Quotes from sentencing
In making a statement of remorse prior to sentencing, Barrett said the following to Andrews in the courtroom:
- "There are no words to tell Ms. Andrews how sorry I am for what I've done to her," he said. "I hope someday she can forgive me."
Earlier, Andrews asked for the strongest punishment allowable under the law, which would have been five years, stating:
- " "You violated me and you violated all women ... You are a sexual predator, a sexual deviant and they should lock you up."
