Football Career
Prior to playing professionally, Gandy played college football with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the NCAA. After redshirting in 1999, he made 26 consecutive starts, logging over 300 playing minutes at right guard during his junior season alone. After college, Gandy was selected 68th overall in the 2001 NFL draft by the Chicago Bears. He made his NFL debut with the Bears in 2002, playing in 11 games that year. After two additional seasons with the Bears, he was released on November 8, 2004. Gandy singed with the Buffalo Bills prior to the 2005 season, starting in all 16 regular season games over the next two years with the team.
