An Air Force B-52 Bomber which crashed near Thule Air Force Base in Greenland on January 21, 1968, was carrying four hydrogen bombs, only three of which were recovered. An original report claimed that all four nuclear warheads had disintegrated in consequence of the plane's crash. However, declassified documents revealed that one H-bomb remained missing after a fruitless search conducted by the United States around April 1968.
