Michael Turner

Michael Turner is an American comic book artist, writer, and publisher. Turner died on Friday, June 27, 2008, after an eight-year battle with cancer at the age of 37.

Michael Turner created the bestselling Fathom while illustrating for Top Cow Productions in the late 1990s. The series chronicles the adventures of a marine biologist, Aspen, who gains the power to control water.

In 2000, Turner was diagnosed with cancer, but continued to work, establishing Aspen MLT to publish his own creations.

Four years later, he produced cover art for Supergirl, Superman, The Flash, and most notably to the Identity Crisis storyline.

Turner has since done work for Marvel as well, drawing covers for the "Civil War" storyline and both Wolverine:Origins and Ultimate Wolverine titles.
