Career
Mississippi John Hurt grew up playing Blues music, but he got his big break when he won a fiddling contest in 1928. Hurt then recorded his first single "Monday Morning Blues" which became a local success. While he did not achieve world wide stardom during his lifetime, he is credited for pioneering a new style in folk and blues. -
