Storyline
Taking place between Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion, Metroid: Other M starts with Samus Aran recovering from her final battle with Mother Brain and the Space Pirates on a Galactic Federation ship. However, a distress signal from a nearby habitat vessel gets Samus' attention, and upon investigating, finds old acquaintances in danger from a new threat.

Metroid: Other M Video Walkthrough (Part 2)
The Bottle Ship beginning exploration.
Chapter 1
Part 1
- Start by completing the various tutorials. Afterward, you get a cutscene, and will begin the action on the Bottle Ship itself.
- Use the Wiimote when prompted to examine the Galactic Federation logo on the vessel Samus is looking at. Afterward, follow the linear path until you encounter the GF troops.
- After the cutscene, you are forced into first-person view again. You can scan Adam to your left if you like, otherwise, scan the door ahead and then fire a missile at it with A.
- Your equipment will now be locked until Adam gives the word to use them. Enter the doorway ahead and follow the linear path until a Reo appears in a cutscene and knocks Samus off a ledge.
- Kill the Reos that attack you after Samus recovers and shoot the grate with the symbol on it. Hop along the ledges to the top, shooting all in your way.
- At the top is an exit door; take it and watch for Skrees in the ceiling as you make your way through the corridor. In the next room, shoot the Reos coming out of the bathroom and continue. Take note of a collapsed air duct in the room with the Geemers, it will come in handy later.
- Keep going along the linear path and make your way to a wrecked elevator shaft. Use the Kick Jump to make your way up to the top and follow the linear path to a large shaft with U-shaped platforms.
- Using the U-shaped platforms, hop your way to the top and take the leftward exit into the first save room. Save and continue along the path to another cutscene.
Metroid: Other M Brugg Mass Walkthrough Cont. (Part 3)
Brugg Mass boss battle. Walkthrough continued...
Brug Mass
- After the cutscene comes a brawl with this boss. Dodge the three tentacle attacks by strafing it and when it stops, go into first-person mode and try to lock onto the eye. Samus will dodge the attack in a cutscene sequence.
- Adam will unlock your Normal Missile ability. Repeat the same process as before; dodge the three tentacle smacks and go into first-person mode and lock onto the eye. This time you are allowed to shoot the eye with a Missile; do so.
- Another cutscene will play, and the real fight begins. Dodge the three tentacle swipes once more and shoot the eye as you did earlier. It will retaliate with a hard slap; dodge that and the GF troops will freeze the tentacle; shoot the frozen tentacle with a Missile to destroy it.
- Repeat the above process with the second tentacle. With the Brug Mass out of tentacles, it will try to headbutt Samus. Shoot the eye with a Missile after a missed headbutt and the GF troops will freeze it again. Blast it with a Missile while it's frozen.
- After blasting it with a Missile while it's frozen, a small creature called an "Emperor Brug" will flee from the Brug Mass. Simply shoot it to death with your regular gun in third-person mode to end it. If it makes it back to the Brug Mass, you'll need to repeat the above process again.
Metroid: Other M Video Walkthrough (Part 4)
Biosphere exploration
Part 2
- You will have unlocked Bombs after killing the boss. Back track to the room with the sloping air duct. Roll into it and use the Bombs to blast open a grate leading to an Energy Tank, and another grate behind it to roll into the Systems Management Room.
- Interact with the console in the Systems Management Room and you'll wind up under assault by two Reo Nests. Shoot the Reos until they stop spawning, then shoot the nests with Missiles until they are destroyed.
- Interact withe console again to restore power, then return to the control room. The bridge ahead will retract, dumping you in a pit with three Sidehoppers. Use the Overblast to kill them easily (jump on their heads while fully charged).
- With the power restored, you can use the red computer consoles. Return to the control room; to get out of the Sidehopper pit, shoot a Missile at the panel above the ladder and Kick Jump out. Use the console above to raise the bridge, then make your way back to the U-shaped platform area. The elevator is working now, so ride it to the top and use the console there to raise platforms on the side in case you don't want to ride the elevator.
- Return to the console room and Adam will open an exit to the right. Follow the linear path there through the two elevator tubes down to the Main Elevator room. Take the only elevator operatable, leading to Sector 1 (Biosphere).
Metroid: Other M Video Walkthrough (Part 5)
Biosphere exploration continued.
Chapter 2
Part 1
- Exit the Main Elevator into Sector 1. Head into the save room, then enter the next corridor. Shoot the enemies or ignore them and blast through the brown growth at the end to open the next door.
- In the next room, you'll be ambushed by two Ghalmanians: chameleon-like things that use tail whips and poison blobs to attack Samus. They can also turn invisible; if they do, use the first-person view to find them, then shoot them with a Missile and kill them with Overblast attacks after they appear.
- Keep going after the Ghalmanians and you'll eventually enter a massive shaft with a plant-covered spiral ramp leading upward. Follow it up to the top and follow the catwalk up there to a save room.
- Go past the save room into the tunnel ahead; watch out for the Wavers, as these guys like to pretend they are harmless pods, sneak-attacking you as you move by.
- Head into the next room and shoot the plants in your way. At the back end is a slope leading down; slide downward and jump over the spiked purple roots in your way or Samus will take heavy damage.
- At the bottom, Samus will brawl with a pair of Griptians: armadillo-like creatures that roll around. You can knock them out of a roll with Bombs, otherwise, use Overblasts to knock one down when it uncurls, then kill it with a Lethal Strike while it is lying down (stand next to it, aim the d-pad at it, then shoot it).
- Climb up the cliffs to the right after killing the Griptians and enter the next room. The door ahead is locked and you need a Super Missile to wreck it; instead, jump towards the open air duct a bit near the door and Samus will grab the edge. Press Up to pull Samus into the duct in ball form. Roll through the duct, grabbing a Missile Tank in the process as you roll into a new room.
- Go down the stairs into the corridor at the bottom. Enter through the green door at the back to visit the Breeding Room. Explore it for a corpse and a cutscene.
Metroid: Other M Video Walkthrough (Part 6)
Exploration and elevator shaft boss.
Part 2
- Go back to the room with the stairs and take the north door. Inside is a storage tank holding a Geemer; blast it with a Missile and jump into the resulting hole as Ball Samus.
- You'll be back outside the Super Missile door. Return to the area where you fought the Griptians and you'll get a cutscene, then Adam will unlock the north door.
- Enter the north door and shoot down the Reo Nests. The second one will have a small tunnel in a tree trunk that Samus can climb into in ball form. Roll to the end and interact with the terminal on the other side to shut down the Holographic Generator and open the exit out.
- Head onward into a sky-filled canyon with a waterfall. Go into the waterfall and destroy the Reo Nest inside.
- Destroying the nest reveals a hole; roll into it and make your way out to the other side. Explore the cliffs ahead for another Holographic Generator and shut it down; this triggers a fight against Sidehoppers and a Dragotix. The Sidehoppers can be handled as usual, but the Dragotix is pretty dangerous, shooting plasma jets and charging after Samus trying to bite her; if it grabs her, bomb your way out as Ball Samus before it takes you down. Try to shoot the heck out of it from a distance with Missiles.
- After killing the enemies, Kick Jump up the nearby shaft and enter the door ahead. Follow the linear path to the next save room (shoot the symbol above the exit door to fumigate the corridor and open the exit). Inside the save room, blast open the malfunctioning door with a Missile and jump into the hole.
- Follow the path till you enter a room full of Geemers that leads into an elevator shaft. Jump from ledge to ledge to the top, shooting the Geemers in your way. At the top, shoot the sparkling electric panel with a Missile.
- The elevator will start to collapse and a Ghalmanian will stalk you from below. Just drop straight down and stand in one of the nooks in the elevator shaft (the exit is locked). The elevator should then fall down, crushing the Ghalmanian and allowing you to continue up to the exit.
- Continue on into a lobby and shoot a Missile at the air duct nearby. Roll inside and bomb your way through the trash heaps, following the tubes into the Scrap Block.
Metroid: Other M Video Walkthrough and King Kihunter Boss (Part 7)
Biosphere and King Kihunter boss fight.
