Mike Lowell is a third baseman for the Boston Red Sox.
Early Life
Michael Averett Lowell was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on February 24, 1974. He would attend high school at Coral Gables Senior High School]] in Florida. He would than move on to Florida International University where he earned an athletic scholarship.
Pro Career
Lowell would be drafted in the twentieth round by the New York Yankees in the 1995 Major League Baseball Draft. He would make his Major League debut on September 13, 1998. In 1999, he would be traded to the Florida Marlins, where he would help lead the team to a World Series title in 2003. In 2005, Lowell would be traded to the Boston Red Sox with Josh Beckett and Guillermo Mota for Hanley Ramirez,Anibal Sanchez, Harvey Garcia, and Jesus Delgago. In 2007 he would lead the Red Sox to a World Series, along the way picking up the 2007 World Series Most Valuable Player
