Actress Michelle Rodriguez debuted in the 2000 independent film Girlfight. Her performance won critical accolades from the National Board of Review, Independent Spirit Awards and Gotham Awards. Rodriguez had a role in The Fast and the Furious and played "Ana Lucia Cortez" Lost.

Rodriguez, whose personal life is often featured in tabloids, reportedly stirred up trouble at the events leading up to her friend/manager's April 2009 wedding. In 2004, she voiced the part of a marine in the video game Halo 2, and from 2005 to 2006, she appeared as Ana Lucia Cortez on the ABC television series Lost. Since her time on Lost, Rodriguez has filmed a part in James Cameron's Avatar and The Fast and the Furious 4.

Rodriguez's personal life and legal troubles have made her a tabloid regular. In July 2006, she admitted in an interview with Cosmopolitan that she had "experimented with both sexes" and, since 2002, has been in and out of prison for misdemeanor charges related to drunk driving arrests.
