Controls
- Note: This guide uses the default control scheme. The options menu allows you to switch the functions of the A and B buttons, and the - and + buttons.
- Wii Remote: Use this to aim the blaster and determine where you're facing. Keep it pointed at the screen at all times, and use the targeting reticule to aim your shots. You will also have to use the motion detection to interact with many of the control panels and other items in the game. You'll be prompted to move the controller when this happens. You can also jiggle the Wii Remote upwards while in Morph Ball mode to hop a short distance, about the same as a Bomb Jump.
- Nunchuk: You'll use the motion sensitivity in the Nunchuk primarily to use the Grapple Lasso and Grapple Voltage. Thrust it at the screen when you're locked on to a suitable target to activate the Grapples.
- Analog Stick: This moves Samus around, obviously enough. Tilt it in the direction you want to go, and Samus will head in that direction.
- A: This button's going to get the biggest work out. The A button fires Samus's primary weapon. Tap the button to fire single shots, and hold it to charge a larger blast. It's also used to initiate interactions with most of the control panels in the game, including the hand scanners, switches, and touch screens. In Morph Ball mode, A drops bombs, which you can use to break barriers, attack enemies, and jump over obstacles.
- B: Use B to jump and double jump. When locked on to a target, pressing B while tilting the Analog Stick to the right or left will make Samus hop to the side quickly in a dodge. In Morph Ball mode, B activates the Boost Ball. Hold B to charge, then release to send Samus going at high speed.
- Z: Holding Z locks Samus on to a target. Use this to keep track of enemies while in combat, and to scan things in the Scan Visor. You can also use it with the Command Visor to give orders to the gun ship. In Morph Ball mode, Z activates the Spider Ball. Hold the button down to latch on to magnetic rails throughout the game and climb them.
- C: Switches Samus between normal mode and Morph Ball mode.
- -: Hold the - button down and a menu will come up. Point the cursor at one of the four sections of the screen then let go of the button to select one of the four visors: Scan Visor at the top, Command Visor at the bottom right, X-Ray Visor at the bottom left, or Combat Visor in the middle. When you're using any of the visors besides the Combat Visor, tapping the - button will return you to the Combat Visor.
- +: Activates the Hypermode. Hold the button down, and Samus will sacrifice an Energy Tank to go into Hypermode, increasing her firepower considerably. Be careful while in Hypermode: If the bar at the top of the screen turns red then reaches full, you'll get a Game Over as Samus becomes completely corrupted. After 25 seconds, Hypermode automatically shuts off. To switch it off manually, just hold the + button while already in Hypermode.
- 1: The 1 button pauses the game, and lets you access the map, inventory, and logs.

General Tips
- Scan everything. Scanning the objects and enemies in the game will give you everything from tips to story background. The key to beating most of the bosses lies in scanning them to learn about their weak points, and you'll have to scan each form individually.
- Though it's tempting, the charged shot isn't always the best strategy. Often, sending a volley of rapid shots gives you a better chance of hitting your target, particularly if your target is a small point on an otherwise invincible monster (see the Berserker Lord fight).
- Don't worry about conserving ammunition. If you expend missiles, chances are the enemies you blow up will drop some more for you.
- Scan everything.
- Learn to jump-dodge early. To jump-dodge, move the analog stick to either the left or the right, and hit B to jump-dodge. Hit the button twice to dodge further. This is crucial for getting out of some of the quicker attacks, and getting the drop on the few enemies who're vulnerable from behind.
- When in doubt, go into Hypermode. There's almost nothing in the game short of a boss that'll survive if you go into Hypermode. Just be careful not to let yourself be overrun with the corruption, or else it's game over. If you see the meter getting too high, vent Phazon by firing the cannon or using the Hyperball once you have it.
- Scan everything.
- Once you get the Grapple Voltage, you can use certain enemies to refill your energy tanks. With any of the regular enemies that you can grapple, such as the Shield Pirates and the Phaz-Ing, throw the Grapple Lasso at them like you normally would, then pull back on the Analog Stick to drain energy from them.
- Learn to multitask early when it comes to enemies. Just because you're locked onto one doesn't mean the others are going to leave you alone. With the Wii Remote, you can even fire on the other enemies around while you're locked onto just one.
- Learn to use the Screw Attack as an actual attack. Though you'll mainly use it for jumping between large gaps, while you're using it you're invincible, and anything that touches you will take a ton of damage. In fact, the majority of enemies will die from one shot of the Screw Attack.
- Don't forget about the Command Visor. Remember that any time you can see the sky once you get the missile upgrade, you can call in an air strike and obliterate everything in your immediate area.
- Scan everything. This can't be stressed enough. You should enter just about every new room you find with the Scan Visor on, and immediately scan anything that shows up in red or blue while you're in the visor.

Landing
- After the introductory cutscene, you'll begin the game in Samus's gunship, at the controls. Look around, and familiarize yourself with the cockpit. The console in front of you will be blinking red, so put the cursor over it and hit A to activate it. Next, a module at the top of the screen will start blinking red. Hit A on it, then match the symbols that appear by moving Samus's hand over each and hitting A.
- After that's done, a button to your left will begin blinking. Select it, then when prompted push the Wii Remote toward the screen to activate your thrusters.

On The Olympus
- After you've landed, you'll find yourself in Docking Bay 5. Now's a good time to get acquainted with the controls. As you step forward, you'll be asked to shoot several targets. Simply move the targeting cursor over them, and hit A to shoot them. After you do, a trooper will give you Admiral Dane's location.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - GFS Olympus - To the Control Room (Time: 4:25)
- To the right of the troopers is a pad that activates a training exercise. The object here is to repeatedly hit the targets, juggling them in the air. You get a token for unlocking hidden extras, but nothing that affects gameplay, so try it if you wish. If not, head to the door on the north side of the room, up the ramp. Shoot it to open it, then head through.
- In this room, if you scan around, you'll find the access ramps are malfunctioning. On the east end of the room, you'll see two targets jutting out of the wall. Shoot them with a charged shot to bring the ramps up. Go up them, and head through the door.
- The door in this room is a little trickier. In the pillar in the middle, you'll find a terminal you can interact with. Press A to open up the terminal. Select the center portion to get the code, or you can hit the buttons on the other sides to learn some interesting things about the setting. Once you have the code, enter it at the small console next to the locked door, then head through.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - GFS Olympus - Space Pirates (Time: 3:58)
- You'll spot another bounty hunter, Ghor, getting scanned. Wait until he's done, then go to the left of the door into the scanning room. Hit A, then pull the Wii Remote toward you, turn it counterclockwise, then push it back toward the screen to open the door. You'll be prompted to interact with a command terminal. Press A to initiate the test. Once it's complete, you can head through. Open the exit door the same way you opened the entrance, then go through the door into the next room.
- Head down the hallway, and use B to jump out of the small pit to the other side. There isn't much here, so just head on through the next door.
- Here, you'll find a hand-scanner just inside the door. Interact with it using A to activate the elevator, then step into the hologram in the center to raise it, then head through the door at the top.
- Head through this room, and go through the door on the west side. You'll see a small enclosed corridor on the ease side of the room, but you can't get into it yet.
- In this room, head forward, then go up the ramps on either side of the room. If you try to go to the northern exit, the trooper will tell you have to save before continuing. Go to the southern exit of the room to find a hallway, with the save point behind the door hidden behind some destructible crates on the west side of the hallway. The far door is blocked off.
- Once you've saved, head back to the Flag Bridge, and talk to the trooper. He'll move, and you can continue on to the briefing room. Head through the door, down the hallway, and go into the briefing room. Once you step through, a cutscene will start, and be interrupted by a Space Pirate attack.
- After the cutscene, head out the door, and back to the Flag Bridge. Admiral Dane will tell you to get back to your ship. Head through the door to the Flag Bridge Access, and an explosion will open up the walkway that was blocked off before. Take out the two Space Pirate Militia here. They're small fries, and will fall with a charged shot or two. Head through the door on the north side of the walkway.
- Head down the hallway, and a Pirate Boarding Pod will pop in, letting another pair of Militia out. Assist the troopers in taking them out, then head through the door at the end of the hallway.
- In this room, you'll see a pair of Crawltanks along the wall. Take them out with charged shots, then continue down the walkway, and head through the door at the east side of the room.
- As you enter the room, you'll see a firefight between Troopers and Pirates. A pirate fighter will crash into the wall, and one of the troopers will be sucked out. The other will grab hold of the wall. To save him, hit the small node at the top of the blast door to close it.
- Backtrack to the Xenoresearch Lab, and you'll find a trio of Pirates there to steal an Energy Cell. One's a Militia; the other two are Armored Militia. Lock onto them with Z, and fire charged shots until they go down. Pick up the Energy Cell, then go down to the pillar in the center of the room, and re-insert it. Once power's restored, Crawlmines will swarm the room. Shoot'em before they get close, and take out the Crawltanks that show up. Eventually, a Crawltank will pop out of the floor. Take it out, then hit C to go into Morphball mode. Navigate the small tunnel under the floor, and head out the vent on the north side of the room.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - GFS Olympus - Morph Ballin' (Time: 5:44)
- In the shaft, you'll see one of the other Bounty Hunters kill a pirate. Break the fan in the ventilation shaft with a bomb, then continue forward. You'll drop down a couple levels, then find an Energy Tank behind glass. Bust it out with a bomb, and collect it. Use a bomb to jump up to the next higher level, and continue forward.
- You'll be launched into a disposal chamber. In the south end of the room is a panel. Scan it to open up a bomb slot. Go into Morph Ball mode, use a bomb to get into it, then use a bomb inside to shoot yourself out the airlock.
- You'll climb back in through a hole in the underside of the ship. Go through the door, and some debris will cut off the door, while a pair of Militia will hop in. Take them out, then go up the ramp on the south end of the room. Double jump to the catwalk, and take out the Crawltanks there. Go around the catwalk, and double jump to the next level, then take out the Militia there. From the catwalk, double jump onto the fighter, then jump across to the other catwalk. Go around it, take out the Crawltank, and head through the door.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - GFS Olympus - Missle Launcher (Time: 4:07)
- Through the door, you'll find the Missile Launcher. Grab it, then head back to Repair Bay A. Use the missiles to blast the debris blocking off the door control, then use the hand scanner to open the door.
- At the other side of the chasm, you'll see four nodes above the blast door. Shoot each to extend the bridge and open the door. As you do, a group of Aeromines will approach you. Shoot them as their shields go down and dodge their fire. Take out the Militia on the upper level, then head across the bridge. Head through the northern door to find a save point, then use the hand scanner to open the blast doors and get back to your ship.
-
Boss Fight: Berserker Lord
- Before you can blast off, though, you'll be attacked by a Berserker Lord. Scan it, then lock on with your blaster. Fire charged shots and volleys of regular shots at its two glowing shoulders. While you're doing this, it will use a couple of different attacks. It'll fire a laser along the ground, which you can jump over, or it'll spit a plume of phazon energy at you. Dodge to the side to avoid this.
- Once you've destroyed both shoulders, its attack pattern will change. It'll either fire two purple orbs at you from its shoulders, or shoot one red orb at you from its mouth. Shoot these to knock them back at him and damage the Phazite crest on its head. If the crest isn't destroyed, he'll regenerate his shoulders, and return to the previous pattern.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - GFS Olympus - Boss - Berserker Lord (Time: 5:56)
- Once the crest is destroyed, just lay into his head with everything you've got. He'll use some of the attacks from the first part of the battle, and he'll also smash the ground to create shockwaves for you to jump over. Keep pounding him, and he'll go down.
- Once he's down, climb into your ship. Your energy and missiles will be replenished. Inside, the console will be blinking red. Select it with A and a map will come up. Select the green icon to head down to the planet.

Generator A
- After you land, you'll be told you need to return power to the planetary defenses, and a trooper will tell you where to go. Head toward the main complex, and you'll see a locked door. Shoot the four locks to open it. Inside, you'll see a small chamber with a locked door. Shoot the lock, then pick up the Grapple Lasso. It'll come in handy here. There's also a terminal with information about Rundas.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Norion - Intro (Time: 2:42)
- Once you've got it, head around the hallway, and scan the panel next to the elevator. Activate it using the Wii Remote to pull and turn the switch, then head up the elevator.
- At the top, go through the door and take out the Crawltank waiting for you. Head down the hallway, and in the big round room, you'll find a Militia and a pair of Crawltanks. Take them out with charged shots, then jump the gap in the walkway, and head to the door at the end. Hold Z to lock onto the door, then thrust the Nunchuk at the screen to activate the Grapple Lasso. Then, pull it away from the screen to rip the covering off the door.
- Head through the door, and to your right you'll see a hatch you can pull off. Rip it off just like you did the door. Behind it is a panel that'll tell you have to eliminate all the enemies to use it. Head around the hallway, and you'll be attacked by Aeromines. Take them out like before, then continue around, and another group will attack you. Once they're down, you can use the hand scanner.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Norion - Missile Expansion (Time: 3:39)
- Using it will open a nearby hatch. Go into Morph Ball mode and head into it. This'll lead you into a Morph Ball puzzle. Drop to the bottom, then bomb the fan on the left. Go into the air current, and you'll be propelled up and around. Wait until the air current here stops, then hop up with a bomb, move to the left, and use another bomb to jump up a level. Use bombs to keep moving up, and avoid the air currents, which'll knock you back down. At the top, jump the gap to get to the left, then head to the left and drop down. An air current here will propel you to the top level.
- Bomb the fan here, and move to the right, timing your jumps to avoid the air currents. A small pirate turret will appear. It'll target you with a red laser before firing, so just make sure you're away from the laser before it attacks. You'll come to a circular set of passages, with an air current going up on the left, and an air current pushing into the next set of passages to the right. Use the first to get on top, then slide down on the right as the second air current is going off to get into the tube. Use a bomb to jump up and grab the Missile Expansion. Next, bomb the block in your way, and jump over where it was. The shoot there will take you to where you started, and use the air current on the right to return to the hallway.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Norion - Killing Time (Time: 4:54)
- Go around the hallway, and you'll find debris blocking your path. Use the Grapple Lasso to pull the three pieces out of the way, and roll under it as the Morph Ball. Go through the blue door.
- In here, you won't be able to walk along the floor. Instead, go into Morph Ball, and use a bomb to jump up and grab the Energy Tank. Wait until the pistons along the wall are retracted, and roll through before they pop back out. Be quick, or they'll push you into the damaging floor. Once you're on the other side, head through the door.
- Head down the hallway, and you'll come across a firefight. Take out the Pirate Militia here, and keep moving down the hallway. In an alcove on the right you'll find a red door. Blast it with a missile to unlock it, then head through to find a map station, and terminals with information about the GFS Valhalla, Gandrayda, and Ghor.
- Once you've got the map, continue down the hallway. Some debris will block your path, so blast it out of the way as you move down the ramp. As you turn to head south east, you'll see a flame shooting out of the wreckage. Morph Ball roll under it, then continue on. Watch out for Jumpmines strewn about the area. One shot will take them out. Clear any debris in front of you, and continue until you reach the missile door, and head through.
- Head down the ramp, and once you're on the platform you'll be attacked by a squad of Pirate Troopers and Militia. Take them out; one fully charged shot should be enough for the Militia, while the Troopers require two. They have EMP grenades and dash jets, giving them a bit more punch and mobility than the Militias.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Norion - Generator Online (Time: 3:20)
- Once you take out the first four, a ship will drop off some Shield Militia. Use the Grapple Lasso to yank off their shields, then blast away. Finally, some Aerotroopers will attack. They're quick, so use the homing missiles to take them down if you're having trouble hitting them with the Power Beam. Otherwise, dodge their attacks, and use the debris around the platform as cover if you need to.
- Once they go down, a Space Pirate ATC will attack. Its front heat vent is the vulnerable spot, so throw everything you've got at it. A short cutscene will play when you take it down, and Rundas will say hi.
- Beacons will pop out of the platform, allowing you to land your ship. Use the - button to switch visors, and lock on to the middle of the platform with Z to bring your ship about. Save and replenish your missiles if you need to. Head through the door on the east side of the landing platform.
- Head down the hallway here, and take out the Crawlmines along the wall. Double jump onto the platform in the middle of the hallway, and continue forward. At the end, you'll find a special door. Approach it, then hit the lights as they turn on, then use the Grapple Lasso to pull off the hatch. Open the door, and head through.
- Inside the generator room, you'll find a pair of Aerotroopers, who'll bomb the place and fly off. Head into the middle of the room, and a group of Jolly Roger Drones will attack. They're fast, but fragile. Dodge their attacks, and hit them with whatever you have handy; a few regular Power Beam shots will knock them out of the sky.
- Once they're down, double jump over the gap on the east end of the room, and clear the debris to get to the control panel. Use the Wii Remote to manipulate the controls, then head back to the entrance. On the north side by the entrance, use the hand scanner to turn on the generator, and trigger a cutscene.