Part 3
- Note that you can blast the trash piles in the Scrap Block with your Missiles; do so to blast away the trash blocking the exit stairs, then head on up.
- Use Missiles to blast away the brown growth in the next room, then watch out for the pits in the ground holding Gripper plants and a sneak attack from a worm-like creature called a "Namihe" you must dodge using a Sense Move.
- Continue onward and blast through first some growth at the dead-end, then the trash pile past it to reveal a tube. Roll in and follow the tube till it ends in the Subterranean Control Room.
- Inside, kill the Ghalmanians and enter the save room. Enter the next room and Samus will be locked in with three FG-1000 robots. These guys are invulnerable until they are charging up their power shots; dodge their ram attacks and when they start charging, shoot them up until they explode. They will drop the Diffusion Beam when killed.
- Destroy the Reo Nests that appear afterward and use the console to open the locked door way back in the save room before you detoured into the Scrap Block. Head back into the tube you originally came from.
- In the room where you fought the two Ghalmanians, you'll come under assault from two Namihes. To defeat them, wait for one to pop out of the wall and quickly shoot it with a Missile. It will fall to the ground and attempt to either swallow Samus or blast her with spark balls. Knock it down with a Charge Beam attack and then kill it with a Lethal Strike (charge up, stand near the mouth, run towards it and press 1; Samus should kill it with a fatality). Concentrate on one worm at a time.
- After they are dead, head into the tube and rest Ball Samus in the glowing hole. Drop a Bomb and Samus will get warped back to the waterfall canyon.
- Make your way back to the upper cliff of the waterfall canyon and Kick Jump your way up into the facility again. Proceed to the save room where you detoured into the Scrap Block area. Now that the north door is unlocked, head on through.
- Inside, you will find an area with spider webs and a Holographic Generator on a catwalk above. Kill all the enemies and look for wreckage on the wall you can shoot with a Missile. After doing so, explore the walls below it for a tube Ball Samus can roll into that leads up to the catwalk.
- Turn on the Holographic Generator and run to the illusion it creates. You'll notice a glitch in the holgram that reveals a cracked wall Samus can bomb through; do so and roll through the tube into another plant-filled corridor.
- Blast your way into the Biological Experiment Floor. Follow the spiral ramp up, shooting the Gripper plants and shooting Missiles at the purple plant pods when they open up and fire or whip at Samus. At the top of the spiral is a hole you can enter to drop into a boss room.
- Once inside the boss room, scan the brown creatures scuttling around on the floor to start the battle.
King Kihunter
- Start by charging up the Charge Beam and blasting all the Kihunter and Kihunter grubs coming your way. The Diffusion Beam will down a whole swarm in one hit. Be careful if they grab you as they will self-destruct for big damage.
- When you kill enough, five plant pods will appear in the ceiling and fire shots at Samus. Shoot them while they are open with Missiles; after a while, they close again and you'll have to kill a bunch of Kihunters to get them to re-open. You want to destroy all five to reveal the real boss. Be careful on the last pod as it will remain open permanently, but summon endless Kihunters and be a real problem to hit; you may want to time it so that you destroy the final two pods simultaneously.
- After destroying all the pods, the hive they guard cracks open and reveals King Kihunter himself. Just Charge Beam-blast the swarms of Kihunters in your way and shoot the hell out of it with Missiles until it's dead.

Metroid: Other M Video Walkthrough (Part 9)
Walkthrough continued.
Part 4
- Enter the next room and make your way to the next save room. From there, go north, then east, climbing over the glass cages into a flooded area. If you are wondering how to kill the crawling brown things ("Zeros"), destroy them with Bombs.
- Inside the flooded area, dive into the water and watch out for Skulera fishes as you make your way to the back. Shoot the symbol at the end of the corridor with a charge shot to activate a lift above.
- Go back and cling onto the lift; it will slide to the right. Get into first-person mode as it slides and shoot all the plant pods with Missiles as they open up, before they knock you into the drink.
- Once you reach the other side, enter the next room for another puzzle. Start by hopping onto the islands ahead and charge-shooting the symbol on the wall. The water level in the area will rise upward.
- Hop to the end of the islands and jump forward into the water. You should land on a raised land mass just underneath the surface. Run forward and drop down the land mass to the other side.
- Look underneath the next set of islands for another symbol to charge-shoot; do so and the water level will lower again. Climb up the steps and jump onto the next set of islands.
- Follow the set of islands to their end and look up and charge-shoot the symbol on the wall above you. Now the water level will raise and lower repeatedly. Here's the tricky part; as the water level rises, you want to jump towards the mossy wall behind the concrete wall holding the symbol you just shot. If you did this correctly, you should Kick Jump off the mossy wall and catch the rear-end of the concrete wall holding the symbol, allowing you to Kick Jump all the way to the exit.
- The next room is a giant swamp simulation; you'll need to find another Hologram Generator to shut off the illusion. Explore the westernmost "trees" and look for one that has scaffolding you can climb to a duct above.
- Follow the ducts to the Hologram Generator. Turn it off and a Groganch, a massive tree-like creature will attack you. To defeat it, simply fire Missiles at the orange core in its gut while taking cover from behind trees. It sometimes likes to flip over, putting the core above its mass; simply climb a platform and continue shooting Missiles.
- Once it's dead, you can Kick Jump up the nearby wrecked elevator shaft to reach a save room. From the save room, follow the tunnel to another elevator shaft with grips you can use to climb.
- Climb to the top of the shaft and charge-shoot the symbol up top. Drop back down and roll into the ball-launching pad to get launched through the elevator into the next area. Head into the next room, killing all in your way including three Griptians.
- Continue on and you will enter another forested area, with another Groganch. Kill this one as before, then head north and look for a raised hill you can climb. Nearby is a lift; hop onto it.
- Ride the lift and shoot the Reos attacking you. Once the lift stops, jump onto the nearby ledge and follow the tubes to a console you use to open the exit door to another save room. Continue onward to the final area.
Metroid: Other M Video Walkthrough Exam Center (Part 10)
Exam Center exploration and fights.
Part 5
- Lots of wandering, cutscenes, and boss fights here. First, enter the Exam Center in the Biological Training Ground. Follow the linear paths through the building, taking the various elevators up to the save room floor.
- Past the save room is a deactivated door; you must blast open the wall next to it and roll inside the resulting hole; search for a console back there and use it to open the deactivated door. Follow the new path for a cutscene.
- Samus goes into investigation mode afterward. Follow the linear path through the Exam Center, going through the only doors open, until you enter a room with six doors in a chamber. Open them all until you get a cutscene, then scan the GF insignia on its breastplate.
- After the next cutscene, once again, go through another linear path of doorways until you enter a similar chamber to the one before. Explore the room and a white glob will fall on the floor; scan upwards and Samus will be under attack from Cyborg Zebesians. You can kill them pretty easily with the Overblast attack.
- Return to the control room after the cutscene and another one will occur. After a series of events, you will regain control of Samus while she is pinned underneath the "Little Birdie". To survive, aim your Wiimote at the tail and shoot it. The Little Birdie will flick the tail repeatedly to try to distract you, but don't take the bait, just wait for it to stop flicking, then shoot the tail.
- After enough hits, you win, then you and the GF squad will be forced to examine another corpse. Ignore them, turn around, and scan the green puddle on the grass by the wrecked truck. You get a cutscene, then a new exit will open, allowing you access to the next sector.
Metroid: Other M Video Exam Center & Pyrosphere (Part 11)
Exam Center and Sector 3
Chapter 3
Part 1
- You start in Sector 3 / Pyrosphere. Battle your way through the first few tunnels to the first save room. Watch out for an attack from the creature known as the Vorash, a giant red-colored fish-like creature that will suddenly bite through the walls and tubes in an attempt to eat Samus; if you don't use a Sense Move to dodge this thing's bite, it's instant death.
- From the save room, go down the ramp to the west door. Enter and get ready to run through a gantlet of islands in a sea of lava. You need to move quickly as Samus' health will be constantly depleting. The Vorash will also attack you as you progress, so make sure to use Sense Moves to dodge its bites.
