  • College Football Career

    Prior to playing in the NFL, Nugent played college football with the Ohio State Buckeyes in the NCAA. He made 81.8% of field goals, scoring on 72 of 88 attempts. Including a career-best 55-yard field goal, Nugent tied or broke 22 Buckeyes school records. After college, Nugent was selected 47th overall in the 2005 NFL draft by the New York Jets.
  • NFL Career

    Nugent joined the Jets for his professional debut in 2005, playing all regular season 16 games and scoring on 22 of 28 field goals, plus making all 24 point-after attempts. In 2006, he recorded one of his statistically best seasons, making 88.9% of his field goals and 97.1% of PATs, scoring on 24 field goals and 34 PATs. After continuing as a starter with the Jets in 2007, Nugent played in only one game with the team in 2008.
