Milli Vanilli was a German pop music duo who's singles "Girl You Know It's True," ""Baby Don't Forget My Number" and "Blame It On The Rain" helped them sell millions of albums.
In 1990, the duo's career came to an abrupt end when it was revealed that Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus did not sing on their album. In the aftermath, their Best New Artist Grammy Award was taken away.
Controversy
During a live performance in 1990, a pre-recorded track containing music and vocals began to skip. Afterwards, the legitimacy of the duo came into question. Shortly after, the duo's producer, Frank Farian, admitted to the press that Morvan and Pilatus did not actually sing on their album. The vocal parts heard were sung by Charles Shaw, John Davis, Brad Howell sisters Jodie and Linda Rocco.