Generator C
- Backtrack back to the Cargo Hub. As you pass your ship, you'll see a PED Marine taking out some Pirate troops. In Conduit A, you'll face a swarm of Crawlmines. Take them out, and continue on. Watch out for Jumpmines too. Once you're back, head toward the center door, leading to Generator C, and you'll see Ghor, in a bigger battle suit, slugging it out with a Berserker Lord.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Norion - To Generator C (Time: 3:50)
- Once the Berserker Lord's down, talk to Ghor, then head down the hallway he just opened up. The door here is locked, so destroy the power links on either side, then use the Grapple Lasso to unlock it.
- Head through the door, and assist the GFS Troopers by taking out the pirates. On the left, you'll see a door you can't open yet, so continue on down the hallway until you get to the next room.
- Head down the hallway, and you'll be attacked by a Jolly Roger. Take it out, and continue down. Jump across the gap, and take out the Crawlmines, then head around the bend. Take out the Jolly Roger here, then double jump across the gap. On the catwalk, you'll see a small hatch. Morph Ball into it, then head to the right, through the small chambers, until you end up back on the ground. Unmorph, and head through the door.
- You'll come out on another Cargo Dock. Bomb the security panel in front of you, then use the Morph Ball to head into the vent system. Head through the vents, and Meta Ridley will show up, blocking your path with his claws. Avoid his laser breath, and bomb when he bites down. Eventually, he'll let go of the vent, allowing you to pass. He'll pull the trick a second time, so repeat the process and head through. The path here is linear, so don't worry about missing anything.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Norion - Dragon Claws (Time: 6:31)
- Through the door, head down the hallway and hit the Save Point on the left. Take out the Crawlmines along the wall, and continue forward after you save. The door at the end here is locked, so shoot the lights as they turn on, then yank off the panel to open it up.
- Head through, and a short cutscene will play, showing off Gandrayda's skill. Once she leaves, jump across to the far side of the room and use the override to bring the Generator up. Or try to, anyway. It jams, so you'll have to do some Morph Balling to reach it. Head back toward the entrance, and go into the tunnel. Use a bomb to ignite the gas there, and propel yourself up. You'll have a Jolly Roger shooting at you the whole time, so do your best to avoid its attacks.
- Head to the right, and ignite the next gas to reach the bomb panel. Activate it, then drop down and head to the right. Wait until the gases are shooting up over the electrified floor, then roll across to the right. At the dead end, use another bomb to head to the top, and continue to the right. You'll fall into a small pit; use a bomb to get out of it, then head to the left to find another bomb slot. From there, move to the right, across the electric floor like before to find another bomb slot.
- Once it's activated, continue to the right, using the gases and bombs to propel yourself up when you're blocked. Eventually, you'll leave the wall tunnel and go along some rails in the middle of the room. Navigate it carefully, and continue clockwise around the room. You'll come to another set of tunnels. Head left this time, using the bombs to propel yourself toward the top of the room. You'll come to a steep ramp. Use the bomb to ignite the gas here, and send you up it, then go around the central pillar. You'll hit a bomb slot; activate it, and you'll turn on the generator and be attacked by Meta Ridley.

Boss Fight: Meta Ridley
- You'll fight him falling down a huge shaft. Don't forget to scan him, and keep laying into him. His mouth is his vulnerable spot. He uses a few basic attacks. First, he'll charge a laser, and fire it from his mouth. Move around the pit to avoid it. Next, he'll grab you. This won't do any damage, but he'll pull you in close. His other arm, and mouth, will glow; shoot whatever's glowing to prevent him from attacking you with it.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Norion - Boss - Meta Ridley (Time: 4:32)
- Another attack he's fond of is shooting fireballs at you while you're below him; you can shoot these to prevent them from hitting you. Also, when he's below you, he'll knock red-hot panels from the wall. Avoid these so they don't damage you. Keep pelting him with shots. Rapid fire attacks work better than charged shots, because you've got a greater chance of hitting him. Also, keep an eye on the bottom of the screen. That's a count of how far you've got to fall before you hit the ground, so make sure to beat him before it hits 0.

The Defense Cannon
- Now, head to the set of controls near the entrance, and use the hand-scanner to turn on the Generator. Once it's on, backtrack to the Cargo Hub again. Blast any pirates, Crawltanks, Crawlmines, Jump Mines, or anything else that gets in your way. In the Cargo Dock C, head into the Morph Ball tunnel on the right, and use the bombs to propel yourself up. Head across, and continue on the way you first came. Pay attention to the voice over; that's not for dramatics, that's actually how much time you've got, so hurry up.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Norion - Control Tower (Time: 6:05)
- Once you're in the Cargo Hub, go to the door on the north east, open it with the hand scanner, and take the elevator up. You'll meet the other Bounty Hunters there, and there'll be a cutscene. Samus will use the last ounces of her strength to fire the cannon and knock out the meteor.

Back Aboard The Olympus
- You'll regain control of Samus in Olympus's Medlab. The doctor will tell you about what's happened in the month you were unconscious, and about the Phazon you're now generating, along with the PED system. You'll be prompted to turn it on; hold the + button to activate it, at the cost of an energy tank. Blast the targets, and the test will end.

- Once you're out of the chair, head through the door. In the next room, you'll find several panels that you can only destroy with Phazon, so go into Hypermode, and blast them. Open the door at the end of the hall, and head through.
- Use the hand scanner to activate the elevator, then head up. Go through the door at the top, and head down the hallway, saving if you want. Head into the Flag Bridge, then to the right. Talk to the trooper there, and he'll unlock the door, allowing you to enter the AU chamber.

Find The Downed GFS Ship
- After the cutscene, you'll find yourself in Samus's gunship. Use the controls to head down to the planet's surface. Once you're on the ground, head forward off the landing platform. You'll receive the location of a downed Federation ship. Head down the pathway, and through the door.

