Michelle Stafford is an actress from the daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless. She plays Phyllis Summers Newman, originally thought to be a temporary character, though she has now appeared on the show since 1994, appearing in over five hundred and twenty episodes. Stafford also played a dual role from December 2006 to February 2007 as Sheila.

Early Years
Stafford was born in Chicago, Illinois. Her father was a lawyer and her mother was an executive with Universal Studios. After graduating high school, Stafford was diagnosed with a brain tumor, requiring surgery. After recovering, she began modeling, traveling to Japan, France, and Italy. Once returning to the United States to pursue acting, Stafford appeared in the 1990 teen soap opera Tribes.Awards
Stafford won her first Daytime Emmy award for Best Supporting Actress in 1997, after being with The Young and the Restless for only two years. She won her second Daytime Emmy in 2004 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a drama series and was also nominated in 2005 and 2007. She has won three Soap Opera Digest Awards and received nominations for two others.
