Mike Lamb

  • Mike Lamb is an infielder for the Minnesota Twins. During his collegiate career at Cal State Fullerton, the Twins selected lamb in the 31st round of the 1996 amateur draft. Lamb declined to sign with the Twins, and year later he was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 7th round of the 1997 draft. Lamb signed with the Rangers on June 6, 1997. Lamb made his major league debut for the Rangers on April 23, 2000. After four years in with the Rangers, Lamb was sent to the New York Yankees in exchange for Jose Garcia. Lamb never played for the Yankees however, as he was traded to the Houston Astros the following month for Juan DeLeon. Lamb was a member of the Astros 2005 World Series team. Following the 2007 season lamb signed a free agent contract to join the Twins, the team that originally drafted him in 1996.

    Lamb is a solid line-drive hitter, with power against righties. Lamb also hits well coming off the bench.[1]
  • Weaknesses

    Lamb doesn't hit for power against lefties, and he is only adequate defensively.[1]
