How Licensing Works
Licensing gives you the right to run a specific title(s) of software. There are several versions of licensing agreements that can help all types of businesses. To get into the entry level licensing program called Open Business you only need to purchase 5 licenses. Once you receive your agreement number you can purchase as few as one license. This agreement last for two years. If your looking to receive the license with support features then you can purchase the license with whats called software assurance. Larger business receive more support features than smaller ones and there are also licensing agreements for charity, academic and government agencies. http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/about-licensing/how-volume-licensing-works.aspx
