  • Early Life

    Milton Obelle Bradley was born in Harbor City, California, on April 15, 1978. He attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School. In 1996, Bradley was selected by the Montreal Expos in the second round of the MLB amateur draft.
  • Pro Career

    On July 19, 2000, Bradley made his MLB debut with the Montreal Expos. Bradley has played for several teams throughout his career, including the Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland Athletics, San Diego Padres and Texas Rangers. In 2007, he played in 19 games for the Athletics and 42 games for the San Diego Padres. He finished the season with a .313 batting average and 30 runs batted in for the Padres. In 2008, he was selected to the American League All-Star team. It was his first ever selection to the game.

    Center fielder Milton Bradley has enjoyed a successful Major League Baseball career, but has been at the heart of several bizarre controversies. Although fault or blame can be debated, each incident has been marked by his inability to deal with his temper.

    In 2004, after being ejected, Bradley responded by throwing a bag of baseballs onto the field. He was suspended for four games.

    On September 28, 2004, Bradley was heckled by fans during the game. When the rowdy fans threw a water bottle at Bradley, he responded by walking back to the area and throwing the bottle back at their feet.

    In 2007, in the midst of a playoff run with the Padres, Bradley got into a heated argument with referee Mike Winters. When manager Bud Black tried to separate the two, Bradley suffered a season ending injury to his knee, tearing his anterior cruciate ligament.