- In the next room, you'll find a lizard-like creature encased in ice. Wonder if this is a clue as to where Rundas is, huh? Head down the hallway, until you reach an ice bridge. There'll be a few Gragnols hovering around, so take them out before they attack you. Go across the ice bridge, and drop into the room below. Turn around, and you'll find a statue. Scan it, and you'll learn you can pull it from the wall, so use the Grapple Lasso to do just that to create a pathway so you can head back. For now, head through the door.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Grapple Swing (Time: 5:06)
- Head forward, and jump across to the platform in the northeast corner of the room, then jump south, to the next platform. Head down the ramp, and you'll see a breaking platform on the right, leading across the gap. Run up it, then turn around and pull the large panel. Don't jump across. Instead, head north, onto the next platform, then jump across to the pillar in the middle of the room. Go into the Morph Ball tunnel, and go down the hole. You'll end up in a bomb slot, so activate it.
- Some Phazon Nightbarbs will show up. Wait until they group up and start charging up, then blast it to destroy the lot of them. Climb back onto the walkway on the southeast side of the room, and move clockwise around the room, climbing up on the wall. Jump onto the platform you just lowered, and then over to the next one, and from there to the top platform on the center pillar. Drop into the hole in the Morph Ball, and activate the bomb slot to open the door on the west side.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Hidden Missle (Time: 4:19)
- Some Gel Puffers will come out. Just shoot them or avoid them, just don't be close to them when they go off. The path you first took from the entrance will be blocked, so head along the west side of the room. Head to the door you just opened, and head through.
- Inside is a Morph Ball tunnel. Before you go in, use the Grapple Lasso to remove the obstruction on the right side of the tunnel. You'll have to pull it along the tunnel a couple of times before you can yank it out. Head into the tunnel, and head to the right, using bombs to navigate through. Once you're through, you'll be attacked by a couple Hoppers. Dodge their attacks, and one charged shot will take care of each. Open the door to find an Energy Tank. Use the Grapple Lasso to pull a penal off the wall and scan what's behind it to get some info on the planet.
- Now, head back, and take the left path, using the bombs to navigate it. Once you're on the other side, some Shriek Bats will attack, so either blast them or get out of the way. Use a missile to get through the door.
- Shoot the Shelbugs along the wall, and head down the hallway. Along the right side of the wall, you'll see a statue. Blast it, then jump into the alcove. Jump across the hall, into the hole, then look to the right to see a Missile Expansion. Shoot the Shelbugs there, and hop across to grab it.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Crazy Bugs (Time: 3:51)
- Drop down, and you'll see a passageway blocked by Phazon vines. Go into Hypermode and blast away at the bulbous parts. Head through, and take out the Hoppers, then go through the door.
- Drop down from the entrance, and turn around. Yank all the panels off with the Grapple Lasso. This will let you get back up, but you don't have to do that yet, so turn back around, and drop into the main section of the room. Some of the natives will show up to say hi. They're unfriendly, so return the greeting with firepower. These are Reptilicus Hunters; they can cloak, and have both close and long range attacks. Blast them with the Power Beam until they go down, and be careful to stay out of their reach.
- Once they're down, head through the passageway at the west end of the room. To the left, you'll see a strange panel. Shoot the middle red spot, then shoot the other red spots in the order in which they appear. Scan it to learn of Bryyo's Age of Science, then turn and head through the door.
- Head down the steps, and take out the Gragnols that attack you. At the base of the lowest step, you'll find a block that you can bomb. Do so, then head through. At the bottom, roll to the right and get bugs attached to you until you start floating up. Float as far to the left as you can, and avoid the thing reaching out from the ceiling. Go up the left passage, then bomb the bugs off of you and roll to the right to get a Missile Expansion. Use a double bomb-jump to get onto the overhang over the missile expansion, and head to the right.
- Once you're out of the wall, use the Grapple Lasso to pull the ornamental shield off the statue, then blast it to clear the way. Head through the door. Inside, you'll find the Grapple Swing, which'll let you play Tarzan with the grapple points you've no doubt spotted in the area.
- Exit the room, and use the Grapple Swing to head back across the gap, and jump up the stone steps. Back in the Grand Court, go through the passageway by the Golem's feet, and follow it up, until you reach the platform on the west end of the room. From here, Grapple Swing across to the east side, and go up the Morph Ball tunnel you opened up before to exit the room. Be sure to clear out the Gel Puffers first, or they'll knock you off.
- Backtrack to the Gateway, and head through the door at the south east. At the Gateway, you'll find a few Reptilicus's, so watch out for them to teleport behind you. Through the door, you'll find the crashed GFS Theseus. Before you swing across, shoot down or dodge the Shriek Bats. Once on the other side, there's a small opening you can bomb, so head inside in Morph Ball mode.
- For the moment, all you can do is head to the left through the tunnel, so use bombs to navigate and go through. Inside, you'll find an Atomic. Charge up a shot and blow it away before it hits you. The door on the north west end is held in place by a pair of clamps. Hit them each with a missile to open it up. Behind it are four power rods you'll have to pull with the Grapple Lasso to activate, so go ahead and do that. You'll have to bring them to the center in pairs, the bottom pair and the top pair.
- Once you've done that, a big block will pop up in the center of the room. Turn toward it, and turn the dial with the Wii Remote to download the area's map.
- After the cutscene, you'll find yourself in Samus's gunship. Use the controls to head down to the planet's surface. Once you're on the ground, head forward off the landing platform. You'll receive the location of a downed Federation ship. Head down the pathway, and through the door.
-
Destroy Eastern Energy Signature
- Soon after, you'll be given the locations of the shield generators. Head through the door in the north end of the room, and head back into the Morph Ball maze. The power's on now, so you'll have to watch out for arching electricity. At the second point where you need to bomb jump, instead head to the right, and head up using bombs. Where you were previously blocked, the node is moving up and down. Wait until it's at the top, then use a double bomb jump to get to the next ledge. Head to the right, avoiding the arcs, and you'll come out on a platform overlooking the Crash Site. There'll be a couple Adult Gragnols; use the Grapple Lasso on them to pull them apart, and collect the Missile Expansion.
- Once you've got it, back track toward your ship. On the ice bridge in Gateway Hall, you'll be ambushed by a group of Alpha Hoppers. Avoid their acidic spit, and stay out of the range of their claw attacks as you lay into them with charged Power Beam shots. Eventually, you'll kill the last one and the doors will open up. Continue back to your ship.
- Once in your ship, save and enter it. From here, press A on the center console to pick another landing spot. Head to the eastern landing site, the Fiery Airdock. You'll spot Rundas' ship to the right. Head through the door to the next room.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Firey Airdock (Time: 4:51)
- Go down the hallway, and you'll find your path blocked. Shoot a charged shot at the fuel gel spilling from the door, and it'll open. Hop across the pool of gel, and open the next door the same way. Whatever you do, don't fall into the pools, or you'll take damage. Head down the hallway, and head to the door to the south into the next room.
- Take out the Reptilicus's that attack you. Head to the east end of the room, and you'll see a blue door on a raised platform. To the right, shoot the two fuel gel spouts. This'll flip out a platform, which you can use to reach the door, and head through.
- In this room, you'll find another wall panel to pull off to the right, which'll give you more lore. Once you've scanned it, go into the small tunnel in Morph Ball mode. Through the small tunnel, you'll see more of those bugs that make you float. Grab onto a few, and float all the way up; use a bomb to blast them off before the thing at the top grabs you, and move to the left. Use a bomb to hop over the obstruction, drop down, and head out the tube to the left. Go through the tunnel all the way to find a Missile Expansion. Head back to where the bugs were, and bomb the plant blocking your way. Drop down a level, and roll back to the left, through the other tunnel.
- Once through, go onto the lift on the south end of the room, and use the Grapple Lasso to pull the switch and head down. Open the door with a missile, and head through.
- Kill the hoppers, then go into Hypermode to get rid of the big Phazon plant thing in your way; you'll overload, so keep blasting even after it's down to vent the Phazon. Once you're back to normal, hop into the Phazon to find that it heals you this time. Once you're back up to full, get back up on the platform and use the Grapple Swing to get to the other side. Once there, head through the door.
- In here, you'll spot Rundas before he goes into another room. Walk across the floor, and you'll be attacked by Warp Hounds. As their name suggests, these guys teleport around, making it harder to keep track of them. Dodge their attacks, and keep some distance between yourself and them, and pelt them with missiles and charged shots to take them down. They have a couple attacks; mainly, they'll spit fuel gel at you, but if you're close they'll radiate heat and damage you.
- Once they're down, get up on the platform on the south end of the room. Go to the urn spewing out fuel gel, and fire a charged shot at each spout, then go into Morph Ball mode and activate the bomb slot. Jump across to the platform you just raised, and kill the Gragnols hovering around. On the west and east sides of the room, there's access shoots for you to pull down with the Grapple Lasso. Do that, then jump onto the platform on the east side.
- Use the pump with the Wii Remote by pushing and pulling it to and from the screen until it starts pumping fuel gel. Shoot the two spouts with charged shots, then go into Morph Ball mode and into the access tunnel. Go through the tunnel, and once you're on the other side, activate the bomb slot like before: Shoot the fuel gel spouts, then bomb it. Go back through the tunnel to the other side, and back to the middle platform.
- Some Gragnol Adults will have been released, so take them out with the Grapple Lasso. Scan the wall to the south, and you'll find a pressure cap, which you can pull off with the Grapple Lasso. Once you do, shoot a charged shot at the fuel gel, then when it turns, shoot it at the other exposed gel. Jump across to the hole that's just opened, and go into the Morph Ball tunnel that just opened up. Move to the right in the tunnel, and use your bombs to jump up when you need to. There's a couple of little critters in here; lay bombs ahead of them to blow them up.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Puzzle Area (Time: 7:23)
- Where the second critter is, there's a set of steps. Use bombs to jump up them, then bomb the structure blocking you; this'll drop a block to block the lower flame. Head back down to the bottom, and use the block to head forward. Jump past the next flame when it stops. Keep moving forward, and you'll find another Bomb Slot; activate it just like the previous two. Now, jump to the middle platform, making sure to destroy the Gel Puffers so they don't hit you, then to the west end of the room, aiming for the green strip. This is a Grab Ledge, and will let you grab onto the edge of a platform and flip up. Double Jump to reach it, then head through the door.
- In this room is a large pool of fuel gel, a few Gel Puffers, and a big spout rotating in the middle. Wait until it's facing the south west, then shoot a charged shot at the flowing gel. This will drop down a platform with a Missile Expansion that you can use to cross the room, and head through the door. There's a couple of fish that jump out of the gel occasionally, but it happens so rarely they probably won't block your jumps.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Kill the Ships (Time: 2:54)
- Save your game, then continue through the next door. Kill the hoppers, and move through the room. The next room has a few pools of gel, with openings on the ceiling that drip more of the stuff down. Wait until they stop, then jump across the pools and continue west. Kill the Gragnols wandering around as well, and continue on.
- Head up the tunnel, and kill the Gelbugs along the edge before they detach and suicide bomb you. Head through the door, then in the Temple of Bryyo, head into the open area. A Pirate ship will bombard the area, so keep in the archway until it stops firing. Like the one that attacked you on Norion, attack its front vent to take it down. It'll drop some Pirate Troopers and Armored Pirate Troopers; avoid their blasts, and keep pelting them with charged shots to take them down. They both fight exactly the same, you just have to knock the armor off the APT's first before you can do real damage. Once you've finished the first wave, pillars of ice will pop up, and in a cutscene the rest of the pirates will be killed. After the cutscene, you'll see Rundas. Approach him to begin the battle.
-
Boss Fight: Rundas
- Rundas will begin the fight with an ice armor on, which will prevent him from taking damage. Wear him down with charged shots and missiles until he's stunned, then use the Grapple Lasso to pull the armor off of him. Once that's done, you can begin to damage him.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Boss - Rundas (Time: 6:42)
- Rundas has a few tactics he uses. One, he'll run around on foot, throwing ice bolts at you. If he hits you, you'll freeze. Hit B repeatedly to break out. He'll throw between one and four shots at you, so be ready to keep dodging. During this phase, he'll occasionally knock your missiles out of the air with an ice blast. He'll also take to the sky and ice surf over you. It's very difficult to hit him with charged shots here, so either use a volley of uncharged shots or the homing missiles. Later in the fight, he'll throw ice bolts at you as he's flying around. Dodge them, or shoot them down to collect health and missiles.
- Occasionally, he'll perch on top of one of the ice pillars. When he does this in the beginning of the fight, he'll throw huge ice balls at you; shoot them down with volleys of the Power Beam, and fire missiles at him while you're dealing with the ice balls. Later in the battle, he'll instead manifest a giant ice club and swing it before throwing it at you. Just move to the side to avoid it.
- Toward the end of the battle, you'll see him glowing on occasion. This means he's using Hypermode, and will be very difficult to damage. If you've got the health to spare, enter Hypermode yourself, or just keep whittling him down with your regular attacks and wait for him to get out of Hypermode. Keep up the attack, and you'll eventually take him down.
- Rundas will begin the fight with an ice armor on, which will prevent him from taking damage. Wear him down with charged shots and missiles until he's stunned, then use the Grapple Lasso to pull the armor off of him. Once that's done, you can begin to damage him.
-
Destroy Eastern Energy Signature, Part II
- Once Rundas is taken care of, pick up his Ice Missiles. These work just like the regular Missiles, just hit Down on the D-Pad to fire. In addition to explosive damage, they'll freeze most enemies, as you might have guessed. Once you've collected the power up, grab all the health and ammo lying about the place. Step onto the hologram in the center of the room, ride the elevator down, and head through the door.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Ice Missiles (Time: 6:11)
- In the next room is a pool of fuel gel, with no readily apparent way of crossing. Put your new toys to good use, and fire them into the gel. A block of ice will form, which you can step on; make more to head across the pool, and go through the door on the other side. The ice blocks don't last long, so be quick.
- In the next room, kill the Shellbug along the wall, then use the pump on the right side using the Wii Remote to get the fuel gel pumping. Use the Ice Missiles to freeze the flowing gel, and jump across the gap to the other side, and head through the door.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Cold Lava (Time: 5:18)
- Head around the middle of the room, toward the window. Scan the large object in front of you, and you'll get a transmission. You'll need to find some heavier firepower in order to break it down. Start backtracking toward your ship. In the Temple of Bryyo, there'll be a few Hoppers for you to kill. In the Gel Cavern, you'll see a path to the north, which you can now go through by using the Ice Missiles to freeze the spouts shooting out Fuel Gel.
- First, though, return to the Gel Hall. Use the ice missiles to go into the northern path, and then open the door. You'll see a long chasm, with spires dropping down in the middle. Approach the edge, then shoot the red light that appears on the spire to unlock the grapple point. Use the Grapple Swing to grab onto it, then shoot the next spire's red light, and grab onto it. Continue in this fashion until you reach the other side, and head through the door.
- You'll find yourself again in the Gel Refinery Station. Turn to the right, and use the Grapple Lasso to yank the gate out of the way, and grab the Missile Expansion. Hop down, and continue back to your ship.
- Once in your ship, return to the Cliffside Airdock. First, return to the Grand Court, on the western side of the area. Dispatch the Reptilicus's, and from the center grapple point swing to the south onto the platform. Use the Ice Missiles to open the door, then go inside and grab the Missile Expansion. Avoid the Geemer walking around the room, or blow it away with a missile.
- Now, head to the GFS Theseus, to the south. Head through the southern door, and use the Ice Missiles to get across the gap, freezing the fuel gel flows. Go into Morph Ball mode, and activate the Bomb Slot in the golem's belly to drop down. Open the door with an Ice Missile, and head through.
- In the next room, kill the Warp Hounds. They should be easier to dispatch now with the Ice Missiles. Once they're dead, use the bomb slot that opens up in the raised platform. Now, shoot a charged shot at the base of the cord holding the golem's right leg. In the southwest corner of the room, you'll see one of the cords attached to a rock. Blast it with a missile, then jump inside and blast the base of the cord.
- On the east wall, you'll see a fuel gel spout with one of the cords right in front of it. Ignite the spout with a charged shot to sever the cord. Now, on the north side of the room, fire an Ice Missile at the fuel gel shooting from the wall. Directly to the right of it is a Morph Ball tunnel entrance, go in, and head across the now-frozen fuel gel. Bomb Jump to the left, and you'll see a small tunnel; head into it, and bomb the base of the cord. Now, head back up and use the bomb slot in the center of the room.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Free the Golem (Time: 5:14)
- Head down the hole the golem opens up, and go through the door. Drop down to the bottom of the cylindrical room, and bomb the golem arm laying there to find an Energy Tank. Climb back up to the platform you started on, and blast the crystallized fuel gel on the golem stuck in the north wall. Use the grapple point to swing across to the other side, then climb the platforms on the north side, and cross the bridge back to the south. Along the walls, you'll spot Gragnol hives. Hit each with a missile to keep the bugs from bothering you.
- Climb the platforms on the other side of the bridge until you reach the ledge on the east side of the room. Look across to the west, and you'll see more crystallized fuel gel, so blast it with a charged shot. On the south end of the room, you can see another piece, so shoot that too to create another grapple point. Swing across, and head left, through the small tunnel, and climb up the steps. Head across the bridge, and head into the next room.
- Blast the Gragnol Hives up along the southern and northern wall, then approach the control panel south of the landing platform. A few Warp Hounds will attack, so dispatch them. Reptilicus Hunters will join in after they're down, so deal with them as well.
- Once they're all dead, head back to the control panel and hit the button on the left to raise the missile stacks. In the northwest corner of the room, activate the elevator with the hand scanner, then ride it up. Hop across to the opposite platform, then shoot the gratings off the vents. Go into Morph Ball mode, and jump into the one on the right. Remove the Energy Cell with the Wii Remote and then head through the vent on the left to head back down.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Pimp my Ride (Time: 6:42)
- Jump onto the top of the missile rack, then turn to the east. Use the Grapple Lasso to pull the platform out, then turn toward the center of the room and double jump to the Grab Ledge. Jump over to the platform you just pulled out, then onto the platform in the southeast corner. From here, jump onto the center platform, then into the northwest corner of the room. Against the wall is an opening for the Morph Ball, so head in.
- Head through the vent, and into the control room. Use the control panel with the Wii Remote to open up the bay doors. Go back down to the control panel and lower the missile racks. Then use your Command visor and call your ship. Hit the center button on the control panel to upgrade your ship.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Rotating Dragon Head Expansion (Time: 4:28)
- Hop in, and head back to the Fiery Airdock. Backtrack to the room where you saw the shield generator. In several rooms, the enemies you encountered before have been replaced by Pirates. A Jolly Roger drone will attack you in the Imperial Hall, and a Shield Pirate Trooper will attack you in the Gel Refinery site. There won't be anything you haven't seen before, so wipe them out as you go.
- When you get back to the Temple of Bryyo, there'll be a pair of Armored Aerotroopers there waiting for you. They fight just like the other Aerotroopers, and are more susceptible to missile attacks than the beam attacks. Use the structures as cover and keep pelting them. After the first wave is down, head over to the satellite dishes on either side, and use the Grapple Lasso to pull the levers on the front. Once both are shut off, use the Command Visor and target the clamp on the elevator in the center of the room; the gunship will do a bombing run, killing the pirates and destroying their stuff, letting you pass.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Disarm the Satellite (Time: 4:41)
- In the Temple Reservoir, some Aeromines will attack you. Get to solid ground before you attempt to fend them off, lest you find yourself in the fuel gel. Some Pirate Militia will attack you in the room with the shield generator. Blast them, then target the generator with your Command Visor to send the gunship on a bombing run to blow the thing up. One down, one to go.
-
Destroy Western Energy Signature
- Now, make your way back to your ship. In the Temple of Bryyo, a pair of Pirates will attack. One's just a regular trooper, the other is an Advanced Shield Trooper. Use the Grapple Lasso to take the shield, then hit him with charged shots until he goes down. He can take a lot more punishment than most of the Pirates you've faced so far, so just keep going at it until he's down. Alternatively, order an air strike.
- Once you get back to your ship, head to the Thorn Jungle Airdock. Head through the door, and you'll be attacked by a pair of Pirate Troopers in their own Hypermode. Either enter Hypermode yourself to deal with it, or just dodge its attacks and pelt it with charged shots until it goes down. Blow open the walls with crystallized fuel gel; the one on the south wall leads to a missile door, behind it is an Energy Tank. On the wall opposite, there's more crystallized fuel gel higher up; blow it open, then climb up a box on the south wall, and jump across to reach the hole.
- There's a Morph Ball tunnel, so head inside. Through the tunnel is the control panel to turn off the energy shield in the hallway, so shut it off and head back, then head through the door into the next room. A Space Pirate ATC is docked here, with one of those satellite dishes. Go into the room and kill the two pirates hanging around, then shut off the satellite and bomb the huge door to the east.
- Once you do, a pair of Pirates and a Berserker Knight will show up. The Knight will kill one of the troopers, so deal with the other one before taking on the Knight. If you don't take out the other Pirate, the Knight will just pick him up and throw him at you.
- Fight the Berserker Knight similarly to the Berserker Lord. He'll send a volley of purple orbs at you, which you can shoot back at him to destroy the Phazite plating on his head, then go to town. Some Space Pirate Militia will come in to back him up, but one charged shot will take them down. Once everybody's dead, head through the door to the east.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Thorne Jungle (Time: 5:31)
- In the next room, you'll be attacked by some Crawltanks, who can also enter Hypermode. Pelt them with rapid fire shots, though, and they won't be able to get a strike in. In the next room, you'll be attacked by more Aerotroopers. Dispatch them, and the Korakk Beast will attack.
-
Boss Fight: Korakk Beast
- First, target the rider on top. He'll go down with a couple of charged shots. While he's still in the saddle, you literally cannot kill the beast. While he's mounted, he'll swing at you with his energy lance, and make the Korakk Beast use its Phazon breath attack. Keep your distance to avoid both.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Boss - Korakk (Time: 5:34)
- Next, keep your distance from the beast, and shoot its mouth when it fires its tongue at you; if it grabs you, shake the 'Wii Remote and Nunchuk until it lets go. Once you stun it, go into Morph Ball mode and roll under it, dropping bombs under its belly. When they go off, go back to normal form, and use the Grapple Lasso on its back to pull it to a standing position. Shoot the exposed underside quickly, before it goes back on all fours.
- Repeat this pattern to kill it. Also, be careful not to accidentally step in the pool of fuel gel in one corner of the room. During the fight it's easy to get disoriented and forget where it is. After it's dead, a pair of Shield Militia will attack you, so take care of them before moving on.
-
Destroy Western Energy Signature, Part II
- Head through the southern door. There's a few Jolly Roger drones hanging around, so take them out, then take a right at the intersection to find a save point behind the Ice Missile door. After you save, head out of the save point and head through the door to the east.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Turret 1 (Time: 5:39)
- Through the door is a chamber where you can see the next shield generator. First, though, when you come in you'll see a glowing panel on the wall. Shoot the middle panel, then the ones that light up red in the order they appear to get a Missile Expansion. Use the Command Visor to order a bombing run on the generator, and you'll see the anti-air cannons prevent the ship from making the run. Turn to leave the room, and the side corridors will open up. A pair of Armored Pirate Troopers will attack; use missiles to take out their armor, and charged shots to kill them before they go into Hypermode.
- Once they're dead, head out the door to the south. Shoot the walkway overhead with a charged shot to destroy it, then double jump up to the Grab Ledge. A pair of pirates will attack, an Armored Trooper and a regular Trooper, so destroy them before hopping across to the other side. Head through the corridor, and watch out for the two turrets hanging above the door. You can use the fuel gel tanks that go past to take them out quickly once they start shooting, then head through the door.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Turret 2 (Time: 5:59)
- Head down the corridor, and take out another turret. At the end, you'll find some Pirates working on the anti-air gun, who'll quickly notice you and attack. Take out the troopers, then go under the gun. Use the Grapple Lasso to pull the bottom, then rush around and shoot the exposed fuel gel tanks. The pirates keep respawning, so take them out between attacks on the gun, and repeat until they're all dead and the anti-air gun is no more.
- Once that's taken care of, head out the door to the east. Take out the turret and the Jolly Roget drones that come at you, then head through the door at the end.
- Go around to the west end of this room, and use the Grapple Lasso on the wall with the Morph Ball course to pull the piston down. Now, quickly, go back to the entrance and use the Morph Ball to get into the tunnel. Follow it around and use the piston to get to the higher level, where you'll find a Ship Missile Expansion. Drop down, and head through the next door.
- Head down the corridor, and take out the Aeromines. Past them, you'll find some proximity mines, so shoot them before walking across. Past the midway point of the room, some more Aeromines will show up, so take them out and head through the door.
- You'll find the second anti-air turret. As you step in the room, some Aerotroopers will pull a few levers, preventing you from using the access at the bottom of the gun. Jump up onto the platform on the southwest side, then onto the platform on the gun, and back to the southwest side to reach the first lever, and use the Grapple Lasso to pull it back into position. Use the platform around the gun to reach the other levers, but be wary of the Aerotroopers, as they'll keep pulling the levers back. Missiles are your best bet for keeping them at bay. Once you've pulled all three levers, the fuel gel tanks will be exposed. Blast all three of them and the anti-air cannon will go offline.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Back to the Ship Again (Time: 5:14)
- Head through the door to the southwest. Through the door, you'll be attacked by a Shield Trooper, so take him out. When you get into the room with the gap, a pair of Jolly Rogers will attack, so blast them, then wait for the fuel gel tanks to be above the hanging walkway, and shoot them with a charged shot. Head across the walkway, and use the pump with the Wii Remote to rotate the barrier in the Morph Ball section of the room. Head in, the entrance is to the north of the pump, and grab the Missile Expansion.
- Head back to the room where you first saw the shield generator. There'll be a pair of Troopers here, so take them out, then use the Command Visor to destroy the generator. Now it's time to start heading back to your ship.
- In the Jousting Field, you'll find some Pirates around a downed ship. Take them out on your way through. The Ancient Courtyard has a Pirate transport ship, but it won't do much but lob a few shots your way as it leaves. You can destroy it if you're quick and in Hypermode. Continue on to your ship. Save and head over to the Seed.
- Head through the southern door. There's a few Jolly Roger drones hanging around, so take them out, then take a right at the intersection to find a save point behind the Ice Missile door. After you save, head out of the save point and head through the door to the east.
-
The Bryyo Seed
- Once you land, use the floating platforms to head across to the door, then go through. In the next hallway, your path will be blocked by some vine looking things. Blast the blue center with charged shots to get them out of the way. Once you're past them, head through the door. You'll see a Reptilicus War Golem in the center of the room. Hop down to initiate the battle.

