Michelle Obama appeared on The Colbert Report on April 15, 2008, to discuss the presidential campaign of her husband, Barack Obama. Colbert led off the interview with a question on the latest media controversy surrounding the campaign: “Everybody knows you and your husband are elitists," Colbert quipped. "Tell me about your elite upbringing on the South Side of Chicago. How many silver spoons in your mouth?” Colbert is filming in Philadelphia during the week leading up the April 22 Pennsylvania Primary.
