  • Michele Bachmann is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing the 6th Congressional District of Minnesota. She is the first Republican woman in the state to be elected to Congress.

    During a radio interview on June 17, 2009, the Congresswoman stated that she would not fill out the 2010 Census, although it is required by law.     In April 2009, Bachmann suggested that there was link between the swine flu outbreak and Democratic control of the U.S. government.   • 2008 Republican Convention Speech

    On March 15, 2008 Bachmann spoke at a Republican convention and made a series of controversial statements. She implied that Senator John McCain's nomination as a presidential candidate in 2008 was a constructed by the media and not popular will. She also stated that "God has not abandoned" American efforts in Iraq, and that global warming is a hoax.
