A miniature horse, as the name suggests, is a smaller version of a standard horse.

The miniature horse traces its lineage to the Shetland pony, Dartmoor pony and various larger horse breeds. Friendly Equines

The miniature is usually kept as a family pet, but can be utilized for carting, petting zoos and as a service animal for people with disabilities.