- Once you make it through the gantlet, you'll be in a room with three pads. Cyber Zebesians will appear and attack you, and a Mella Nest on the wall will crank out Mellas as well. Kill the enemies over and over until Adam finally unlocks the Ice Beam, then kill the Cyber Zebesians and then shoot the Mella Nest with the Ice Beam (it's only weakness) until it's destroyed.
- Head to the next few corridors; watch out for the flame jets from the walls and the enemies, especially the Dessgeegas. These guys hit hard with their stomps and charges; hit them with a Charge Shot, then shoot them with the Ice Beam repeatedly as they recover from the hit.
- The linear path leads to a shaft leading down. Make your way down carefully until you spot a symbol you can shoot with the Charge Beam. Do so to open a chute you can climb into that leads to a save room.
- Past the save room is yet another lava island gantlet. The Vorash is not present but a squad of Magdollites are. These creatures can throw fireballs, swipe at you, and perform any number of attacks to block your progress. Shoot them with the Charge Beam to stun them and get them out of the way.
- Get through the second lava island gantlet and run through the corridors into a control room. Inside is an Asborean. To kill it, wait for it to shoot, then stun it with a Charge Beam while it is shooting. Destroy the armor with a Lethal Strike while it's stunned and shoot the surviving worm creature to finish it off. Watch out for the kamikaze spawn it likes to throw at you; Sense Move out of their way to avoid getting blown up.
- Keep going along the linear path. The path leads outside to a volcano bombing you with fireballs and Novas. Ignore it and keep running into the door ahead. Inside the next room, kill the Cyber Zebesisans and use the console to drain the lava in the well below.
- Use the nearby tube to roll down into the well. At the bottom, run to the right and hurry up the spiral ramps to the top, avoiding the flood of lava from below and, the swipes from unknown giant fists using Sense Moves. Atop is a boss, and you will unlock Varia as well (allowing Samus to withstand the ambient heat and take more damage in general).
Metroid: Other M Video Pyrosphere & Goyagma Boss (Part 12)
Pyrosphere exploration and Goyagma boss fight
Goyagma
- This guy is loads easier if you utilize the Overblast attacks when possible. Start by simply shooting Charge Beams at the red growth on his throat in the third-person. Jump over any handswipes he does. If you hit the growth enough times, it will freeze and you can blow it up with a Missile.
- Repeat this a few times and he will try a new tactic: slapping the ground to create explosions. Just spam the Sense Move power repeatedly until he tires and leaves his hand laying there; charge-shoot the hand to freeze it, then jump on the hand and perform an Overblast. This will do massive damage to the boss. Three of these will kill it.
Metroid: Other M Video Walkthrough (Part 13)
Pyrosphere exploration continued.
Part 2
- After killing Goyagma, the lava in the sprial cave will recede; go back down the spiral and follow it all the way down to a door below (watch out for Dessgeegas).
- Enter the door and battle your way forward to the Main Elevator. Adam won't let you use it for now, so ignore it and keep going east.
- Ahead is a corridor that leads into an open room with Cyber Zebesians. Kill them or ignore them and head into another corridor filled with Novas and Dessgeegas; fight your way past into a save room.
- Head into the next room and you'll find it a dead-end with a lava pit you can't cross without access to your Grapple Beam. Instead, go back to the Main Elevator; Adam will now let you board it. An Asborean will attack you on the way out in the room where the Zebesians were.
- Ride the Main Elevator to the top, then enter the elevator leading to Sector 2. You'll now be in Sector 2 / Cryosphere.
Metroid: Other M Video Walkthrough (Part 14)
Sector 2 exploration.
Part 3
- Once you first enter the Cryosphere, go east and follow the linear path to a water tank room. The enemies in your way are mostly more of the same, save for the "Volfons": wolf-like creatures that have lots of different rushing and diving attacks. They are weak to Charge Shots but are otherwise too agile to be killed with Overblasts and Lethal Strikes, however, one Missile to their heads while they are frozen in place is an instant kill.
- Inside the water tank room, there's a "Fumbleye" in the center of the room, a giant barnacle-like monster that has a forcefield that protects it from your attacks. Do your best to dodge his attacks and instead dive into the water and look for a symbol on the wall you can charge-shoot.
- Shooting the symbol raises some platforms. Use the grips in the center of the tank to scale your way out and use the platforms to reach the north exit.
- Continue on the linear path. Eventually you will reach a cavern with a bridge. The bridge collapses and you'll fight a "Gigafraug" in the pit below. He's simple, just Sense Move out of the way of his charges and shoot/Missile blast his backside as he recovers. You cannot use Overblasts and Lethal Strikes on him until you do enough damage to blast open his protective front-end armor.
- After killing the Gigafraug, search the pit for a stalagmite you can blow up with a Missile, revealing an exit door into a save room. Continue onward and you'll be in a corridor with a Himella Nest; destroy it.
- After destroying the nest, look to the left for an air duct you can climb into. Roll through the tube, avoiding any frost jets while they are active, till you roll into the next area.
- In the next areas, you'll be attacked first by a Cyber Zebesian armed with Wave Beams. Take him out as you would any other. Next from him is a pack of Volfons and a Gigafraug. After downing them all, look for a massive glacier sheet ahead.
- To destroy the glacier, shoot a Missile at it, then climb into the "dent" made by the Missile and drop a Bomb. This will blow it all down; continue onward.
- In the next room, a garage of some type, shoot the enemies, and, as Ball Samus, squeeze into the gap in the wall at the back. Kick Jump to the top of the nook behind it, then drop down, kill the Dessgeegas, and exit.
- Ahead is going to be a nasty battle with two Cyber Zebesians; they put up a better fight than the previous one. First, shoot the stalactites in the ceiling with Missiles so that you can create stepping stones to the middle island. The first Zebesian will help you shoot down two, but you need to shoot down one yourself to make it. Dodge the Zebesian's attacks and get over to him.
- Take out the Zebesian when you reach him as before, while avoiding sniping fire from the second Zebesian. This one like to "overcharge" himself; if he does, wait for his stomp attack and dodge it, then shoot him with a Missile to knock him out of it. Kill him quickly before he can overcharge again.
- Get to the second Zebesian in the same way; shoot down stalactites with Missiles so you can hopscotch over to him, then kill him. Take the exit door when finished to a save room.
- Continue on from the save room and you will eventually get an important cutscene involving a Gigafraug corpse.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 15)
Part 4
- Keep moving from the cutscene into the next corridor to take on a tough crowd consisting of Himellas firing icicles and a Gigafraug. Kill the Gigafraug as best you can, and then deal with the Himella Nest by shooting a charge-shot at the leftward fan in the back of the room, freezing it in place so you can blast the nest behind it.
- With the enemies dead, observe the lefthand wall and blow up all the chunks of ice on the lift rail there. Ride the lift all the way to the control center above the pair of fans and jump to the console you will use to open the exit.
- In the next room, drop down the shaft and make your way up the cliffs to a massive ice column. Destroy it with Missiles and Bombs, as you did with the glacier sheet.
- Keep climbing to the top of the cliffs and enter the door into the Water Tank room. Drop down into the tank and shoot a Missile at the valve lock, then drop a Bomb into the resulting hole. Samus will get swept into the now-flooded previous room, and the Water Tank will be drained.
- Go back into the Water Tank room and you'll find two Cyber Zebesians here. If you need to escape and heal, climb up using the leftward platforms. Take them out otherwise and climb out of the tank using the rightside platforms.
- Keep following the path until Samus hits a dead-end in a long corridor. Go back the way you came and Adam will unlock both the Speed Booster and Shinespark before you leave the room. Use it to charge through the obstructions ahead, arriving back into the room north of the first save room.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 16)
Part 5
- Go back through the small water tank room with the Fumbleye and Speed Boost your way into the cavern where the bridge collapsed and dropped you into the pit with the Gigafraug. Use Shinespark to jump over the pit (Speed Boost to the edge of the pit, then press 2 to jump over the entire gap).
- Continue on into the Sector Generator Room. Use the stairs to jump onto the gold-ringed turbines; Samus can cling onto them. Kick Jump between the turbines and the wall to the left of the turbine column to the middle of the column.
