In January 2009, the 11-year-old Lagravere became the youngest matador ever to kill young six bulls in a single bullfight. Lagravere achieved the feat during a bullfight in Merida, Mexico. There are no age restrictions for bullfighters in Mexico, but French bullfighters must be at least 16 years old. French citizens have filed legal complaints claiming that Lagravere's demonstrations broke child labor laws. Although Lagravere did not kill any bulls during his French tour, in normal fights, the toreador is expected to kill the bull.
