  • Miami Dolphins players Ronnie Brown, Vernon Carey and Ikechuku Ndukwe were each fined $10,000 by the NFL for performing the cupid shuffle line dance after a touchdown. The touchdown came during the October 5, 2008, game in which the Dolphins defeated the San Diego Chargers 17 to 10.
  • Planned Celebration

    The players reportedly practiced the dance during a October 3, 2008, team practice. Jake Long originally practiced the moves, but declined to participate in the dance at the game to avoid a fine. Brown said that they were just having fun, but that the fine was too much and enough to keep him from doing it again.