- Ride the column as it rotates till you can shoot a button on a wall; it will unfold a platform you can jump to using the topmost turbine; watch out for the Fumbleye guarding it.
- Jump from that platform onto the next turbine column. Climb to the top and use it to jump to the ledge leading to the exit.
- Follow the linear path to a room with giant cryogenic tubes. Use Shinespark to clear the gap, then kill the Zebesians on the other side and keep moving forward to a save room, then continue on to the Experiment Floor.
- In the Experiment Floor, kill the Groganch wandering around using the usual techniques. An avalanche will occur, allowing you to the chance to climb up to find a dead body.
- After the cutscene, you'll be in a force first-person view again. Look for a human figure standing in a window on the building ahead and scan it. You'll be able to move again; enter the building ahead.
- Follow the linear path and scripted events until a boss battle breaks out.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 17)
Ferrocrusher
- You really need to use the Sense Moves here as this giant mech is otherwise too fast and large for most players to dodge. You also need to be a bit more skilled with the Sense Moves than usual; dodging the wrong way can get you hit anyway.
- The Ferrocrusher primarily fires laser beams towards Samus; you need to use Sense Moves to dodge them from a perpendicular angle. It also likes to ram you or swipe you with its claws; keep dodging over and over with the Sense Move until you escape whatever claw/ram attack it's trying to do.
- As you dodge the attacks, shoot at the arms with Charge Shots until they freeze, then shoot the frozen arm with a Missile to blow the arm off.
- Once it's lost both arms, it will almost exclusively try to ram Samus with front-end buzzsaws. Just keep dodging and shooting the rear-end tires with Charge Shots. They will freeze, after which, cooling rods will pop out of the unit on the top of the machine. Blast the cooling rods with Missiles; hit them enough times and it will be destroyed. You can also risk climbing onto the vehicle itself and taking out the cooling rods with an Overblast.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 18)
Part 6
- After beating the Ferrocrusher, make your way through the linear path to the elevator and ride it to the bottom of the Cryosphere and enter the save room. Go into the next room ahead.
- In the next room, go forward until you are hit with a trap that seals you in a glass box, under fire from Wave Beam Zebesians. Shoot at them until Adam unlocks the Wave Beam, then kill them with it; you'll note that the Wave Beam can shoot through glass panels, like their own beams can.
- Once the Zebesians are dead, go left at the t-junction and kill the Volfons in the icy valley. Afterward, getting a running start and run towards the collapse piping on the hill ahead and time a vertical Shinespark jump (hold 2 when you hit superspeed, then release 2 and the D-Pad to soar upward) right when Samus is about to hit it. She should fly up into the air and land on a tower above.
- Roll into the hole in the tower and use the ball launcher in it to launch to an area with mesh fencing. Watch out for the Geemers and electrified panels and roll your way to an exit tube that drops you off at a second tower.
- Use the ball launcher in the second tower to launch you into another fencing maze. Make your way through the maze to another exit tube to land in a room with an Energy Tank and a symbol behind a glass pane. Shoot it with a Charged Wave Beam shot.
- Exit the room and you'll land on the slope underneath the two towers. An avalanche will occur; quickly slide down the hill, avoiding objects so that Samus is not slowed down and killed, and when you hit the bottom, use Speed Booster and Sense Moves to avoid the coming avalanche.
- Back in the t-junction, take the west exit and make your way up the iron platforms. You need to shoot the frozen platforms with Missiles and shoot the collapsing plaforms with Charged Ice Beams. Up top, kill the Zebesians and enter the save room.
- Continue forward onto the Materials Transportation Lift; this lift should be active if you solved the puzzles back in the aforementioned "avalanche room"; if you didn't, review the above steps.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 19)
Part 7
- Get on the lift and use the console to ride it upward. You'll be ambushed first by eight Wave Beam Zebesians, then the "Rhedogian", a one-eyed flying freak that swings about with his arms and shoots eye beams. Sense Moves will keep you safe, and if it goes for its "vortex suction" move, counter with a Missile, which will stun it and let you use an Overblast on it.
- After the lift ride, enter the rooms ahead. The path dead-ends into a room with four cryo-tubes. Roll into the busted pipe next to them and bomb the glowing pads in the duct inside; this drains the liquid. Now stand on the rightward end of the row of cryo-tubes and look for a symbol on the otherside of the leftmost cryo-tube; shoot a Charged Wave Beam blast through the row of tubes and hit the symbol, opening a duct you can crawl into.
- Make your way through the duct and you'll end up back at the Main Elevator. Ride it to the hub area and take the Main Elevator back to Sector 3.
- When you first enter Sector 3 from the Main Elevator, you'll see the camera point out a locked orange door. You need to go west from the elevator and back track all the way to the control room near the volcano bridge, where you fought an Asborean.
- The volcano bridge, you'll notice, has been mostly wrecked. You'll need to use the Speed Booster and Shinespark to cross the gaps safely. Back at the control room, kill another Asborean inside; kill him.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 20)
Chapter 4
Part 1
- After killing the Asborean, use the now-active terminal to open the orange door (as viewed on the monitor in front of it).
- Go back to the Main Elevator room and take the now-open east door. Follow the linear path until you hit a cutscene.
- Anthony Higgs will be under attack from the Rhedogian, and eventually captured by it and held over the lava pit. When this happens, look up and scan the grapple point above you; Adam will authorize use of the Grapple Beam. Use your Grapple Beam to swing over to Anthony to save him.
- Defeat the Rhedogian as before and it will run away. After the cutscene, continue onward into the save room, then save and move onward.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 21)
Part 2
- In the next room, blast the Magmollites and use the grapple points to cross to the other side. Enter the next room and use the grapple point there to swing into the duct in the wall.
- Follow the duct into the Blast Furnace Observation and use the ball launcher there to get launched into another duct. Follow it and use Bombs to knock loose the grapple points embedded into the duct over the lava pit below; the Vorash, the crazed lava-worm thing that tried to eat you earlier, will swallow one of them.
- The duct ends back into the Blast Furnace Observation; use the console you land next to to open the hatch to the lava pool holding the Vorash. Use the grapple points to swing over to a boss fight.
Vorash
- Just use Sense Moves to dodge his fireballs and keep firing Charge Beam shots into his soft, glowing underbelly.
- The Vorash will eventually roar at you, exposing the grapple point he swallowed inside his gullet. Hit it with the Grapple Beam and Samus will tug on his gullet and yank him ashore, allowing you to throttle his underbelly with Missile Blasts.
- After enough damage, the Vorash will swallow the grapple point and you'll have to stick to pounding on him the old-fashioned way; shoot him up. He also uses a charging bite attack that allows you to dodge and shoot his underbelly as he charges past you.
Part 3
- After the Vorash is toast, use the grapple points to swing to the north access tunnel and follow the linear path to a save room, and then the next area.
- The next area is desert-themed, and introduces a new enemy: the Sandfang. These giant worms can be beaten with Charge Shots; just watch for their heads in the sand and make sure they don't snag Samus. Kill the first one in the corridor ahead and head into the Environmental Testing Area.
- Once there, kill all the enemies you see, then blast the rear-end of the crane holding the grapple point using Missiles to get it to rotate. Rotate the crane so that the grapple point is closest to the west-end platform holding the Holographic Generator.
- Use the Grapple Beam to get onto the platform, then shut down the hologram, revealing the entrance to the Desert Refinery. Use a Shinespark jump to leap up to the exit.
- Inside the Desert Refinery, battle your way up the stairs to the first turbine column you see. Scale it and use it to jump to the ledge to your right, which leads to another turbine column.
- Scale the second turbine column and use it to jump to the ledge high above holding a terminal; use the terminal to open the exit, then use the first turbine column to climb your way up to the exit.
- You will be outside one of the refinery silos. Kill all the robots shooting at you, then use a vertical Shinespark jump to leap up to a ledge holding an air duct. Roll inside and follow the duct till it ends outside another silo. Battle your way up the second silo to an exit leading to a save room.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 22)
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 23)
Part 4
- In the next room, you'll battle the Rhedogian again. Take him out as before. This time he will retreat to the upper ledges when low on health and shell you with homing missiles from his red eye. Shoot his red eye with your own Missile to take him out when he does this.
