mo Vaughn is a former Major League Baseball player, who played for the Boston Red Sox, [[Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim| Anaheim Angels]] and New York Mets before retiring in 2003. Vaughn had his best days early in his career, when he was prominently featured in the heart of the Red Sox batting order in the mid 1990s.
  • Career

    Vaughn had several very successful years with the Boston Red Sox, starting in 1993 when he hit 29 home runs and more than 100 RBIs. In 1995, Vaughn won the American League MVP award. Vaughn batted better than .315 between 1996-1998, his final year with the club. In 1999, Vaughn signed a large six-year contract with the Anaheim Angels worth $88 million. Vaughn never performed to expectations in Anaheim, suffering a series of injuries. He was traded to the New York Mets for the 2002 season for pitcher Kevin Appier. Vaughn continued to disappoint management and fans in New York, never playing at the level he achieved in Boston. Vaughn retired from baseball in 2003.
