  • The Mini E is the electric version of BMW's popular Mini automobile. Making its United States debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November of 2008, the Mini E can travel over 240 kilometers on a single charge of its batteries by using a regenerative braking system, which uses kinetic energy produced during braking to recharge the batteries. BMW will launch 500 Mini Es in the US in 2009, to be leased by users in California, New York and New Jersey for one year and then returned to BMW for testing.Economic Times: BMW MINI says the E-word (November 6, 2008)