Boss Fight: Mogenar
- This will be one of the toughest fights in the game. First, his attacks: He'll do a stomping attack that sends a line of energy flowing across the ground at you. Jump to either side to avoid it. He'll also jump, sending a shockwave along the ground that you'll have to jump over. Later in the fight, he'll send energy hands at you, and smaller energy attacks. The hands you can blast out of the air. He'll also occasionally charge across the arena at you, which you can dodge fairly easily. Also, at one point, he'll smash the ground, making bits of the ceiling fall down. Just keep moving to avoid getting hurt by this.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Boss - Mogenar 1 (Time: 9:18)
- Shoot the red orbs on his body, concentrating fire on one of them until it explodes. Occasionally the orbs will switch places while the shutters on them are closed, so watch out for that. There's three on his front, and one on the back.
- Once the orbs are destroyed, go into Hypermode and blast away at the exposed Phazon where the orbs were. Once they're all destroyed, he'll be dead. Be alert, though, because he can and will attempt to repair the orbs by grabbing at them with the energy hands. Shoot the orbs as he's grabbing them to prevent him from repairing himself.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Boss - Mogenar 2 (Time: 8:00)
- Once you destroy one of the Phazon points, he'll gain armor on his feet which prevents you from doing any more damage. During this stage, he'll just ram you and do the jumping attack. Wait until he charges, then go into Morph Ball mode once he stops and lay bombs at his feet. Once the foot armor is destroyed, take out another bit of Phazon. When you destroy each piece of foot armor, make sure to grab the health ups it drops, as you'll need them to fuel the Hypermode.
- Once he's down, you'll get the Hyper Ball. Go into Morph Ball mode, and hold A to use the attack on the little pods that sprout. Once they're all dead, a short cutscene will play. Hit A again to discharge the Phazon in your body and destroy the core of the Seed, and head on to your next mission.

Get Aurora Unit Back Online
- After you leave Bryyo, you'll get another briefing from the Olympus' Aurora Unit, telling you to head to Elysia. Once it's done talking, head to the Main Docking Bay. Once you land, head into the larger facility. Follow the ramps up, then head through the door.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Elysia - Intro (Time: 4:35)
- In here, you'll see a Chozo statue with Phazon vines all over it. Bomb jump into the hole in front of him, then go into Hypermode and use the Hyper Ball to destroy the vines. The statue will recede, and you'll see a Grapple Point over the gap. Before you swing across, use charged shots to get rid of the glass panels hanging over the gap. Once you're across, head through the door.
- You'll see a zipline overhead, so use the Grapple Swing to grab onto it. Along the line are several shutters that you'll have to shoot to open as you approach them. If you don't, you'll get knocked off and have to start again.
- Head through the door, and you'll see a couple Tinbots come and attack you. One charged shot will be enough to knock each of them out. Follow the corridor until it reaches the outside. There'll be three more Tinbots here. Head past them, and back into the building. Follow the corridor and head through the door.
- You'll spot a Steamlord in here, which will just run away before you get close. Head through the door at the end of the corridor, as there's nothing else of note here.
- Go into Morph Ball mode and use the kinetic orb cannon to reach the other side of the chasm. Once there, remain in Morph Ball mode and go into the tunnel. Use a Double Bomb Jump to reach the Missile Expansion, then continue through the tunnel. Once through, jump over to the platform to the south east. You'll find another cannon, but it's locked off for now. Use the zip line to continue on. On this zip line, in addition to the shutters, there'll be a mine-laying robot flying ahead of you, doing exactly as its name suggests. Shoot the mines to keep them from knocking you off, and once you're on the other side, head through the door.
- Through the door, you'll spot another Steamlord, which will disappear when you approach. Go past it, and use the Morph Ball to get under the lasers; on the nearside of the little pit, you'll find a Missile Expansion so grab it, then head through the door.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Elysia - Steam Lord (Time: 3:45)
- Use the hand scanner to activate the elevator, then ride it down. Use the Morph Ball tunnel on the south side of the elevator and navigate the tunnel using the bombs. Watch out for the pistons, and bomb the obstructions in your way. You'll spot a Missile Expansion when you hit the steam vent, but you can't get it right now, so just continue on and drop out of the vents.
- Try to leave the room, and you'll be attacked by the Steamlord and some Steambots. You can only damage the Steamlord while he's repairing a Steambot, so lob charged shots at the 'bots until they go down, then attack the Steamlord when he shows up to fix them. After he takes a few hits, he'll blow up, leaving you an Energy Tank. Pick it up, then use the Grapple Lasso to destroy the release valves around the room and open the shutters.
- Head through the door, and you'll see a disabled lift on the left. Head past it, and use the hand scanner to activate it, then ride it up. Go through the door here, then ride the zip line to get across. Some small drones will try and block you, so blast them before they can knock you off, then head through the door.
- Head down the hallway, and you'll find a save point behind the Ice Missile door. Once you save, come back out and use the hand scanner to activate the lift, then ride it down. Head through the door on the lower floor.
- You'll find yourself in the AU chamber, but unfortunately the door to reach the big brain is locked, and you can't open it yet. Continue along the corridor, and head to the next room.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Elysia - AU Chamber (Time: 3:12)
- Head up the steps, and take out the Sky Puffers floating around. Jump across the gap in the middle of the room, and go through the door at the end of the corridor. Through the door is another kinetic cannon, so climb in and launch yourself to the center spire.
- On the spire, you'll spot Ghor's armor sitting around, as well as two zip lines. Take the one to the west, and head through the door on the other side. There's a few Tinbots hanging around in here, but they shouldn't give you much trouble. Head through Ice Missile Door on the west side of the Junction. Through it, you'll spot a Steamlord who'll disappear. Use the Grapple Lasso to bring down the gate, then you'll be attacked by a bunch of Dragoon Battle Drones. Use the Grapple Lasso to pull them apart, then go into Morph Ball mode and hop into the hole in the west side of the first column in the middle of the bridge to find a Missile Expansion. Now bring down the second gate and head onward.
- As you pass the second gate, the bridge will begin to come down. Continue forward, and the Steamlord will attack you with some Steambots. Deal with them as before, and be careful not to fall off. There's a third gate for you to yank down, and once you do the bridge behind you will fall off completely. Keep moving forward, and a trio of Dragoons will attack. Beat them, and head through the door.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Elysia - Stylish Kill (Time: 5:07)
- Jump across the platforms poking out of the walls to cross the gap and reach the door on the other side. Jump up the hanging platforms until you reach the large structure in the middle. Once you reach it, target the cracked clamp and blast it, then jump up to the Grab Ledge. Go into Morph Ball mode and hop into the tunnel. Activate the Bomb Slots as you come to them, and then head back out and back to the platform from which you shot the clamp.
- From here, use the Grapple Swing to make your way across the bottom of the structure. By the last Grapple Point are a few drones who'll rush at you. Shoot them down before they can knock you off. Once you're on the other side, go into Morph Ball mode and use the ramp to reach the larger platform. Once there, use the Morph Ball to go into the central tower, and climb up using the bombs and steam vents to go to the higher levels.
- A pair of Dragoons will attack you when you reach the top. Take them out, then use the hand scanner to the south to move the crane's arm. Use the Morph Ball to reach its end, take out the Dragoon there, and then jump up to the door and head through.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Elysia - To the Top (Time: 4:19)
- Inside, use the hand scanner on the wall to activate the lift, then head down. Go through the door at the bottom to find the Boost Ball upgrade. You can't grab it just yet, though. As you approach, you'll be attacked by the Defense Drone.
- After you leave Bryyo, you'll get another briefing from the Olympus' Aurora Unit, telling you to head to Elysia. Once it's done talking, head to the Main Docking Bay. Once you land, head into the larger facility. Follow the ramps up, then head through the door.

Boss Fight: Defense Drone
- In the first phase of the fight, the Defense Drone will either jump up and down, creating a shockwave for you to jump over, or he'll fire blasts from the snout like thing on his front. He's invincible for the moment, so fire on the antennae over his head. Once you knock down all three, he'll slump down, so use the Grapple Lasso to open up his armor. Get in a few shots before he leaps away to the higher levels.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Elysia - Boss - Defense Drone (Time: 7:45)
- Now, he'll keep his distance, and lob homing balls of...something at you; he'll also occasionally charge up a large energy ball and shoot it your way. Keep firing away at the exposed core as he hops around, and do your best to dodge the homing balls. You can also blast them away as they're chasing you. After a while of this, he'll bring up the antennae again, and you'll repeat the previous phase.
- When he's close to death, the room will fill with some sort of steam when you knock down the antennae. It's not harmful, it just makes it a little harder to see. The attack pattern won't change, however, so just repeat and bring him down. Once he's dead, retrieve the Boost Ball.

Get Aurora Unit Back Online, Part II
- Go into Morph Ball mode and roll into the hologram on the floor. Use the Boost Ball by holding and releasing B to lower yourself down, then keep Boosting around the chamber. The gears will turn, and the elevator will bring you back up, so head back through the door.
- Make your way back toward the Aurora Unit chamber. In the Construction Bay, instead of taking the long route along the grapple points, hang a left right outside the door, and head down through the Morph Ball tunnel, using a bomb to unblock it. You'll find a few Dragoons in the Maintenance Shaft GP, so take care of them and keep moving. In the Skybridge Hera, use the Boost Ball to activate the orb cannon and launch yourself across the gap.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Elysia - Bot Bowling (Time: 4:16)
- In the Junction, you'll find more Tinbots. If you want to have some fun with them, go into Morph Ball mode and Boost into them, just like you were bowling. Anyway, once they're down, head to the eastern exit of the Junction.
- Once you get back to the AU chamber, use the Morph Ball mode to get into the door closing it off, then make like Sonic using the Boost Ball to open it. Head up to the console in front of it and hit A. This will open up the maintenance hatch; use the Morph Ball to head inside, and follow the tube down. As you step out, you'll be attacked by a gang of Tinbots. They keep respawning for awhile, so just keep blasting until they stop coming. At the south end of the room is the access point, so approach it and hit A to administer the vaccine.
- You'll see a brief cutscene where Ghor will show up, shoot at you, then make a dramatic exit. After he's gone, head back up through the Morph Ball tunnel and talk to the AU by hitting A at the front console.
-
Repair Severed Cables
- Once the cutscene's over with, head back to the save point and save, then start backtracking toward your ship. As you do, you'll start getting alerts that it's under attack.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Elysia - Halfpipe (Time: 3:57)
- In the SteamYou Barracks, use the Boost Ball in the loop on the west wall to bring up a halfpipe, then use the Boost Ball to roll up the halfpipe. Use it to reach the upper level, then use the Wii Remote to open up the shutters and head up the elevator, and move on.
- In the Transit Hub, use the Boost Ball to activate the kinetic cannon, which will launch you to the west, saving you a bit of a trip around the whole area. A trio of Dragoons will attack in Hub Access, to take them out and keep going. On the zipline at Zipline Station Alpha, you'll face the shutters, the bomb drone, and the kamikaze drones, so keep firing the whole way. In the Main Docking Access there's a few Dragoons, so take them out and head forward to find Ghor whacking away at your ship, and spoiling for a fight.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Elysia - To the Ship (Time: 4:12)

Boss Fight: Ghor
- Ghor will start out the boss fight with a big shield in front of him. He'll alternate ramming you, jumping to create a short range shock wave, and firing missiles at you. The energy source for the shield is on his back, so wait for him to try ramming you, dodge, then blast away at his back when he's stopped. Once the shield power source is down, get back in front of him and fire at his face. He'll regenerate the shield eventually, so repeat the process until a short cutscene plays.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Elysia - Boss - Ghor (Time: 8:02)
- Now he'll bring a physical shield in front of his face, which you can bring down by attacking the little node at his feet. In this phase, he'll either ram you, shoot missiles at you, fire a big beam at you, and charge across the arena while spinning his torso. To attack the node, go into Morph Ball mode and use the Boost Ball on it. Your best bet for doing this is when he's stationary and firing the big laser in a circle around him. Once the node's down, blast away at his head again.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Elysia - Plasma Beam (Time: 6:00)
- Once enough damage has been done, he'll go into Hypermode. The good news is there's no trick now to bring down his defenses. The bad news is he's in Hypermode, so your shots aren't going to do much damage. You can either weather the storm and wait for him to come out then blast him, or you can fight fire with fire by going into Hypermode yourself and blasting away at him. Once you've done enough damage, he'll go down, and you'll get the Plasma Beam.

