  • 47-year-old Miriam Sakewitz was charged in 2007 with animal neglect and tampering with physical evidence, when she broke in to a police facility and stole back 140 of the nearly 250 rabbits that were found in her home. Some of the rabbits found in her home were dead and being kept in a freezer.

    On June 16, 2009, Sakewitz was found in a hotel room with eight adult and five baby rabbits. She had had been ordered by an Oregon judge to abstain from owning pets for five years; this violation led to her arrest.http://www.katu.com/news/local/48262432.html