- Taking down the Rhedogian again will access the elevator in the center of the room. Ride it down to a corridor where you use three grapple points to cross a gap to an exit on the other side. If you fall into the gap, you must battle through some Magmollites to an escape hatch and try to cross the gap again.
- The exit door takes you back into one of the corridors you first went through when first visiting Sector 3, specificially the sand-filled ones holding flame jets and Dessgeegas. Take the only other door open in the corridor into the giant lava cavern where you first met the Magmollites.
- Make your way through the cavern and look for a grapple point half-way through you can use to follow a trail of grapple points to a small cave filled with Magmollites. Battle your way through the cave to the other side, where a save room sits.
- Past the save room, you'll be forced into first person mode in the next room. Scan the molting above the exit door to regain control, then continue through the exit door.
- The next corridor ahead has three pairs of strange devices that generate purple beams that block your path. To shut them down temporarily, go into first-person mode and aim a Wave Beam Charge Shot in the general direction of one of them (do not lock on directly and shoot Missiles). The beam should hit the device, shutting both of them down, allowing you to slip past them into the Geothermal Power Plant.
- Inside the Geothermal Power Plant, make your way up the stairs to a large circular room. A few cutscenes and a force first-person view will start; you want to scan the door you came in from to end it.
- Afterward, jets of flame will swath the arena from above; go into first-person view again and search for a panel on the wall to shoot; Adam will then unlock Super Missiles for you to destroy it. You will also unlock the Plasma Beam right before a boss fight breaks out.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 24)
Ridley
- Samus' old arch nemesis likes to rush you up close and personal with his claw swipes and tail slams. He also breathes flame and rushes you sometimes. All of this can be dodged with Sense Moves, however, they hit really hard, so be careful, and respond to each dodge with a Charge Shot blast so you can whittle down his life. Sometimes you can stun Ridley, which if you do, you should take advantage by hitting him with Lethal Strikes.
- Ridley also likes to take to the air and either stab at Samus with his tail or bomb the arena with a fireball. If it's the former, run and jump away from him, and if it's the latter, get ready to jump over the resulting shockwave the fireball makes when it impacts or you will take loads of damage.
- Ridley will also at times use a "super armor" move that will make him invulnerable to all attacks except the Super Missile. You can use a Super Missile to break his armor and be able to hurt him normally. The best time to do so is either immediately after he takes flight or after he lands.
- Ridley near the end of his health will like to spam a grab that will cause him to grind Samus against the wall; you'll need to use a Charge Shot to blast out of his grip after the animation. You'll definately want to avoid the grab altogether though.
Part 4
- After the fight is over, use the grapple points to swing out of the arena back into the main chamber of this building. There's a "Super Missile vault door" in the room, one of many you've seen throughout the game; you can finally blow these down with a Super Missile, so do so.
- The vault door leads into a shaft with a lava pit at the bottom. Cling onto one of the grips in the shaft and charge-shoot the symbol to open the exit.
- You'll be back in the main areas of Sector 3. Make your way back to the Main Elevator and ride it back to the hub area, then take the Main Elevator to Sector 1.
- Follow the Deleter through Sector 1 to the room with the spiral ramp covered in plants. Watch out for the Alpha Griptians; these uber-versions of the regular Griptians cannot be Overblasted.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 25)
Part 5
- The Deleter will head out the north exit of the spiral ramp room, so follow him into a new area. You can use the grapple points to cross over the hill and get to the save room.
- Go into the bridge room past the save room. The bridge will be down permanently at this point, however, Samus herself will unlock Space Jump and Screw Attack. The Space Jump will let Samus be able to spam infinite jumps in mid-air, essentially letting her cross the gap by flying over it.
- Enter the door on the other side and follow the linear path for a long series of cutscenes.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 26)
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 27)
Chapter 5
Part 1
- After the cutscenes, go all the way back to the Main Elevator and ride it to Sector 2. On the way back, you'll run into the Rhedogian for the final time; just smoke him with Super Missiles and take the Seeker Missile power-up he drops, as you will need it to continue the main story.
- Now you'll need to return to Sector 2 again. Go to the Main Elevator and go through the motions to return to Sector 2. You'll need to make your way back to the room with the Gigafraug corpse Samus believes was eaten by a Metroid. If you need quick directions, take the first corridor to the bridge above you, where you first busted through after using the Speed Booster for the first time. Get on the bridge and follow it south along the linear path until you find the corpse again.
- To the left of the corpse is a ledge you can climb that leads to a muli-lock vault door. You need to use Seeker Missiles to destroy it; aim towards all 5 locks and fire a Missile to strike them all at once and take out the locks.
- Inside is a linear path through an area that has some odd gravity effects. The first area reverses gravity; just climb up the platforms as best you can upside down into the next area.
- The next area has high pressure gravity that makes jumping almost impossible. You need to find grapple points above (these seem to ignore the gravity) and use them fling Samus onto walls so that she can kick jump upwards to the second floor, then make her way left, then up and to the right to the exit.
- Normal gravity will be restored by the time you reach the save room; afterward head into the large antechamber ahead and climb to the top to start a boss fight.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 28)
Nightmare
- Quick notes on his moves: this guy shoots a ton of purple energy balls that can easily be dodged with Sense Moves and are key to letting you counter-spam him with instant Charge Shots. He also uses a spinning laser attack you will want to jump over using Space Jump as otherwise you can't Sense Move around them. Finally, if you fall to the bottom floor, he will likely spam a "bum rush" attack on you down there that will be pretty tough to dodge and hits hard, so stay on either of the upper floors whenever possible.
- His tail emits a gravity-crushing force like the rooms before that will not really impede your Sense Moves but will prevent your Missiles from striking his faceplate, his true weakness. The first order of business is to simply dodge the purple balls with Sense Moves and counter with Charge Shots. The auto-aim should send the shots into the tail, eventually freezing it and turning off the gravity force.
- With the gravity force off, you can fire Super Missiles directly into his faceplate for massive damage. The best time to do this is after he fires off some purple balls, but if you are slick, you can outright cancel the spinning laser attack with a Super Missile to the face right as he starts it up.
- After enough damage to the face, the tail unfreezes and the gravity effects start up again; repeat the above process to eventually bring him down. He will sometimes climb onto the upper floors along with you and try the bum rush move he normally uses on the ground floor; you should try avoiding this by diving down to the bottom floor, then quickly climbing back up.
- After taking out Nightmare, go into the door up top and follow the linear path past the save room to the vast hall ahead.
- Walk to the end of the vast hall and when put into the force first-person view, scan to the left to spot a familiar enemy. After this, a series of cutscenes will take place.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 29)
Part 2
- Once the cutscenes are over, run back to where you fought Nightmare; on the way back, you'll unlock the Gravity Suit once Samus is nearly pulled into outer space. The Gravity Suit lets you ignore the effects of gravity forces and liquid physics; use it to outrun the blast doors trying to seal you into the corridor (ignore the Zebesians trying to stop you).
- After getting back into the room where you fought Nightmare, you'll promptly have a rematch as soon as you try to leave.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 30)
Nightmare Unmasked
- He's still the same mostly; he fires this time big fat deep purple orbs that aren't as fast but do more damage and are better at tracking Samus. Sense Moves still will allow you to dodge them easily nonetheless and counter with Sense Moves. He's also upgraded the spinning laser into a giant beam fired from his face. Otherwise, he's still the same; freeze his tail to keep it from affecting your Missiles, then pummel his face with Super Missiles.
- He has one more trick up his sleeve though, and plays it when he's near dead. He throws out a black hole that will suck up all of Samus' shots, including the regular beams. The key is to position Nightmare relative to Samus so that the black holes is directly behind him. This way Nightmare winds up in the line of fire anyway when your shots are tracked into the black hole.
- One more note about Nightmare's black holes: they can be blown up, either by his spinning laser move or I believe also by a Super Missile directly shot into it (the latter doesn't seem very reliable though). If his black holes blow up, they unleash a massive super nova that will devastate Samus if she's in range, so look out.