Repair Severed Cables, Part II
- With your ship damaged, you'll be unable to either leave the planet, or even land your ship anywhere else on Elysia. Use the new Plasma Beam to melt the debris blocking the exit, and start heading back toward the AU Chamber. In the upper floor of the Main Docking Bay, turn toward the window and you'll spot another panel you can melt. Do so, and grab the Missile Expansion behind it with the Morph Ball. There'll be some Elysian Shriekbats in the Main Docking Access, so take them out before you swing across.
- In the Arrival Station, use the Grab Ledge to hoist yourself up onto the overhang pointing toward the floating spire. Use the Boost Ball on top to activate the orb cannon, then use it to launch yourself to the spire and grab an Energy Tank. Launch yourself back over afterward, and continue on.
- In the Transit Hub, you can now melt the debris around the orb cannon and take a shortcut all the way to Zipline Station Bravo. In the lower floor of the Aurora Lift, you can melt some debris to find some crates that, when you blast them, will each yield a 100 energy power up. When you get to the AU Chamber, use the panel to talk to it, then head down the maintenance shaft again.
- Approach the broken panels, and hit A to use the Plasma Beam and weld them back together. Use the Wii Remote to trace the lines and reconnect the panels. There are three such panels, and once they're reconnected, head back to the AU and use the control panel.
-
Upgrade The Gunship
- Go back to the Spire Dock, and head to the zipline in the south east, and head through the door. Take a right down the corridor, and take out the Sky Puffers hanging about. Jump to the platform on the left, above the gap, and you'll find the path blocked. On the right, you'll see a platform rising and falling. Jump onto it, and use Morph Ball mode to go into the small tunnel. Once on the other side, you'll see some controls to the north. Manipulate them with the Wii Remote to open the shutter.
- To the right of those controls, you'll see a slab you can melt. Do so, then use the Morph Ball to climb into the pipe. Head through the pipe, and through the Morph Ball maze; it's not a complicated one, just use bombs or the Wii Remote to jump up the ledges. At the end, you'll find a Ship Missile Expansion. Go back through the shutter you opened, then go through the door to the south to find a landing site. Try to call in the ship, and the AU will take off the security locks. Use the Bomb Slot to bring down the shutters, then land your ship and save.
- Now, go back to where you first entered the Security Station, and open the orange door. Step through, and you'll see a pair of walls you can't hop up yet. The item you'll need to get through here is back on Bryyo, so hop back in your ship and fly back to the planet.

Find The Screw Attack
- Land in the Fiery Airdock, then head to the Gel Refinery Site. On the south wall, you'll see a bunch of ice blocking a Morph Ball path. Blast it away with the Plasma Beam, then go inside. All the way to the left, there's a Fuel Gel spout; bomb it to blow yourself to the higher level, then head right. There'll be two more spouts to bomb, then follow the rest of the tunnel, watching out for a couple vents above you.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Firey Airdock (Time: 5:35)
- Eventually, you'll find the path blocked by a pipe. Bomb it, then go back down and use the last Fuel Gel spout you bombed to propel you to the next section of the path. You'll land by the door, which is covered in ice; blast it away, then head through.
- Get the lore behind the panel you see right as you come in. Follow the corridor around, and head through the next door. Go down the path til it ends, then go into the Morph Ball tunnel. Use the Grapple Lasso to pull down the panels on the north wall, then jump from those panels to the east to get a Missile Expansion.
- Now, head to the Main Lift. Head through the tunnel like you did before, and when you get to the main room, break away the ice on the north wall, then head through the Morph Ball tunnel. Go through the orange door.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Teleported (Time: 6:05)
- In here, shoot the ice holding the battering ram to the ceiling, then use a bomb in the golem's Bomb Slot. The golem will activate a rotator in the center of the room. Use the Boost Ball inside to rotate the room, then when it locks into place, use a bomb to get out of it, then bomb the golem again. This will open up a warp point. Head on through.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Cliffside Airdock (Time: 5:16)
- When you come out the other side, head forward and blast the ice out of your way. Go through the door, then blast the ice floors ahead of you until you hit bottom. Go through the door to the east. Again, blast the ice floor below you, then head through the door at the bottom.
- In this room, hop across the platforms and grab the Screw Attack resting in the Reptilicus Golem's outstretched hand. Use the Screw Attack to jump over to the east side of the room; just keep hitting B to jump as you're in the air. Go through the door, then use the Screw Attack to jump up the walls. At the top, go through the door and shoot a charged shot at the Chozo statue's hand, then Screw Attack over to it. From there, jump to the Reptilicus Golem's head to find a Ship Missile Expansion. Now head to the door to the west with the Screw Attack.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Bryyo - Hall of the Golems (Time: 6:41)
- Use the Grapple Lasso to take the lock off the door, then head through, and Screw Attack to the other side. Back in the Imperial Caverns, use the Screw Attack to ascend the walls, then head back to the main section of Bryyo. As you make your way back to the ship, you'll hear that they found the Valhalla, and you'll get the coordinates. Return to your ship, then head back to Elysia for now. We'll head to the Valhalla after we've found more Energy Cells.

Upgrade The Gunship, Part II
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Elysia Part II Walkthrough (Time: 9:34)
- Head to Landing Site A, then go to the Security Station. Head through the orange door, then use the Screw Attack to get up to the upper level. Once there, head through the door to the north.
- In the next room, you'll see some Phazon Vines. Go into Morph Ball mode, and put yourself on the pressure plate in the center of the room. Go into Hypermode and use the Hyperball to clear the vines, then head through the Morph Ball tunnel. Go through the door at the end, then use the Boost Ball to activate the tram, and head to the next area.
- Once you're on the other side, a pair of Pirate transports will pass by and lob a few shots at you. You can't take them down, so just head through the door. Head down the corridor, and into the next room. Follow the Aeromine into the Concourse. Once you're there, a variety of Pirates will attack, but nothing you haven't seen before. Head to the opening in the west wall, on the opposite side of the big hump next to the entrance. Blow through the security doors with charged shots, and head up the elevator.
- On top of the center column, there'll be three Armored Troopers. Take them out as quick as you can; they can all go into Hypermode, so you'll want to be careful. Head across the bridge to the north side of the room, and follow the corridor around. Watch out for the Turrets in the ceiling.
- Head through the door in the south of the room. Use the bomb slots on the wall to remove the floor until you hit the bottom. When you reach the outside ledge, a Pirate transport will attack. A few charged Plasma Beam shots to its nose will take it out, then head through the door to the south. Swing across the chasm, and take out the Pirate Militia that attacks, then head through the door.
- A pair of Armored Aerotroopers will attack you; take out their armor with missiles, then blast them out of the air with the Plasma Beam. You can't do much with the Chozo Observatory right now, but remember its location, as it's key to ferreting out the various hidden items.
- Head to the elevator in the southeast corner of the room, head down, then go through the door. Use the Plasma Beam to fix the panel next to the elevator, then head up. Watch out for the Jumpmines along the floor, then head out the door on the upper level.
- First, take out the Swarmbots. Wait for them to start circling up, and fire a charged shot into the energy charging between them. Once that's done, shoot the survivors out of the air before they ram you, then use the Screw Attack to reach the platform across the gap. Another Pirate transport will strafe you and leave when you land. Dodge the attacks, then use the Screw Attack to reach the door and head to the next room.
- Take out the Aeromines, then head through the door at the other side of the corridor. Head up this corridor, now, and take out the turret. Blast the glass door out of the way, and head into the larger chamber. Shoot out the nodes at the west and east side of the room to retract the arms holding the turbine. Once it's open, jump across to the other side and head through the door.
- Use the Screw Attack to cross the gap, and take out some of the Puffers, then head through the door. Head across the bridge, and lay waste to the Steambots with your Plasma Beam. In the next room, Screw Attack across the gap. In the next room, head up the elevator and approach the landing pad. The AU will unlock it, so use the Bomb Slot to take the shutters off, then land your ship. Use the console next to the landing pad to upgrade the ship with the Grapple Beam.
-
Collect The Bomb Components
- You'll find the first Bomb Component in the Turbine Chamber, but you can't grab it just yet. First, head to the Chozo Observatory. As you cross Skybridge Athene, a Pirate transport will start attacking the 'bots on it. You can either let it take them out, or you can fire on the transport. Additionally, some Swarmbots will attack as you cross.
- Some Crawltanks will attack in Maintenance Shaft TA, so take them out. A Shield Trooper will attack you as you pass through the Turbine Chamber. In the Gearworks, a Pirate transport will take out the gears, letting you grab the Missile Expansion as you pass through with the Screw Attack.
- Once you're in the Observatory, use the ship's Grapple Beam to pull up the column in the center. Head to the bottom, then fix the broken panel. Have the ship drop the projector back where it was, then use the Bomb Slot to activate it.
- Use the platforms around the edge of the room to climb up to the Morph Ball tunnel in the southeast side of the room, and activate the bomb slots that you can reach. This will get you the map of the rest of Elysia, a map of the hidden items in Bryyo, and a map of the hidden items on Norion.
- Head back out of the tunnel, and climb up until you can reach the opening in the top of the room, to the north, then head through the door there. In the Botanica, take out the Dragoon drones, then head through the tunnel to the north to find a save point. Back in the Botanica, pull the block from the wall in front of you with the Grapple Lasso, and climb up. Do the same for the next block.
- Head through the Ice Missile door, then go around the top half of the Broken Lift, and back into the Turbine Chamber. You'll be attacked by a Berserker Lord; fight him exactly the same way as you did the first one. The only difference here is his shell takes a little longer to take down. After it's down, you can go into Hypermode and finish him off quickly.
- Once he's down for the count, use the Boost Ball on the four latches around the side, then use the Wii Remote to manipulate the control panel in the north side of the room to open up the floor. Call in your ship to lift the turbine out of there. The console will turn around, opening up a Morph Ball tunnel for you to go through, so head on through, then go through the door.
- Now it's off to the Concourse...unfortunately, there'll be a somewhat lengthy detour before you can get the bomb part. Head down the corridor and take out the Crawltanks, then go through the door at the end. Head down the walkway, then turn to the north. You'll have to time your Screw Attack to get into the rotary hatch while it's open, then head through the door to the west.
- Fix the panel on the left with the Plasma Beam, then head through the orange door. To the right, you'll see a small Grab Ledge, jump up to it and enter the Morph Ball tunnel. Head straight through it, and make sure you've got some speed to make it to the opposite platform, then head through the door.
- You'll be attacked by an Aerotrooper who can go into Hypermode, so take him out before you head forward. Use the Screw Attack to reach the floating platforms. On the second one, a Pirate transport will attack you; take it out so you can reach the third. The third's shutter is rotating around, so time your jump so you get there when it's open. From there, you'll be able to reach the other side, so head through the door.
- Inside, you'll find a lot of dead pirates. Always a pleasant sight, but it doesn't necessarily bode well for you. Head through the orange door to the east to find a save point, then head to the door in the north. The door in front of you can't be opened yet, so head to the one to the north, and activate the elevator inside, and you'll see an Energy Tank in the containment field. You can't grab it yet, so head through the door up top.
- You'll see some hungry Metroids contained here. Head down the hallway; in the first circular room, use the Boost Ball to open the shutter and head through. Continue down the hallways until you reach the door in the Northwest corner. Head up the elevator, then into the next room.
- Head straight, and between the two Metroid tanks you'll find a Morph Ball tunnel. Head inside, and you'll find yourself on top of one of the circular rooms. Use a bomb on the floor opposite of where you came in to drop down, then head east, then south. You'll find a crack in the southern wall you can bomb to reach another Morph Ball tunnel.
- Head inside, and bomb the other end, then follow the hallway around until you find the end. On the north wall is a panel you can rip off with the Grapple Lasso; do so, then pull the Energy Cell from the wall, then blast open the containment glass and grab the Seeker Missile. Turn around and use it to open the door by holding the Down Button on the D-Pad and aiming to lock onto the five points on the door.
- Head through the door, and make your way back to the Morph Ball tunnel, then head through. Uh oh. Those Metroid cages are suspiciously empty. Head to the eastern circular room, and one of the Phazon Metroids will attack you. If it latches onto you, go into Morph Ball mode and use a bomb to knock it off. Pelt it with Plasma Beam shots to get rid of it; you can try to hit it with the Ice Missiles, but it tends to phase out of the way; it won't dodge, though, if you hit it with one while it's charging you. Just before you exit this room, another one will pop out, so deal with it the same way, then head to the next room.
- Keep backtracking, and take out the Metroids that attack you. Use the Seeker Missiles to open any of the locked doors barring your way. The path is pretty straight forward, so consult the map if you feel you've gotten turned around. When you get back to Xenoresearch A Lift, you can grab that Energy Tank you passed before.
- Back in the Research Pod Lift, open up the door with the Seeker Missiles, then head up the elevator. Head through the door at the top, then take out the Armored Trooper in the hallway, and head outside. A pair of Metroids will attack you, so take them out, then use the Zipline to head back across. Another pair will meet you when you land, so take them out as well and head through the door.
- Head down the hallway, then head through the Ice Missile door into the Concourse. Go through the Morph Ball tunnel to the left to find a Missile Expansion. Turn toward the center of the room, and use the Seeker Missiles to hit the targets and unlock that side, then head back and use the Seeker Missiles on the wall to open up the Elevator. Head down, then into the main chamber. Use the Seeker Missiles again on the north, and east sides of the center column to unlock it. Call in your ship to come pick it up.
- Now for the third component. Head to Skytram East, and go back to the first part of Skytown. Backtrack over to the Transit Hub. On the way, we'll take a slight detour to grab a few things. Head over to the Construction Bay. From near the northern exit, head to the east, and look toward the big thing you swung under. You should be able to reach the top of it with the Screw Attack, netting you a Missile Expansion.
- Once you've got that, continue backtracking to Transit Hub. When you get there, use the zipline, not the cannons, and watch out for the shutters and mine layers. Use the Seeker Missiles on the box hanging from the central platform in the north east to unlock it, then call in the gunship to pick it up.
-
Dropping The Bomb
- Head back to the Spire Dock. Once you're there, have the gunship drop the bomb into the Spire's cargo bay. Now head back to the AU Chamber, and use the console to talk to the big brain. The AU will give you the bad news that you'll have to personally drop the bomb on the Leviathan. Once you've got the mission, head back to the Spire Dock. You won't have the opportunity to save between accepting the mission and going to do it.
- Once you're on the Spire Dock, the AU will cut the cords, and send you hurtling toward the Leviathan. The Pirates, though, won't take kindly to it, and send attack waves to try and stop the bomb. Naturally, it's your job to fight them off. Concentrate your fire on the Transports, as they'll be the only ones directly attacking the Spire itself. If you feel yourself getting overwhelmed by the ground troops, go into Hypermode and take them out. Use the Seeker Missiles to take out the Jolly Roger drones quickly.
- Once you've taken care of the Pirates, you'll find yourself in front of the control panel. Hit A to use the console, and turn off the engines, then head over to the escape pod. Head inside, and use the console. You'll find the pod malfunctioning, so go into Morph Ball mode to go into the access tunnel. At the bottom, use the Plasma Beam to take out the debris blocking you, then go about welding the panels back together. To get into the middle chamber, use the Grapple Lasso to pull the door off. The panel on the east side is behind a plate you'll also have to pull off.
- Once all three are fixed, head back to the Morph Ball hatch, and return to the pod. Remember, as before, the announcements aren't just for dramatic effect, you do have a time limit. Once you're back to the pod, hit A to activate it, then push the Wii Remote toward the screen to turn on the thrusters. After the cutscene, you'll find yourself back in Skytown. Backtrack to your ship, and head over to the seed.

Boss Fight: Helios
- Helios will begin the fight surrounded by Swarmbots. Keep firing into the center to try and stun him as he rolls around the arena, and do your best to dodge his attacks. Eventually, he'll come out of the ball, and several sets of Swarmbots will each start charging up attacks. Hit each with a charged shot as it's charging up to prevent them from attacking you.
- Occasionally, he'll surround himself with a ring of Swarmbots, with five making an inner ring. Use the Seeker Missiles to hit these five at the same time to stop his attack. Another attack he uses is to create a tornado, sucking you in and deflecting attacks. Use bombs on this form to halt the attack.
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 - Elysia - Boss - Helios (Time: 7:50)
- Another form of attack he has is making the Swarmbots into a humanoid form. He'll stomp around, and throw big balls of energy at you. Dodge the shots, and open fire on the joints; you'll be able to hit the ones that grow in size. Hit the leg joints, and he'll topple over, allowing you to get some hits in.
- Keep firing at Helios as much as you can through these attack, and eventually his core will open up. It's only vulnerable to Phazon based attacks, so go into Hypermode and blast away.
- After he's dead, pick up the Hyper Missiles. Shoot the four spiky things that appear in the four corners of the room to bring out the Seed's core. When it shows itself, hit A to vent Phazon at it and destroy it.

