Plot Synopsis
Middlesex is a novel about the coming-of-age of Calliope Stephanides, an intersexed Greek-American in Detroit, Michigan. The story is narrated by the adult version of Stephanides and recounts the part of his life he spent as a girl and his journey to discover his real self.
