According to Jackson's will, which was made public days after his June 25, 2009, death, attorney John Branca, accountant Barry Siegel and friend John McClain would be co-executors of the estate and trust.

Immediately following his death, Katherine and Joseph Jackson secured their late-son's estate and his three children: Prince Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., Prince Prince Michael Jackson II, and Paris-Michael Katharine Jackson. On July 1, 2009 John Branca filed the will in a Los Angeles Court.