Finding Gandrayda
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Pirate Home World Part I (Time: 10:32)
- In your ship, you'll get word from the Olympus' AU Unit that they've found a message from Gandrayda, and you'll get the location of the Pirate Homeworld. Take your ship there, or go back to Bryyo and Norion; now's a good time to pick up some of the upgrades if you wish, though you still won't be able to get everything. If you do, skip ahead to the Upgrades section. When you're done scavenger hunting, head down to the Pirate Homeworld.
- Once you've landed, head through the first door. Go down the hall, and take out the two Crawltanks on the wall. Go through the next door, and take out the Remora Turret on the other side. The two compartments on the side you can't open, so go into the elevator, and use the panel inside to head to the third floor. Head down the eastern hallway, and go through the orange door.
- You'll come out in a courtyard. Whatever you do, stay underneath the walkways, and don't venture out into the acid rain. Exposure to it will kill Samus in seconds. Follow the path under the walkways into the northeast corner of the room. Jump up to the Grab Ledge and into the Morph Ball tunnel.
- Follow the tunnel, and you'll eventually hit a fork. Go down the left fork first to find a Missile Expansion. Now, go back and take the right fork. When you come out the exit, go to the terminal in the wall and take the Energy Cell. This will open the Morph Ball tunnel across from it, and shut down the fans that were blocking you near the Grab Ledge.
- Head through the tunnel, then through the one past the fans. When you come out the other side, head along the corridor, and take out the Crawltanks along the wall. Drop down the hole in the ground, then head through the next corridor, again, taking out the Crawltanks. At the end of the corridor, use the Grapple Lasso to pull on the hatch blocking the Morph Ball tunnel, and head in.
- The tunnel will lead you to the floor of a Pirate control room. Head to the right, and follow the tunnel to find a Missile Expansion. Now, go back and head to the left. At the end of the tunnel, you'll be dropped into a room holding the X-Ray Visor. Use the Seeker Missiles on the nodes to the south end of the room. The claw holding it will place the visor on the ground.
- Use the new visor to manipulate the control panel behind it. Press the buttons matching the four symbols displayed on the control panel, then turn toward the blocked vent. Shoot the claw holding the Phazon containers as they pass the blockage, then head through.
- At the other side, turn to the panel on the north wall, and use the X-Ray Visor to open up the door. Take the lift up, then head through the door. You'll see some Pirates working on the machine in the room, though you'll be unable to reach them. Head back down into Defense Access, and a pair of Armored Troopers will attack. Take them out, then head through the door to the west. About now, you'll receive a transmission from a captured GF Trooper, along with his coordinates.
- In the middle of the room is a big gate. To open it, go into the X-Ray Visor, and shoot the glowing nodes as they pop up. Then, go into Morph Ball mode, and roll into the hologram to head through. Grab the Missile Expansion sitting in the center of the thing before you move on.
- Take the elevator down to the first floor. With the X-Ray Visor, you can now use the terminal to the east side of the room, and get the Map. Head to your ship, and fly over to the Research Facility. Head through the eastern door, activate the elevator, and ride it up.
- At the top, blast open the hatch to the left, go into Morph Ball mode, and go through the tunnel. At the end of the tunnel, turn to the south, and shoot the hatch controls through the opening. Head back down the tunnel, and through the blue door.
- Head east in the big room, under the dead creature, and take out the Shriekbats that attack you. The vents in the floor will occasionally spit out Phazon Grubs, so blast them when they show up. Climb up the platforms on the north wall, and jump across to the one on the east wall. Head through the dead creature, and continue up the platforms. In the northwest corner of the room is a Grab Ledge leading into a Morph Ball tunnel, but before you head into it, Screw Attack to the ledge on the north all, then jump south from there onto the grab ledge to find a Missile Expansion. Now head into the Morph Ball tunnel.
- Follow the tunnel until you reach a Bomb Slot. Activate it, then head into the next higher level of the tunnel to the left. Speed across the red strip: While you're in there, the turret will shoot at you. Use bombs to take care of the enemies in here. You'll come to a pair of lifts. Use bombs or the Wii Remote to reach jump up the lifts, then head to the tunnel to the right. You'll see a fork. Head up, and use bombs to keep moving up and to the left; eventually you'll spot an Energy Tank. Use a double bomb jump to grab it, then head back down.
- Use a bomb to get the obstruction out of your way, then head down. Hop up to use the bomb slot, then head down into the hatch you just opened. Follow the tunnel all the way around, then repair the panel to the left. Now, use the X-Ray Visor and manipulate the controls to open the doors in the room below.
- Head back into the Morph Ball maze, and head to the right of the bomb slot. Use the Boost Ball on the half pipe to reach the right side. Head to the right, drop down, and use the Bomb Slot to open up the hatch in the middle of the half pipe. Head through the now-open hatch, bomb the obstruction, and you'll land back in the Scrapvault.
- As you come out of the Morph Ball, the alarms will go off, and some Commando Pirates will attack. Take them out, using Hypermode if they go into it first. Once they're down, head to the passage you opened to the east, and through the orange door.
- Turn on the X-Ray Visor as you pass through this hallway, and you'll see some laser tripwires along the way. Roll under them in Morph Ball mode. Through the next door, some Shield Assault Troopers and a Commando Trooper will spot you and raise the alarm. Yank their shields away with the Grapple Lasso, and take them out.
- Once they're dead, activate the control panel on the south end of the room. Take the elevator down, then go to the right and repair the panel. Then head to the left side, and pull the Energy Cell from the wall. Head back up the elevator, and take out the Metroids you just set free, then pick up the Missile Expansion in the now-open cage on the east side of the room.
- In the north part of the base of the middle column, use the Morph Ball to ride the tank up like an elevator, then head through the Ice Missile door. Head to the left through the door, and bomb open the cracked hatch. Follow the Morph Ball tunnel until you reach the circular machine. Go into the center of it, then use the Boost Ball to rotate it, and continue on to find a Missile Expansion.
- Head back to Metroid Processing and go through the Orange Door. Use the Seeker Missiles to hit the four nodes in front of you, take out the four Crawltanks that appear, then use the Screw Attack to ascend the wall. Watch out for the Puffer Mines, and try to take them out before you head over. Once over the wall, jump up the platforms and take the southern door.
- Through the door, Samus will spot the Hazard Shield upgrade, but you won't be able to grab it just heat. Head through the next door, and you'll see a GF Marine fighting some Pirates. Help him out, then head up to him. He'll give you the coordinates of where to find the Hazard Suit, i.e., the room you were just in.
- Head over to the console he approaches, and use the Wii Remote to time your turn with his commands and activate the lift. Head onto the lift, and ride up with him. At the top, you'll get a nasty surprise: It's Gandrayda in disguise.
-
Boss Fight: Gandrayda
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Gandrayda Boss Battle (Time: 6:30)
- She'll start the fight in her normal form. Fire away at her, and dodge her attacks as she flips and jumps around the room. She's got a ground-pound that sends a shockwave at you, just dodge to the side to avoid it. She's also got a homing disc attack that can be avoided by moving sideways. If she jumps at you and grabs on, shake the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk to shake her off.
- During the fight, she'll use numerous forms. She'll change into a Berserker, which you can fight just like the Berserker Knight in Bryyo. She'll also turn into an Aerotrooper, Rundas, and Ghor. She mimics the form of Ghor that requires the Boost Ball to weaken, so be careful not to Boost yourself out into the acid rain.
- Finally, she'll even mimic Samus's Varia Suit form. Fight each the same way you fought them the first time. When you do enough damage, she'll open up the walls of the room. Whatever you do, stay toward the center of the room, and stay out of the acid rain.
- In the case of Samus, just do your best to dodge her attacks, and lay into her. When you do enough damage, she'll turn on her cloaking field. You'll have to track her with the X-Ray Visor at this point, so just keep attacking. Eventually, she'll go down and you'll pick up the Grapple Voltage. Target the panel next to the shield in the south end of the room, and shoot out the Grapple Lasso. Pull the Analog Stick toward you to drain the energy and open the shield, then head through.
-
Find The Acid Shield Unit
- In the next room, activate the hand scanner on the west wall by scanning the panel next to it, then use the hand scanner to call the train. Get inside, then use the Wii Remote to interact with the panel to the west, and head down the tracks.
- Once on the other side, head through the door to the north, then use the Grapple Voltage to take down the force field. Get back into your ship, and fly back to Skytown.

Retrieve The Spider Ball
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Spider Ball (Time: 6:48)
- Land in Landing Bay A, then head to the Junction. Once there, exit through the southern door. Use the Grapple Voltage to undo the lock, then take the zipline to the other side. About half way through, the zipline will break, so use the Screw Attack to reach the other side.
- In the next room, use the Grapple Voltage to drain energy from the force field, then go through the Morph Ball tunnel and into the next room. Use the Seeker Missiles to hit the four nodes locking the tunnel, then head inside. At the bottom, climb onto the ledge in the east side of the room, and use the Grapple Lasso to yank on the gear lying on the floor. As it's flipping in the air, hit it with a charged shot to knock it into place, then retrieve the Spider Ball.
- Once you've got it, drop down the hole near the statue, then continue down until you're at the bottom. Go into Morph Ball mode, and go out the tunnel in the west wall. Use Z while in Morph Ball mode to stick to the magnetic rails, and navigate across the walls.
- At the bottom of the first path is a gap; wait until the middle section stops flaring, then drop down, hitting Z again to grab onto the bottom path. Continue to the left, then drop down again to latch onto the lower path when you hit a dead end. Continue on to the left and up, avoiding the flares. Continue following it until you reach a place where you can stand up.
- Directly across from the rail you just got off is another one. Go into Morph Ball mode and start following it. At the end of the rail, hold B and use the Boost Ball to jump across to the other side, and do the same when this path ends, then continue to the right to get a Missile Expansion, then head back up the way you came.
- In the northwest corner is a rail leading up. Follow it up, using the Boost Ball to jump from wall to wall, and eventually you'll reach the entrance. Head back to Zipline Station Charlie.
- Use the Screw Attack to reach the platforms to the northeast, then use the Spider Ball to climb up the magnetic rails. It's pretty straight forward, so use the Boost Ball to jump gaps until you reach the end of the first rails. Follow the tunnel to the right, then get on the next set of rails.
- At the first break, time your jump to avoid the sparks. Shortly after, you'll see a circular rail above you. Use a Double Bomb Jump to reach it, then bomb yourself up from the rail to grab the Energy Tank. Keep following the rails to the right, using the Boost Ball to jump the gaps and avoid the sparks, then use the Screw Attack to reach the other end of the room, and continue back to your ship.

