• Previous Accomplishments

  Johanns got his start in local politics in the Lincoln, Nebraska area, serving on the city council and being elected mayor. Johanns also served as Nebraska's 38th governor. The son of a dairy farmer, Johanns was appointed as secretary of the USDA on January 21, 2005.