- You now must head back to the Bioweapons Research Center in Sector 1 (where Madeline Bergman filled you in on the plot details). Go all the way back there.
Metroid: Other M Walkthrough (Part 31)
Part 3
- You now must head back to the Bioweapons Research Center in Sector 1 (where Madeline Bergman filled you in on the plot details). Go all the way back there; a new door will be unlocked in the room, under the stairs by the dead Federation soldier.
- Follow the linear path inside. In the halls ahead, you come across booby traps on the walls that shoot "Rinkas", little flying ringed fireballs. Ignore them unless they get in your way and shoot the symbol on the first door to open it, then use Seeker Missiles to blow open the next two doors.
- The path ends into the "Room MW". Search through the prison cell windows; one of them has a female human sitting inside (the northeast one I believe). Scan her and a boss battle will begin.
Queen Metroid
- First order of business is to destroy the Metroids the Queen makes; you can't harm her otherwise. Just dodge using Sense Moves and counter with Charge Shots. As each one gets frozen, blow them up with Super Missiles before they can recover.
- After destroying enough Metroids, the Queen will grow purple crystals on her head and start breathing fire. Just spam Super/Seeker Missiles on those crystals to blow them up and take her down.
- After taking her down, she'll promptly attack again after a few cutscenes. Here's what's odd: this wonderful game doesn't bother to tell you that you've unlocked Power Bombs at this point, nor how to use them. What you are supposed to do now is first, after the cutscene, shoot the Queen's gut as she lays on the ground with Super Missiles. The Queen will eventually get up and start charging up an energy blast; aim at it in first-person mode and use the Grapple Beam to start a cutscene of Ball Samus slinging herself into the Queen's mouth and down into the Queen's guts. Once you regain control, hold down the fire button while in Ball Samus mode until she drops a Power Bomb, which will kill the Queen for good.
Part 4
- There's still a little bit left to do after killing the Queen Metroid. Follow the female prisoner along the linear path to a massive set of cutscenes.
- Once you regain control of Samus, you'll be in forced first-person mode, and deadly creatures known as "Desbrachians" will rampage around the arena. Shoot them aside with Super Missiles if they get in your way, otherwise, ignore them and concentrate on finding "MB", who is standing in the far-center back end of the room and shoot at her. This should start some cutscenes and end the game.

Metroid: Other M End Credits (Part 33)
Post-Credits Optional Quest
After beating the main game and loading your file, you will restart at the Bottle Ship's hanger and have access to the entire ship. In addition to finding all the objects you missed (they are all now marked on your map), you can begin a bonus side quest at any time, which will lead to an optional final boss and end sequence.
You have access to every room in the Bottle Ship save for the elevator that leads up to the locked door outside Adam's control room; you have to beat the optional boss to open it again, and it will be part of the final sequence of this quest. You also have access to completely new areas of the ship, which you can unlock by finding and destroying the "Desbrachians": super-soldiers that are embedded inside brownish metal cocoons in the walls and can only be awoken by blowing up Power Bombs inside their rooms. Once a Desbrachian is dead, you can use the door he was blocking to access new areas.
Some tips on the Desbrachians: they have ridiculous stamina and immensely damaging attacks, including an air throw that will flatten a jumping Samus. They also can curl up into a ball and regenerate all their health when they are about to die, meaning that unless you use Lethal Strikes or a Super Missile to finish them off when they are near-dead, they will simply heal themselves. That being said, like most enemies, they are still incapable of dealing with Sense Moves or even Super Missile spam; the key to easily beat one is to trigger it with a Power Bomb from nearby, let it awaken first, then pound it with three quick Super Missiles after it finishes the "wake-up" animation. Done. The only one this strategy doesn't work on as well is the very first one as the cutscene of it coming alive will prevent you from blasting it right away.
Getting to the Optional Boss
- From the hanger, follow the linear path through the Main Sector until you encounter and are locked in with your first Desbrachian. Wake him up and waste him with three quick Super Missiles before he can get busy. Note that the elevator that leads to the Main Elevator is locked down for good.
- Enter the new tunnel created by the dead Desbrachian and head into the Bottle Ship Residential Area. Fight your way into an elevator that goes into a new secret area in Sector 0.
- Take the elevator and get ready to kill another Desbrachian in the dead-end ahead. Follow the tunnel he leaves behind back to Nightmare's arena.
- From Nightmare's arena, go through the heavy/reversed gravity rooms back into Sector 2. You can now explore the rest of the Bottle Ship, however, if you want to beat this sidequest, head to the Main Elevator in Sector 2.
- Take the Main Elevator back to the Main Sector hub. Now go south into the Main Sector in the corridor before the locked elevators. There's another Desbrachian here; wake him up and kill him, then enter his door.
- Follow the linear path to the optional boss. One corridor will have you fighting several waves of the major foes you fought in this game, including two Rhedogians. They should all be easy, now that you have Screw Attack, Plasma Beam, Power Bombs, and Super Missiles.
- The linear path eventually ends into a save room, and beyond that the optional boss fight in the Control Bridge.
Phantoon
- He's pretty simple. Just spam Sense Moves and shoot Charge Shots back at the hands he sends out. When they are destroyed, just tap the fire button to auto-aim fire regular Plasma Shots at his eyeball; this will rack up the damage more quickly than Charge Shots or even Super Missiles (as he often throws too much junk at you to make it easy to nail him with Super Missiles).
- Later on in the fight, he will summon more and more hands to attack you, as well create red auras on the floor that will explode underneath Samus' feet; stay away from the latter. Do not also get too close to him or he will smash Samus with a tentacle swipe for huge damage.
Escape Sequence
- Follow the linear path out of Phantoon's room into an elevator. Ride it, and it will eventually jam halfway down the tube; drop a Power Bomb to blow it up and drop down yourself.
- Continue on the linear path down to where you killed your first Desbrachian. You'll be on the upper floor this time, and the door to the control room where Adam was hanging out during the game will finally be unlocked. Enter for a cutscene.
- After the cutscene, you'll now be playing as "Zero Suit Samus". She has VERY limited health and has no access to her armor's powers. She can only shoot a weak gun, use Kick Jumps, and slide under certain obstructions by running against them and pressing the jump button. After becoming Zero Suit Samus, you will need to make your way back to Samus' ship in the hanger in five minutes or you will get a Game Over.
- For the most part, just run away from enemies and make your way back to the ship. Avoid any infernos and watch out when you enter the tight corridors. You will need to slide under closing mesh gates and other obstructions. If a gate closes, you'll have to open it by charging up Samus' gun and shooting it to pop it open, then sliding underneath it before it closes. Check your map HUD carefully for green doors as well as you race to the end.
- If you make it to Samus' ship before time runs out, you will beat the post-game sidequest and unlock more content for the Gallery. If you can beat the post-game sidequest while finding all the items in the game, you will unlock Hard Mode, which sees you beating the game using the bare minimum of items.
Basics:
- Use the D-Pad to move Samus.
- Press 1 to fire your beam. Hold 1 to charge up your shots.
- Press 2 to jump. If you unlocked Space Jump, tap 2 to float in the air.
- Press A to roll into a ball. As a ball, you can jump, set Bombs (press 1 to do so) or set a Power Bomb (hold 1 until the charge meter fills all the way up; you must unlock these first). You can also roll into "ball launchers" and set Bombs inside them to launch Samus.
- Press + to enter your map screen.
- Point the Wiimote at the screen to enter first-person mode.
- Hold B to turn the camera while in first-person; you can also scan objects this way.
- In first-person mode, press A to shoot, and hold A to charge up your shots.
- While locking onto an enemy in first-person mode, press A to shoot a Missile (when unlocked). Hold A to charge it up into a Super Missile (again, when unlocked).
- Tap the D-Pad while in third-person mode and about to get hit by an attack to instantly dodge the attack using a "Sense Move". This move makes it very easy to dodge enemy attacks, plus, it instantly charges up Samus' beam if she was in the middle of charging up when she used a Sense Move. Not every attack can be dodged with Sense Moves, however.
