Prior to playing in the NFL, Hoff played college football with the Iowa Hawkeyes in the NCAA. Playing from 1994 to 1997, he started in each game during his senior season, helping the team rank eighth in rush offense in the country. NFL Career

Hoff made his professional debut with the Bengals in 1998, playing in 10 games. He was limited during his first two seasons following a torn ligament in his left knee. On March 8, 2004, Hoff signed as a free agent with the San Diego Chargers. He continued as a starter, playing in each of the 16 regular season games each season.
