Microsoft Windows is the most widely used computer operating system in the world today. Currently the main versions in use are Windows XP, and Windows Vista.
Windows 7 is under development, and is available in a beta test version.
Windows was originally introduced back in 1985, as an add-on to MS-DOS. Major releases of the operating system have included Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows 2000.