- Jump on an enemy's head to stand on it, and press 1 while doing so to blast the enemy's head with a power shot. This is called an "Overblast". It does not work against every enemy, however. If you jump on any enemy but are too slow to perform the Overblast, the enemy will throw you off for some damage.
- When an enemy is stunned, run up to it and press 1 at close range to smash it with a powerful combo attack called a Lethal Strike. It's usually fatal against normal enemies and does big damage to bosses.

Main Sector
Missile Tanks:
- Basically the "blue dot" tutorial. In the hallway between Adam's control room and the save room, seek and destroy the Geemers until you spot one busting through a panel in the floor. Roll into the open hole left behind and blow up the grate in the duct using a Bomb.
- In the area where you first fight the Sidehoppers; just go a little south and climb up the ledges with Kick Jumps.
- In the first area with the elevator and the U-shaped platforms (just north of the area with the women's bathrooms). Restore power and head to the top floor of that area. Use the console on the top floor to raise platforms on the walls, then find one on the left with a gold-rimmed air duct and roll inside it.
- In the room adjoining the women's restroom, look for a secluded area to the left of the red console (there's desks and papers on the floor). Near the desks is an air vent; shoot it open with a Missile and roll inside into a secret area in the hanger.
- In the room where the Reos made Samus fall down the shaft during the cutscene, look for a grate on the floor and bomb it open. Watch out for Geemers attacking you inside the grate hole.
- There are a pair of open air ducts on either side of the long elevator tube that leads down to the Main Elevator. Jump into the air duct on the left. I believe if you didn't get this before beating the main game, you'll only be able to get it during the escape sequence in the post-game.
- Go directly south from the previously mentioned Missile Tank into the corridor with the Skrees and Reos coming from the chutes in the ceiling. One of the chutes (the northernmost one) has a semi-hidden Reo Nest inside it; destroy it, then try to Kick Jump up the chute to a secret room holding a box. Blast the box open with Bombs.
- You need Speed Booster for this, possibly Space Jump as well. Go to the wrecked elevator room south of the southern save room. Use a Shinespark to jump straight up the bottom of the elevator shaft to a secret nook holding the item.
Energy Tanks:
- A gimmie on your way to the Systems Management Room.
Energy Parts:
- After riding the long elevator tube down to Main Elevator, jump on the U-shaped ledges all the way up to the top, avoiding the enemies. The item is on the topmost ledge.
- Inside the Bottle Ship Residential Area, on top of the TV monitor tower. To get to it, run circles around the tower, building up enough speed so you can Shinespark straight up; once you hit your peak jump, Space Jump like crazy over to the top of the tower where the item is.
Accel Charges:
- You need the Wave Beam for this. Go into the U-shaped platform room with the elevator closest to the area that is a bit north of the woman's bathroom. Atop to the right of the elevator and computer console are glass windows; behind one is a symbol you can Wave Beam Charge Shoot through the glass to hit it, opening a door that lets you inside where the item is.
Sector 1 / Biosphere
Missile Tanks:
- A gimmie as you go around the first Super Missile door you find, via air duct.
- In the same area where you shut down the first Holographic Generator you encounter. After doing so, destroy the first Reo Nest if you haven't already and climb up the metal plates to the item.
- After shutting down the second Holographic Generator, enter the next corridor and observe all the Geemers on the ceiling. Below them is an air duct on the floor with Geemers lurking inside; flush them out and roll in for the item.
- After surviving the falling elevator, cling to the upper right-most ledge and press Up and 2 to roll Samus into a tube holding the item.
- Enter the north corridor that is immediately after getting past the elevator trap; look for open vents on the floor to the right you can roll into to find a box you can bomb for the item.
- In the same corridor as the previous item; you need a Super Missile to blow open the vault door on the left, accessing a secret room.
- In the long, junk block-filled tubes you roll through on your way to the small hole that drops you into the Scrap Block; it's just to the right of the hole in plain sight.
- As soon as you enter the Scrap Block, go into first-person mode and shoot a Missile at the target-able trash piles to the left of the stairs; enter the tube behind the wrecked trash pile.
- Inside the first room of the Biological Experiment Floor (the room that leads to the King Kihunter boss). Look for it on the spiral ramp; you'll need to drop down onto it from above.
- Inside the flooded passage that you ride over using the lift. Look for a plant pod in the water and nuke it with a Missile, then climb into the open tube it leaves behind.
- Inside the flooded passage that you ride over using the lift. You will need Speed Booster and Gravity Suit for this. There's a underwater grate at the far end of the flooded passage you can smash through using the Speed Booster.
- Inside the room with the water level you can raise/lower. Simply roll into the underwater tube on the floor at the southeastern corner.
- North past the massive area with the trees and Holographic Generator (where you first fight a Groganch, those tree-like monsters) is a corridor leading to an elevator shaft. Search the ceiling before go up the shaft; there's a box wedged in the ceiling you can blow up using a Missile, making it drop the item.
- Once you have Speed Booster, go to the room with the plant-covered spiral ramp and race up it at super speed all the way to the top of the ramp. Shinespark straight upwards at the top onto the platform holding the item.
- Go to the corridor north of the room with the plant-covered spiral ramp. There's a plateau in the center of the corridor; sling up on top of with using the Grapple Beam an look for a hole you can bomb into on a steppe just below and to the right of the top of the plateau.
- In the same room you use Space Jump for the first time to cross the downed bridge so you can reach the door that leads to the Bioweapon Research Center. First, lower the bridge using the north console if you raised earlier, so you can jump into the pit below. Inside the pit is an open duct near a floor light that lets you roll to a dead-end near a secret room holding the item. The trick is that that particular duct is a red herring; the real duct you want is a bit south of the first one, on the steps that lead up to the south exit, on the right-hand side near a green floor light.
- Get the Grapple Beam and go to the greenhouse close to the Main Elevator, where you killed the Rhedogian mini-boss and got the Seeker Missile. There's a Grapple Beam in the broken window you can use to sling up to the plants outside, where there's a box you can blow open with Bombs.
- From the previous Missile Tank, climb into the duct right above where you pick up that Missile Tank and follow the duct back a secret cliff in the underground tunnel area. Right above where you'd drop down onto the main path below is a chunk of ceiling you can smash through using a Shinespark. Do so to launch through it up to another secret ledge holding a box you can Bomb open.
- In the corridor with the Holographic Generator you intentionally turn on to expose a cracked wall you can bomb through (directly east of the save point with the wall you blow open). There's a Super Missile vault door directly above the cracked wall you bomb open; blow it open and Space Jump over to the opened vault from the platform holding the Holographic Generator.
- You will need Space Jump for this. Take the north exit from the forest arena with the Holographic Generator, where you first fought a Groganch (go east on the linear path from the Bioweapon Research Center). Follow the corridor until it ends into some steps leading downward; Space Jump to the right from the topmost step into a secret alcove.
- You will need the Wave Beam for this. From the previous Missile Tank, follow the linear path east (over the "double arrow" on your map) until the path takes you into a corridor with a greenhouse behind glass. Look carefully at the glass panes and you should notice that the easternmost pane has a symbol you can Charge Shoot using the Wave Beam. This will open a secret panel that lets you inside the greenhouse where the item sits.
- You will need Speed Booster for this. From the previous Missile Tank, continue on the linear path east into the area with the thick jungle growth where you fought another Groganch, and used the lift to reach the ducts above. If you look around the lefthand walls in this area, you'll notice a small, two-lane "road" of sorts. Run along the road from where it begins in the southern area of this room; you should have long hit superspeed by the time the road ends into a dirt wall, after which Samus will crash through the dirt wall into a secret corridor that leads to the item.
- At some point in the game, likely after beating the main game, the leftmost door from the one where you find the corpse of the scientist Little Birdie killed will be automatically unlocked. You can simply enter this door and Kick Jump up the shaft inside to grab the item sitting by the indoor tree.
