Mike White is a screenwriter, actor and producer. He began his career as a writer on the teen soap Dawson's Creek in 1998. He then went on to pen scripts for the programs Freaks and Geeks, Pasdena and Cracking Up. His first feature success came with the Jack Black vehicles School of Rock and Nacho Libre. White has gone on to writer the indie films Year of the Dog and Gentlemen Broncos.
White often appears in the films he writes as well as other projects. He has played roles in The Good Girl, Orange County and the ABC drama Pushing Daisies. In 2009, Mike White and his father Mel White appeared on the reality show The Amazing Race.
