Mike Bibby is a Guard for the Atlanta Hawks. He is widely recognized as one of the fiercest competitors in the NBA with effective leadership skills, and all-around game. In his career, he has won an NCAA National Championship with the Arizona Wildcats Basketball team, and also helped lead the Sacramento Kings to the Western Conference Finals.
Early Life
Michael Bibby was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey on May 13, 1978. He is the son of former NBA player and coach Henry Bibby. He attended Shadow Mountain High School in Arizona, and then attended college at the University of Arizona. In his first year at the University, he would lead the Wildcats to the 1997 NCAA Championship and along the way win the Pac-10 Player of the Year, and be named First Team All-American.
Pro Career
Bibby was selected with the second pick in the 1998 draft by the Vancouver Grizzlies. He would quickly establish himself an elite player and be named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. In 2001 he was traded along with Brent Price to the Sacramento Kings in exchange for guards Jason Williams and Nick Anderson. During his years with the Kings he helped transform the team to Championship contenders, helping them reach the Western Conference Finals in 2002, where they would lose to the eventual Champions, the Los Angeles Lakers. In 2008, he was traded to the Atlanta Hawks for Lorenzen Wright,, Anthony Johnson, Tyronn Lue,Shelden Williams and a second round pick in the 2008 draft.
