"Migrant Mother" is an iconic American black-and-white photograph taken by photographer Dorothea Lange in 1936 in Nipoma, California. The photograph portrays a mother, later identified as Florence Owens Thompson, and three of her seven children. The photo became one of the most prized images of the Great Depression era.
