Milan Jurcina is a professional hockey player for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League.
Career Highlights
Jurcina began his career playing junior hockey in the Czech Republic and playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League with the Halifax Mooseheads. He was then drafted 241st overall in the 2001 NHL Draft by the Boston Bruins. After the draft Jurcina spent two seasons with the Bruins American Hockey League affiliate, the Providence Bruins, before making his NHL debut in 2005. The following year, Jurcina joined Team Slovakia in the 2006 Winter Olympics. He was then traded on February 1, 2007, to the Washington Capitals. Following the season, Jurcina renewed his contract with the Capitals for two additional seasons.
