Sci-Fi Favorite
Early in her career, Forbes made her mark with science fiction fans as the combative Ensign Ro Laren on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Producers wanted to spin her character off into the show Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, but she declined, and also turned down the opportunity to star in Star Trek: Voyager. She returned to science fiction in the 1996 John Carpenter film Escape From L.A.. Her role as Admiral Cain in the Sci-Fi Channel's critically acclaimed Battlestar Galactica reunited her with creator Ron Moore, who had been a writer and co-producer on Star Trek: The Next Generation.
