Mewelde Moore

Professional football running back Mewelde Moore plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League.

Football Career

Before joining the NFL, Moore played college football with the Tulane Green Wave in the NCAA. He finished his career with 6,505 all-purpose yards, becoming the second player in NCAA history to record over 4,000 rushing and 2,000 receiving yards in their career. After college, Moore was selected 119th overall in the 2004 NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings. He made his professional debut that same year, playing 10 games and recording 379 rushing yards. He continued with the Vikings for three additional seasons, before signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers on March 3, 2008. Moore broke-out after joining the Steelers, recording 588 rushing and 320 receiving yards for a total of six touchdowns to help the Steelers reach Super Bowl XLIII.NFL.com: Mewelde Moore
