    Komisarek was selected seventh overall by the Montreal Canadiens during the first round of the 2001 NHL entry draft. He split the next three seasons between playing for the Canadiens and the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League, playing in the AHL All-Star Game. He became a full time member of the Canadiens roster for the 2005-2006 season.
