The Minnesota Vikings are a National Football League team that plays in the Northern Division of the NFC. They played in the western conference from 1961 to 1979, the NFC Central from 1970 to 2001 and the NFC North since 2002. The Vikings play their home games at Mall of America Field located at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 2009, Brett Favre became the starting quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings in his first year with the team and his 19th season in the NFL. After a bad finish to the 2008 team and an injured shoulder, there were questions as to whether Favre would be productive for an entire season. Favre started the season slowly. Despite completing a high percentage of his passes, his yardage was low. From the fourth through the sixth game of the season, he completed nearly 75 percent of his passes for 7 touchdowns and just one interception. He turned 40 on October 10 and continue to play at a high level as the Vikings got off to a 10-1 start. The Vikings lost three of their final 5 games but Favre continued to play well. He finished the season with his highest completion percentage in a season, second most yards with 4,202 in a highest and by far his highest quarterback rating in a season.
