On October 20, 2009, the Miami Heat picked up the third-year option on Beasley. During 2009-09 season he played 81 games and had 19 starts. He also averaged 13.9 points and 5.4 rebounds. [1]

Beasley started as a freshman at Kansas State University in fall of 2007. He ranked fourth in the country for average points per game at 25.7 points. Beasley also ranked first in rebounds with 12.6 rebounds per game. Fined by the NBA
On September 18, 2008, Beasley was fined $50,000 by the NBA for his involvement in the disturbance during the Rookie transition program. During the event Beasley attended a party with two women. Investigators said the room also had the scent of Marijuana in the air. When asked to cooperate with the investigation, Beasley was unhelpful. NBA Rookies Mario Chalmers and Darrell Arthur were also involved in the incident.
