Michael Kors is an American fashion designer who launched a high end clothing line in 1981 by the same name. Kors is famous for his womens wear line and handbag collection, as well as his role as judge on the hit reality show Project Runway.

The Kors' Journey
Kors studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and shortly after launched his womens wear line at high end department stores such as Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus. In 1997, Kors went to work for French fashion house Celine as creative director and six years later left to focus on expanding his brand to a menswear line. In addition to department stores, Kors has collection boutiques in Beverly Hills and New York City.
Kors Goes Hollywood
Celebrities are attracted to Kors' collections. Actresses Joan Allen and Jennifer Garner both wore custom gowns by Kors at the Academy Awards in 2006. His clothing can also be seen as part of the wardrobe in films such as Possession, Bandits, and The Thomas Crown Affair.