Find The Acid Shield Unit, Part II
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Pirate Home World Part II (Time: 9:26)
- Fly your ship back to the Pirate Homeworld, and land at the Research Facility. From the landing site, head back toward where you fought Gandrayda, just like before; with the Spider Ball, you can pick up a couple items you couldn't get the first time.
- In the Scrapvault, take out the Pirates hanging around, then climb back up to the Morph Ball tunnel into the Scrapworks. Use the Spider Ball to take a shortcut up to the halfpipe, then use the Boost Ball to reach the magnetic rail on the left. Head to the right on the rail, then drop down. Use either a bomb or the Wii Remote to hop onto the block to the right, then from there use a Double Bomb Jump to reach the Ship Missile Expansion.
- Continue heading toward where you found Gandrayda, and stop in the room where you first saw the Hazard Shield. Use the Spider Ball to climb the rail in the northwest corner of the room, and head through the tunnel until it drops you in a small room. From here, head into the next tunnel.
- You'll find yourself under the room, in a chamber with two spinners. Go into the one on the right, and rotate the upper part of the pillar until it lines up with the lower part. Use a bomb to get out of the spinner, then use the steam vents along the pillar to climb up and reach the Missile Expansion.
- Go back down and rotate the upper part until the second magnetic rail is showing. Then go into the spinner on the left and rotate the bottom section of the pillar until it matches up. Head up the rail then through the tunnel at the top, and you'll end up in the control room. Use the Hand Scanner to bring the Hazard Shield up to you and grab it.
- As soon as you do, some Assault Aerotroopers will blow out the windows. Take them down using the charged shots of your Plasma Beam. Once they're dead, use the control panel at the south end of the center pillar. This will open up a hatch in the northwest corner of the room, allowing you to exit more easily...unfortunately, some an Assault Trooper and some Commando Trooper Pirates will show up and raise the alarm, so take them out.
-
Get Past The Acid Rain
- After they're dead, head back to Creche Transit. Double jump up to the grab ledge on the west side of the room, and around the corner you'll see some Phazon crystals. Use the Hyper Missiles to blow through it, and head through the door. Inside, go to the spinner on the furthest cage in front of you, and use the Boost Ball to activate it, sending you up to the Bomb Slot in the ceiling. Activate it, then repeat the process with the one closest the door to unleash the Metroid Hatcher.
-
Boss Fight: Metroid Hatcher
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Metroid Hatcher Boss Fight (Time: 3:37)
- The Hatcher has mostly basic attacks. It will try to ram into you, or spin like a top and run into you with its tentacles. Just dodge to the side to avoid these.
- Start the fight by shooting at the tentacles hanging from its body. Use rapid shots from the Plasma Beam, or if you want you can sometimes hit them with the Screw Attack. The Seeker Missiles work particularly well, as you can hit them all at once.
- When you've damaged all the tentacles enough, he'll retract them and open his mouth. Shoot a charged shot down its gullet quickly to prevent it from spewing out Metroids, then when it's stunned, use the Grapple Lasso to yank off a tentacle. Repeat the process three more times to finish him off.
-
Get Past The Acid Rain, Part II
- Once he's dead, use the spinner in the central cage to launch yourself into the Morph Ball tunnel overhead. Head to the right along the tunnel, until you see a magnetic rail overhead. Hop up to it, then follow the rail around the room, using the Boost Ball to jump any gaps, until you find an Energy Tank.
- You'll end up back on the floor, so use the spinner to launch yourself back up. This time, follow the tunnel past the magnetic rail and activate the Bomb Slot at the end. You'll be dropped between the Screw Attack panels, so wall jump up to the door and continue on.
- In the next room is another Transit Station; stop in the save point first, then use the train to head back to the beginning of the Pirate Homeworld. Head out the door to the east, and use the Bomb Slot to use the gate. Use the elevator to get down to the first floor, and use the Grapple Voltage to open up door to the right of the elevator. Step inside, and the car will fall a bit. Back out of the broken elevator, and shoot the cable above it. Jump across the shaft to grab a Missile Expansion.
- Head back up to the third floor, and get to the Command Courtyard. When you get there, you'll be attacked by some Assault Troopers, hiding behind Phazite barricades. Take them out, then use the Grapple Voltage on the panel to the north to take down the force field.
-
Disable The Defense System
- Inside, head through the hallway into the next room. As you enter, a pair of Commando Troopers will attack you. Take them out, and you'll fight four small Crawltanks, followed by two bigger ones. Kill everything, then go through the Morph Ball tunnel in the east wall.
- The tunnel will send you to the Defense Access. First, use the Grapple Voltage to disable the force field that was blocking you before, then use the Spider Ball to ascend the magnetic rail in the southwest corner of the room where you just arrived. Follow the rail up, using bombs to get past the breaks in the track. At the top, head through the door, then take the train to the Mining Facility.
- When you arrive, head through the door directly to the east to find a save point. From the train terminal, head through the door to the south. Once you step through, prepare to fight more Assault and Commando troopers. Once they're down, blast the Phazon containers in the center of the room to get a lot of health back if you need it, then head into the small hallway in the southeast corner of the room, and use the terminal there.
- Hit the top right of the first screen to bring in the drill, then hit the cursor on the right. Head out of the hallway, and grab the Missile Expansion you just freed, then head back to the terminal, and hit the cursor on the left. Use the Boost Ball on the halfpipe that's created to reach the door to the south.
- Use the Grapple Lasso to pull the barrier away, then kill the Crawltanks that attack you. Use the Spider Ball to ascend the rail to the south, and head to either of the two sides. Drop down into the spinner, and use the Boost Ball to undo the clamps, then repeat on the other side.
- The lift will drop to the bottom, so follow it then head out the door. A Phazon Harvester Drone will knock out the bridge in front of you. You can't kill it, so instead you'll have to make due with stunning it by shooting the little orb at the bottom. Climb up the platforms on the sides of the room, and avoid the drone's attacks as much as you can.
- When you get to the next room, take out the Jolly Roger drones, then jump across to the Grab Ledge. Make sure to time your jump to avoid the green energy beam, because it hurts. A few more drones will attack when you reach the middle platform, so take them out and continue on through the door.
- Head around the hallway until you reach the hand scanner in the northwest corner. Activate it, then ride the lift down. At the bottom, you'll be attacked by a bunch of Assault Troopers. What you'll have to do is wait for the beam in the center of the room to start sucking up Phazon ore.
- When this happens, attack one of the Pirates, who'll be holding on for dear life to send him knocking into the cannon. When this happens, fire a charged shot at one of the warning-light holograms coming from the cannon. Do this four times, then jump onto the remains of the cannon and you'll get the Nova Beam.
- With the Nova Beam, you'll now be able to shoot through Phazite. And not just the panels you see, but this includes most of the Pirate Armor. Use the Nova Beam in conjunction with the X-Ray Visor, and you'll be able to snipe most of the tougher enemies from here on out in one shot.
- Turn toward the Phazite panel in the northwest corner, and use the X-Ray Visor to target the nodes. Shoot them with the Nova Beam to activate the control panel, then use it to open up the shutters. Ride the lift up, use the X-Ray Visor and the Nova Beam to activate the node behind the Phazite panel directly south of the elevator, then use the control panel to bring down the Phazite. Head through the door, and use the X-Ray Visor to shoot the little orb inside the drill. Drop down the hole where the drill was, and head through the green door.
- Head to the right, and pick up the Energy Cell. This will open up a hatch leading into the main chamber. Instead of heading down there, though, head back to the Main Cavern, and then head through the green door.
- Inside, take out the swarm of Crawlmines coming at you, then use the X-Ray Visor and Nova Beam to hit the nodes behind the Phazite panel. Take out the Metroid that comes out by sniping it in the brain with the Nova Beam and X-Ray Visor, and grab the Missile Expansion, then head through the door to the east. Clear the debris around the landing pad, then call in your ship and save.
- Fly over to the Research Facility, and go to Processing Access. In the center of the hallway, there's two nodes behind the Phazite panels. Hit them both, and use the Screw Attack to ascend the walls. At the top, fire three missiles at the shield to bring it down, and grab the Ship Missile Expansion.
- Now, head back to the main area, and head to Defense Access. Face the Phazite panel to the east, and shoot the four nodes as they light up, then head through the green door. Take out the Assault Trooper and the turret, then use the Grapple Voltage on the panel to the east.
- Next, climb the platforms, starting from the one jutting out the northeast side of the central spire. You'll find another turret, and a Shield Assault Trooper. For fun, you can just use the Grapple Voltage to drain the Shield Trooper of his energy. Once you get to the top, use the control panel to open up the Phazite panels around the tower.
- Doing so will also unleash some Commando Troopers on you, so take them out with the Nova Beam/X-Ray Visor combo. As you head back down, shoot the little balls inside of each Phazite panel to disable the shields around the Bomb Slot. Head back up and activate it to disable the defense. The Troopers won't stop spawning until you take down the defenses, so hurry up there.
-
Escort The Demolition Troopers
- Now that the Federation troops are in town, head back to the Skyway Access to meet up with Admiral Dane. You may want to head back to your ship and save first. Alternatively, this is another good place to go back and get some items, since now you have all the upgrades you'll need to get almost everything. Skip down to the Upgrades section below if you want to do that.
- Once you've got things in order, meet with the Admiral, and he'll give you your next objective: You've got to escort a squad of GF demolitions troopers to the end of the cargo line. Don't worry too much, though, they can hold their own, and you'll only have a handful with you at a time, so it's almost impossible for them to be all wiped out at once.
- After the Admiral finishes talking, one of the troopers will destroy the gate blocking the door. When you're ready to go, talk to the trooper standing guard by the blue door, then head through.
- Through the door, use the Grapple Voltage to open up the gates for the troopers, then jump up through the gap and head forward. Go through the door on the right, then head into the gauntlet. This area's pretty straight forward, so you can't really get lost. Do your best to take out the Pirates quickly, and keep the Demolition Troopers alive. Don't be afraid to go into Hypermode if you need to. Toward the end, you'll find a Berserker Knight. With the X-Ray Visor and the Nova Beam, he should go down easily. Right after, you'll fight a trio of Commando Troopers. Go into Hypermode and waste them quickly before they can take out the Demolition Troopers on your side.
- After the trio goes down, four of your remaining allies will blow the door open. Use the hand scanner beside it to open up the door, and head through. Drop down between the two doors to find a Phazon pool. Take a quick dip to replenish your energy before moving on. Use the hand scanner just above the pool to open the next blast door, then head forward.
- Jump on the equipment in the middle of the room, then jump to the Grab Ledge. As you approach the controls, you'll be attacked by the Pirate Commander.
- At least one of the group will go into Hypermode immediately, so you can't just snipe them with the Nova Beam and X-Ray Visor. Instead, go into Hypermode yourself and lay into them with the missiles and charged shots. The bunch of them should go down quickly, though you may have to use the Hypermode a few times.
- When you clear the room, some GF Troopers will come in, and bring the equipment back into the room so you can jump back up to the Grab Ledge. Use the terminal at the top to open up the roof, then call in an air strike from your gunship to bring down the door that's blocking you. The ship will land so you can save before heading to the seed.

Boss Fight: Omega Ridley
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Omega Ridley Boss Fight (Time: 7:52)
- Ridley will mostly attack you with projectile weapons from his mouth, either fire breath, or a beam. If you get close, he'll swipe at you with his mouth and claws. He'll also occasionally ram at you, and he'll do an attack where his tail charges up, and he fires a beam from his mouth as he spins around; jump to avoid it.
- As before, fire at his mouth whenever it's open. When you stun him, use the Grapple Lasso to pull open his chest armor, then go into Hypermode and lay into the weak point beneath.
- After you've done enough damage, he'll gain Phazite armor on his shoulders. Fire at his mouth again to stun him, and while he's stunned target his shoulders with the X-Ray Visor and blast at the weak points, highlighted in red. Destroy his armor, and he'll start flying around the arena through the holes in the walls, strafing you as he goes by.
- Eventually, he'll land again. When he does, fire away at his mouth. When you stun him, he'll go up on his hind legs, so go into Hypermode and throw everything you've got at his weak point. Eventually, he'll go down, and you'll get the Hyper Grapple. You'll automatically go into Hypermode, so use the new upgrade to overload the big hanging things by locking on with Z, thrusting the Nunchuck forward to send out the grapple, and pushing the Analog Stick forward to pump them full of Phazon. When that's done, hit A after the cutscene to vent your Phazon, and destroy the Seed.

Upgrades At Elysia
- After you've destroyed the Seed, the Olympus' AU will give you your next mission, but before you do that, let's go around and grab the upgrades you couldn't get the first time around. First off, head to Elysia, Landing Site B.
- Head to the Chozo Observatory. When you arrive, you'll find a Phaazoid there. These are some of the most annoying enemies around, and normally you would just run on by, but since you have to use this room, you should probably get rid of it. The annoying part is they can only be damaged at all while in Hypermode, so go into it and fire away. Do enough damage, and it'll split into smaller and smaller pieces, so blast away each piece as it comes at you. Watch out if it splits into a Red Phaazoid, though, as they're more aggressive and tougher.
- Once it's dead, head up to the Morph Ball tunnels around the wall. With the Spider Ball, now you'll be able to reach the Bomb Slots you couldn't before, which will give you item locations for Elysia, and some info about Tallon IV and Aether. At the base of the observatory is a Phazite panel. Use the X-Ray Visor and shoot the node inside with the Nova Beam, then climb up and use the hand scanner it unlocks to get the item locations for the Pirate Homeworld.
- Now, check your map. The little white dots indicate items you haven't grabbed, while the little white X's are ones you have. Right near you should be one in the Botanica, and the Concourse Ventilation. Head first to the Botanica, through the orange door at the top of the Observatory.
- Head toward the end of the hallway in the northeast, then turn south. Jump over to the alcove in the southeast corner of the room with the Screw Attack, then jump from there to the west to get a Missile Expansion.
- Now, head out the west exit of the Observatory, and head to the Concourse Ventilation. Here you'll find some more Phaazoids, so take them out, then use the Spider Ball track on the lower level to find a Missile Expansion. Now, head back to your ship and land at the Main Docking Bay.
- Once you land, head to the Steambot Barracks. Ride the elevator down, then take the Morph Ball tunnel to the right. Follow the tunnel to the left, then hold Z when you reach the steam vent to use the Spider Ball on the magnetic rail and grab a Missile Expansion.
- Next, head out to the Hoverplat Docking Site. Use the Screw Attack to reach the series of platforms over the abyss, and take out the Phaazoid there. On the curved platform is a magnetic rail; ride it on the Spider Ball, using Boosts to cross the gaps, to find a Ship Missile Expansion.
- Next head to Ballista Storage. On your way, in the Construction Bay, you can now use the Grapple Voltage to activate a Morph Ball elevator for the shortcut. Head down into Ballista Storage, and you'll face a Steamlord and a few Steambots. With the X-Ray Visor, you can track the Steamlord even when he's invisible, and the power of the Nova Beam should make short work of him. Once he's dead, turn to the turbines on the west side of the wall, and pour power into them with the Nova Voltage to short them out, then grab the Power Cell inside the compartment.
- That should finish things off for Skytown, so now head over to Norion.
-
Upgrades At Norion
- Land at Docking Hub Alpha, then go to the northwest corner of the landing pad. Follow the walkway behind your ship, and you'll see a Grapple Point. Swing over to grab the Missile Expansion.
- Next, head to the Cargo Hub, and go through the southern door. Halfway through the hallway is an Ice Missile Door. Blast it open, then head inside to grab the Missile Expansion, and head back to the Cargo Hub and go through the southeastern door, and go to Cargo Dock A.
- Down the ramp from the door, turn around and look for a Spider Ball track on the wall next to the ramp. It's on the southern side of the wall on the outside. Hop up to it in Morph Ball mode, and use it to reach the tunnel overhead. Follow the tunnel, and at the end use the Spider Ball to climb up and reach another Missile Expansion.
- Now, head back to the Cargo Hub, and go toward the western door which you weren't able to access last time you were here. Repair the panel beside the door with your upgraded arm cannon and head through the door.
- In the first room, use the Morph Ball to navigate the niche in the wall to the east. Avoid the blocks poking out toward the middle of the room to reach the Missile Expansion. Each block will blink before it comes out, so use that to learn the pattern.
- Continue into the next room, and head down the hallway. You'll be attacked by pools of Liquid Phazon. Blast away at them and the Phazon Grubs that they spawn. On the lower level of the room is a side chamber with information on Bryyo and Skytown.
- In the next room, you'll be attacked by some Hopping Metroids. Open fire on them with the Ice Missiles or charged shots from the Nova Beam to kill them. Once they're all dead, the Phazon structure blocking the door will be removed, and some Liquid Phazon will come at you. Take them out, then bring in your ship to save. You can jump from the top of your ship to the west to find another data terminal, with information on Norion.
- Use the Seeker Missiles to open the door on the western end of the room, and head through. Use the Morph Ball to go through the tunnel on the southern side of the room, then head through the door. Inside, you'll see several Phazon growths, which will glow briefly before a Metroid Hatcher attacks you. You have two options now: Either fight him as you did the first one, or go into the X-Ray Visor, and use the Nova Beam to snipe its brain and kill it in one shot.
- Once that's done with, the Phazon growths will explode, revealing a Morph Ball tunnel for you to navigate, leading to an Energy Cell. That should be it for Norion, so head on to Bryyo.
-
Upgrades At Bryyo
- Land at the Cliffside Airdock, and head to the Gateway. Take out the Reptilicuses, then head to the area on the west side. Go through the Morph Ball tunnel and head north. Use the upgraded arm cannon to blast the frozen lizard off the wall, and head through the Morph Ball tunnel it opens up to find a Missile Expansion.
- Next, head to the Falls of Fire. Use the Golem to head down, then use the Screw Attack to ascend the walls and find a Missile Expansion in the small alcove at the top.
- Continue on into the Hidden Court. Jump onto the platforms to the east, and use the Screw Attack to reach the ledge to the north, near the Puffers. Jump into the half pipe, and ascend the north side to find another Missile Expansion. Now head through the orange door to the north.
- Head through the hallway and take out the Hoppers, then follow the Morph Ball tunnel. Take out the Hoppers on the other side as well, and head through the door. Jump on the platforms to the north of the giant head, and go through the tunnel in its ear. Now, use the Ice Missiles to freeze the spouts of Fuel Gel and navigate the platforms until you reach the top of the head. Head into the small alcove there to find a Missile Expansion.
- Now, use the Command Visor to call in your ship to pick up the head, and go into the small alcove in the Fuel Gel pool that the head was blocking to find another Missile Expansion. Now, head to the Hanger Bay.
- Head through the orange and blue doors in the southeast corner, and head through the hallway on the other side, taking out the Hoppers as you go. In the Hall of the Golems is a Fargul Hatcher. Navigate the ledges to reach him, then fire Nova Beams down its throat to kill it. Don't get too close to it, or it will just knock you off its platform with a shockwave. Do your best to avoid or shoot down the swarm of wasps it shoots out.
- Once it's dead, you can set about activating the golems. First, though, grab the Lore behind the panel on the southern wall. Now, go to the golem on the southwest corner, and use the Grapple Voltage to remove its clamp, and activate it. It will activate the Magnetic Rails around the room. Use the Spider Ball to navigate them and grab the Missile Expansion. Watch out for the arcing electricity along the track, and remember you'll have to use every trick you know to reach it.
- Now, drop down from the track and you'll land in front of the third golem. Use an Ice Missile to undo its clamp and activate its Bomb Slot. The golem will freeze the fuel gel pool and spouts in the room, allowing you to climb up them and reach the door to the north.
- Once in the door, go through the Morph Ball tunnel. Go all the way to the right in the maze, and use a Bomb to ignite the Fuel Gel crystals. Next, head to the left, and jump up the giant fly traps, until you reach another set of Fuel Gel crystals. Ignite them, then go back to the upper level and head to the left. Drop down, and ignite the next set. At the bottom, head left and destroy the creature rotating around the hand.
- Hop onto the hand, then use a Double Bomb Jump to reach the Missile Expansion. Detonate the last set of Fuel Gel crystals to the right, then follow the maze out to the right. Go through the door at the end, and you'll find yourself back in the Hidden Court.
- You'll be behind the grate you couldn't get through before. Shoot the two nodes at the top to open it up. There isn't anything you can do here yet, so head back to the Hall of the Golems.
- Now, use the Nova/Plasma Beam to melt the debris blocking the Golem to the southeast, then activate its Bomb Slot. It will melt the wall blocking your way right next to it. Go through the orange door.
- Inside, use the Command Visor to drop the head onto the giant golem, which will activate and destroy the cage blocking the Ship Missile Expansion, as well as the door.
- Head through, and use the Spinner to turn the cage and bridge. Head out onto it, and wait for the Screw Attack walls to start coming together, then head up them to grab an Energy Tank. Since you can't get through the other doorway, head back to the Hanger Bay, call in your ship, and fly over to the Thorn Jungle Airdock.
- First, head to the Ancient Courtyard. Take out the Phaazoids, then use the Boost Ball to climb the halfpipe and grab a Missile Expansion. Continue onward to the North Jungle Court. You'll run into more Phaazoids on the way, so just run on by them.
- Once you get there, call in your ship to pick up the big battery in the northeast corner of the room. Once it's been picked up, head through the tunnel underneath where the battery was, which leads to the Machineworks Bridge. As before, use the Spinner to extend the bridge, and head back to the Hidden Court.
- Once there, call in your ship to drop the battery at the east end of the room. Now, head across the room using the Half Pipe and the platforms to reach the Energy Cell. Once you've got it, head back to the Hanger Bay, and fly over to the Fiery Airdock.
- Once you land, head over to the Gel Hall. Take out the Phaazoid, and head into the tunnel on the south side of the room, and create an ice block with the Ice Missile to jump up onto the platform and grab a Missile Expansion. Now head to the Temple of Bryyo.
- Take out the Warp Hounds and Reptilicuses, then head to the Phazite panel on the south wall. Use the X-Ray Visor and Nova Beam to shoot the control nodes, and open up the panel on the floor. Go into Morph Ball mode and head through the pool of Fuel Gel and head north, moving counterclockwise around the room, to find a Missile Expansion.
- Now, head back to Warp Site Alpha, and go to the snowy area. Head to the Tower. At the bottom is the beginning of a Spider Ball track. Navigate it back to the top to find an Energy Tank. That will finish things off for Bryyo, so now head over to the GFS Valhalla.

