Career Highlights
Green began his professional career with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League in 2000. He was then drafted 29th overall in the 2004 NHL Draft by the Washington Capitals. The following year Green made his NHL debut with the Capitals, on his 20th birthday, October 12 2005. He split his first season between the NHL and the Capitals American Hockey League affiliate, the Hershey Bears. That same year, 2005, Green signed an entry level contract with the Capitals for three years. He was also selected for the NHL Young Stars Game in 2007, where he scored three assists.