Explore The Derelict Ship
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Valhalla (Time: 4:18)
- Now that we've got eight of the nine Energy Cells, we'll be able to explore the dead ship fully. If you're wondering where the ninth one is, don't worry. As you land, head forward and look to the right, to the crashed fighter, and you'll find the last Energy Cell sitting near the wreckage.
- Go to the left of the door, and insert an Energy Cell in the slot, then use the control panel to the right of the door to open it. Head forward, and watch out for the Phazon Shriekbats; either dodge them or shoot them out of the air. Grapple Swing across to the next door, and you'll find a pair of unfortunate troopers. Shoot the one on the right's body to access the control panel, and open the door.
- In the next rooms, you'll find a few Phazon Metroids that you can snipe with the Nova Beam and X-Ray Visor. There's also swarms of Miniroids, but they shouldn't pose any threat. As you approach the door to the northwest, a pool of Liquid Phazon will attack. Dispatch it and its Grubs, then head through the door.
- Head into the main part of the room, and melt the debris on the east side of the room. Use a pair of Energy Cells on the two slots to bring up the ramps. Doing so will also bring out a pair of Phaz-Ing, which you can dispatch with the Grapple Lasso.
- Once they're dead, head up the ramps, and jump to the west side of the room. From there, jump to the north and head through the door to find a Missile Expansion. Now, head back to the Repair Bay.
- Navigate the broken walkways by moving clockwise around the room. At the top, jump across the center of the room while avoiding the arcing electricity, then head through the door in the southwest corner of the room.
- Take out the Phaz-Ing, then shoot out the window on the right and head through. Now, shoot out the corner on the window to the left, roll through in Morph Ball mode, and take out the other Phaz-Ing, then head through the door.
- From Security Access, head into the door to the east. If you're blasting boxes, be careful, because some of them contain Liquid Phazon. In the Auxiliary Lift, use the Grapple Lasso to pull the panel off the east wall, and insert an Energy Cell. Activate the lift with the control panel to the right and ride it up. At the top of the lift, turn to the back, and go into the Morph Ball tunnel there. Head straight down, and to the left to find a Missile Expansion.
- From there, head back to the right, and use the smaller pistons to elevate yourself. Continue to the right, using the pistons, until you're back at the top by the elevator. Head through the door at the top. In the next room, roll past the debris in Morph Ball mode, and go through the door.
- Through the door, you'll be attacked by several Metroids. Just snipe their brains with the Nova Beam, then use another Energy Cell to activate the door to your right and head through. Take out the Phaz-Ing there, and head through the door to the east to find an Energy Tank.
- Now, head back into Junction A and go through the green door. Take out the pool of Liquid Phazon, then continue on through the next door. Head up the ramp on the other side of the room, and jump over to what used to be the AU's holding tank. Turn back toward the south, and scan to find a mechanism in the wall that's blocking the slots for the Energy Cells. Shoot it with a charged shot, then insert the two Energy Cells.
- Once that's done, a Metroid Hatcher will attack. Snipe its brain, then head up the ramps and across the walkways you just activated to the lift in the northeast corner. From there, continue clockwise around the room, and jump over to the door in the southwest corner.
- Once through, take out the Metroids, and continue around to the other door. In the next room, go into the southeast corner and scan the small PDA sitting there next to an impaled trooper. Note the number, then enter it in the access panel next to the debris on the east wall. You'll hear the last data log from the Valhalla's AU.
- Once you've got that, head to the west end of the room, and use the Grapple Voltage to power up the node. Use the X-Ray Visor to activate the control panel, and you'll get the Pirate Code, which will come in handy later.
- Now, head back to the Port Observation Deck, and head to the west. Use the Seeker Missiles to open up the blast door, then head through the door behind it. Go to the northwest corner of the room, and blast out the damaged shutter with an Ice Missile, then head down.
- Take out the Phazon Hoppers as they jump up after you; your best bet is probably going into Hypermode. Once they're down, take out the Atomic floating around, and turn to the north most pillar. Use the Grapple Lasso to yank off the panels, and insert an Energy Cell in each. Use the Morph Ball tunnel beneath it to chase after the Ship Missile Expansion.
- When you catch up to it, bomb the debris blocking the tunnel and continue forward. Continue through the tunnel, avoiding some spots of arcing electricity, and you'll end up in Security Access. Head through the door to the west and into Medlab Alpha.
- Use missiles to clear the debris in the west end of the room, then take out the Phazon Hoppers that drop out of the vents and attack. Once they're dead, use the Grapple Lasso to pull off the panel blocking the Morph Ball tunnel, and head inside. Follow the tunnel to find a Missile Expansion. That will do it for the Valhalla, so now head back to the Pirate Homeworld.

Reach The Leviathan
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Leviathan (Time: 4:16)
- Land at Landing Site Bravo, then make your way to the Command Station. First, though, head over to Flux Control. Head to the bottom of the room, and head through the Morph Ball tunnel on the right. In the center chamber is a Magnetic Rail, so climb up it to find a Missile Expansion. This should be the last one. Once you've grabbed it, continue following the rail up until you reach a small chamber with a node you can Grapple Voltage.
- Pour energy into it, and you'll activate the lift, making a shortcut for yourself. Continue on to the Command Station. Once there, use the Hyper Grapple on the Phazon growth blocking the door, and head through. The next room is a Transit Station, so bring the train in just like with the others, and ride it.
- On the other side, head into the blue doorway to the south, not that there's much other choice. Climb around the stairs until you see a small broken hatch on the south wall. Use the Scanning Visor to spot it if you're having trouble. Bomb it open, and head inside. At the bottom is a node you'll have to drain with the Grapple Voltage; once that's done, climb back up the stairs, and step into the hologram to warp up to the Leviathan. Head up to the console and hit A to take over the Leviathan.
- Now, head back to the surface and go back to your ship. Make sure to save.
-
-
Destroy Phaaze
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Phaze (Time: 9:36)
- WARNING: This is the point of no return. Before you go any further, make sure there's nothing else you want to get done. There's no save points in the following section, and you can't leave once you get there, so you'll have to either beat the game or die trying.
- Once you're ready to go, use your ship to rendezvous with the GFS Olympus. Once you do, the GFS Fleet will open a wormhole to Phaaze, and the final assault on the planet will begin. While the GFS Fleet takes on the Pirates in orbit, you'll land on the planet's surface.
- As soon as you step away from your ship, you'll automatically go into Hypermode from all the ambient Phazon. You'll have to hit A to vent the Phazon in your energy tanks, after which you'll be stuck in Hypermode. Keep an eye on the yellow gauge at the top of the screen: If that fills, you're dead; it raises steadily because of Phaaze's atmosphere, and will also raise when you take damage. You can lower it by picking up small anti-Phazon power ups. Also, because of the corruption, Samus's gunship no longer recognizes her, so you won't be able to save or leave the planet.
- Head through the door to the northeast. Take out the Jelsacs lining the walls, then drop down. Take out the Phazon Hoppers and Hopping Metroids; in Hypermode they should go down quickly, just avoid their attacks and head down the ramp. In your way is another set of Phazon crystals that you'll have to pour Phazon into with the Hyper Grapple, which also helpfully lowers the yellow gauge.
- Drop down to the bottom, and head through the door. Use the Morph Ball to get past the tendrils without being caught, then go around the big block in the middle of the room. Take out the Phaz-Ing with either concentrated blasts, or pouring energy into them with the Hyper Grapple, then climb up the ledges in the southwest corner. Blast the Phazon Crystals on the wall with a Hyper Missile, and follow the corridor behind it, jumping the gaps you come to, and taking out any Phaz-Ing around, then head through the door.
- Go into the Morph Ball tunnel to the left and follow it around to the cylinder. You'll see a bunch of pink growths along the wall. Hold A to use the Hyperball and destroy them all to open the shaft below. Do the same on the rest of the growths as you head down until you reach the floor.
- At the bottom is a Phazon Puffer. If you get close to it, it will absorb Phazon from you, lowering the yellow gauge. Make sure to kill it once you're empty, otherwise it will fire the energy back at you. Head through the door.
- In the next chamber, take out the Jelsacs and the Metroids that attack you, the good news is you can still one-shot-snipe the Metroids using the X-Ray Visor. The Metroids seem to spawn indefinitely, so head around the chamber clockwise. Shoot the Phazon Crystals on the southwest side of the room, and use the Screw Attack to head over there, then head counterclockwise along the wall. Blast the next set of crystals in your way and continue on through the door.
- In this room, go into the Morph Ball hole in front of you. Use the Hyperball to destroy the growths around the room, then drop through the hole in the center of the floor. Watch out for Hopping Metroids as you take out the growths. On the next floor down, do the same and watch out for the Phazon Hoppers. The next floor down has a Phazon Puffer, so use it to drain your Phazon, then take it out before it attacks, and take out the growths, then drop down.
- At the bottom is a mouth like thing that will grab and damage you. Use the Hyperball to escape it, then head through the door. Take out the Metroids, then drop down, and head around the big block to the right. Around it is a door with several things popping out around it. Use the Hyperball and hold A in front of the door to damage them, and you'll eventually take out the door.
- Go down the hallway and you'll be attacked by a bunch of Phazon Hoppers. Take them out with Hyper Missiles to make it quick and the Phazon blocking the doorway will recede. Now take out the Phaz-Ing, and head through the door.
- Drop down the shaft, and you'll be grabbed by a big...thing. Shoot the inside of its mouth to shake free. Just lay into the thing. Eventually it will drop you, so just head through the door at the bottom.
- Take out the Metroids that attack you, then blast the red floor covering to open it up, then drop down. Go through the next door, and take out the Metroids in the main chamber. Use the Grapple Lasso to rip the plating off the womb in the center of the room, and fire away at the Leviathan Infant inside. You'll have to either follow it as it switches sides in the womb, or just wait for it to come back to your side. Either way, lay into it until it explodes, then drop down the tunnel it opens.
-
Boss Fight: Dark Samus
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Dark Samus Boss Battle (Time: 8:31)
- This is the first part of the battle. First thing Dark Samus will do is bring up a bunch of Phazon Pillars around the room, which is easy enough to avoid. In fact, the pillars will provide you with cover from her two attacks: She'll either fire a continuous shotgun-like spread of energy at you, or fire four bolts up in the air that will home in on you. For the first, just get behind a pillar. For the second, you can easily shoot them out of the air.
- She'll also stomp the ground, creating a small shockwave around her if you get too close. Occasionally, she'll jump in the air and slam down, creating a larger shockwave you'll have to jump over.
- Fire away at her during this part, and eventually she'll take to the air and start replenishing her energy. Hit her fast before she regains too much energy. As you do more damage, she'll split off several "echoes" of herself, which will mimic her attacks. They don't take much damage to get rid of, but she'll just keep spawning them. Use the X-Ray Visor to track which is the real one, and keep laying into her.
- If there's only two of her, one attack they like to use is a continuous yellow beam that they'll fire in opposite directions, moving counterclockwise. Go into Morph Ball mode to avoid it, and roll between them and use the Hyperball to damage them. If you destroy her other Echoes, she'll sometimes start a series of slow jumping attacks, where she'll pound the ground and send a bolt of energy at you. Jump to get away from it.
- While the Echoes are out, she'll occasionally jump in the air to fire a beam at you, just dodge to the side to avoid it. Another attack she's fond of is to have her and the echoes hover erratically around each other while they move at you. Just try and keep your distance when this happens, and fire away at the real one.
- Occasionally, she'll suck the two echoes into her; this effectively makes her invulnerable, so just avoid her attacks in this mode and wait it out. Keep firing at every opportunity, and make sure to pick up the anti-Phazon orbs that are released whenever you destroy an Echo or one of the pillars. Eventually she'll go down.
-
Boss Fight: Aurora Unit 313
- YouTube: Metroid Prime 3 Corruption Aurora Unit 313 Boss Battle (Time: 9:11)
- This is the Aurora Unit that was swiped from the GFS Valhalla, now merged with Phaaze and Dark Samus. The AU has a few attacks. It will fire a continuous laser at you which you can avoid by jumping over or dodging to the side. It will also summon a few echoes of Dark Samus, which you can either blast or ignore. As long as you're moving they probably won't hit you.
- To damage the AU, shoot the blue tentacles that it just out of the four ports on the front, then fire away at the opening while it's glowing yellow. Eventually, you'll stun the thing. Run over to where it's landed, and use the Grapple Lasso to open up its core, then fire away at it while it's open.
- Occasionally, the blue tentacles will fire a bolt of energy at you, which is easy enough to avoid. Later in the fight, the AU will summon a bunch of cannons surrounding it, which will fire homing energy bolts up into the air. These can be either shot down or avoided; shoot them down if you feel you need to bring your Phazon meter down.
- Keep up the attack, and eventually the AU will be separated from the spine that was tethering it, and start floating around. It's got a few new attacks: First, it will fire a bolt straight down, making a shockwave for you to jump over. You'll see this coming because a small growth will protrude from the bottom. You can shoot it, and there's a chance at stunning the AU.
- Another attack of its is to fire lasers from its tentacles, and spin around the top of the arena. Get under it to avoid this attack. It will also go down on the ground and pursue you with a spinning attack, much like Ghor. Just dodge to the side to avoid this. Occasionally, it will just fire bolts straight at you, which you can avoid easily enough, and after which the AU will stun itself herself.
- During all these attacks, the weak-point at the back of the AU is open, so fire away every chance you get. Occasionally you'll stun it, opening it up to more free shots. Keep avoiding its attacks, and fire away with everything you've got, and you'll take it down.
- Congratulations, you've beat the game. Enjoy the ending cutscene.