- You need Speed Booster and Super Missile for this. Go to the bottom of the dirt slope with the spike brambles east of the room with the plant-covered spiral ramp. If you recall, you first meet Little Birdie here. Hop up the dirt steppes to the right to enter the corridor with the Super Missile vault door you needed to detour around. Blow it down, then go into the next room and look up at the vent shaft above you. You need to Shinespark jump up this shaft into a secret room at the top.
- You need Speed Booster for this. Go into the room that connects to the bottom of the shaft where the instant death elevator trap occurred. There's an open vent in the ceiling; use a Shinespark to jump up it and blast into the room above. Now drop back down the lefthand-side of the vent and slide down until Samus snags the air duct holding the item.
- You need Super Missile, Speed Booster, and Grapple Beam for this one. Go to the dirt slope with the spike brambles that is west of the plant-covered spiral ramp. Destroy the brambles by running into them at superspeed, then run up to the top of the slope, and slide down it. As you slide down, go into first-person view and shoot the vault door in the ceiling with a Super Missile; if you are having trouble doing this, you might want to have Samus slide down from the righthand side. Barring all else, you might also need to get more Accel Charges to be able to charge up in time. Anyway, if you can destroy the vault door, a grapple point will appear; go back up the slope and snag it on your way down to get pulled up to a secret room.
Energy Tanks:
- A gimmie you easily find as you traverse the ducts above the second Groganch you fight on your way to the console that opens the exit door.
Energy Parts:
- After defeating the King Kihunter boss, look for a grate on the floor you can bomb in the next room and roll into the tube. Bomb jump to the upper tube inside and roll to the part you saw sitting inside the wall.
- You need the Grapple Beam for this. Go into the long tube in the Scrap Block where you bomb through falling piles of compressed junk boxes. Look for a junk box embedded in the tube's wall you can bomb through to allow you to roll out to the outside area. You can use the grapple points from there to swing over to the item.
- You need Space Jump for this. Go to the forest arena with the Holographic Generator, where you first took on a Groganch (follow the linear path east of the Bioweapon Research Center). Go to the north exit door and use Space Jump to fly Samus around the obstruction on the right to a ledge with a symbol. Shoot the symbol there on the ledge and use Space Jump to climb on the three platforms that appear out of the wall to reach the item.
- You need Space Jump and the Grapple Beam for this. Go to the corridor north of the room with the plant-covered spiral ramp. Use the Grapple Beam to sling up to the plateau separating the two ends of the corridor. Use the western grapple point to sling Samus to the left, then Space Jump your way around the corner over to a ledge holding a box you can bust open.
- Kill the Desbrachian in the room where you fought the twin Namihes (the wall-worm bosses), and enter his secret room.
E-Recovery Tanks:
- Kill the Desbrachian in the room south of the easternmost save point (the room that connects to the Exam Center area where you fight Little Birdie).
Accel Charges:
- From the save room where Samus must blast open the door next to the save pad, enter through the hole you blast open and follow the path down to a room with a south exit and a bathroom nearby. Enter the bathroom and walk over to the unlocked stall to open it and get the item.
Other Items:
- Diffusion Beam: Dropped by the FG-1000 robots.
- Seeker Missiles: Dropped by the Rhedogian when you kill him for the final time.
Sector 2 / Cryosphere
Missile Tanks:
- From the save room nearest to the Main Elevator, enter the room with the stalagtites and icicles everywhere and look for it underneath a fallen stalagatite (just a bit to the left of the Speed Booster bridge where you get the E-Recovery).
- In the water inside the small water tank room with the first Fumbleye monster.
- In the room where the ice bridge collapses and you fall into the pit with the Gigafraug, take the bottom north exit in the pit and follow the linear path till it leads to an outside snowy area with a stream. As Ball Samus, follow the streams till they end by the north exit door and you will find that the streams drain into a tunnel leading to the item.
- In the garage where you fight your first pair of Dessgeegas in Sector 2. There's a collapsed air duct you can climb into, next to the south exit door leading to the lake you hopscotch using falling stalactites. Do so and roll up the air duct to a secret room in the ceiling.
- In the area with the lakes you cross by hopscotching over falling stalactites, get to the south shore by the south exit door, then look for an underwater hole in the ice ridge right beneath the shoreline. Drop Samus down towards it so that she clings, then climb in and grab it.
- In the corridor where Samus discovers a Gigafraug corpse devoured by a Metroid, freeze the fans on the wall with Charge Shots and climb into their shafts; one of them leads to a secret room with a box you can shoot open using Missiles.
- In the corridor north of the one where Samus finds the Metroid-eaten Gigafraug corpse (the one with the lift and the ice chunks on it's rails), look for a chunk of the pipe on the ceiling you can destroy with Missiles (it's closest to the control booth). This will blow a hole in the pipe Samus can Shinespark up into to get two Missiles.
- See above. There's two Missile Tanks on each end of the large pipe you Shinespark up into.
- In the Water Tank room, climb up to the catwalk on the right-hand side and look for a duct in the lower right Samus can climb into.
- In the Sector Generator Room, climb up the rightmost turbine column all the way to its top, then wait for it to rotate Samus to the ledge closest to the viewer. Jump to it and grab the item a little distance away.
- In the first corridor past the main elevator, look to the right for a vault panel you can blast open with Super Missiles, revealing an air duct holding the item.
- In the area with the reversed-gravity near Sector Zero, make your way to the area where you hop up the series of platforms while upside-down. You will notice a blue-rimmed air duct opening on the wall in this room; from the highest platform, hold upwards on the D-Pad and try to use Space Jump to fly over to it; you should be brushing against the duct's wall as you fly over to it, with the goal of flying Samus over to its rim so that she can grab it and climb into the duct.
- After getting the Gravity Suit, as soon as you return to the high-gravity chambers from Nightmare's lair, look for the grapple point you used to jump to the exit originally and use it to jump into the wall to its left; Kick Jump up the chimney above to a secret room holding the item.
- You need to have triggered the massive instant-death avalanche in the area with the antenna towers. After doing so, return there with the Grapple Beam and use it to swing up to the pile of snow to find a Missile Tank right there in the remains of one of the antenna towers.
- Inside the crate cargo bay where you fought the Ferrocrusher. Use Space Jump from either the top of the stairs by the south entrance or from the crate piles in the main area to fly over to a lone platform high up in the southwest corner of the room; there's an air duct on that platform holding the item.
- Take the upper level south exit from the cargo bay where you fought the Ferrocrusher. In the corridor there is a Super Missile vault panel on the floor you can blast open.
- In the room with the giant cryogenic tubes where you use Shinespark to jump over the gap, you need at least the Wave Beam to kill all the creatures in the giant cryogenic tubes and the Fumbleye monster in the room's center. Killing all the monsters starts a cutscene and opens up a secret panel holding the item.
- You will likely need Space Jump for this. Go to the corridor where you unlocked Speed Booster. Run up the slippery slope you need Speed Booster to climb up, then at the top, turn around and Space Jump back the way you came to a ledge high above the slope.
Energy Tanks:
- In the room where you kill your first Gigafraug and use Shinespark to cross over where the bridge from before fell. It's on a ledge above where you fought him and you will need to drop down onto it from the ledge with the north doorway above it leading to the save room.
- From the room where you unlock the Wave Beam, go left at the t-junction and kill the Volfons in the icy valley. Afterward, getting a running start and run towards the collapse piping on the hill ahead and time a vertical Shinespark jump right when Samus is about to hit it. She should fly up into the air and land on a tower above. Roll into the hole in the tower and use the ball launcher in it to launch to an area with mesh fencing. Make your way to an exit tube that drops you off at a second tower. Use the ball launcher in the second tower to launch you into another fencing maze. Make your way through the maze to another exit tube that leads to a room with an Energy Tank.
Energy Parts:
- In the room with the giant cryogenic tubes where you use Shinespark to jump over the gap, drop down into the pit and blast all three of the grates at the bottom to reveal a hole each. One of them holds the item.
- In the room where you fought the Ferrocrusher. You need to get by the north exit door and use Space Jump to fly over to the crate piles. There's tool boxes on top of several of the crates there; shoot them all and one of them will have this.
- Kill the Desbrachian in the wall-lift room near the Sector 0 entrance, then go into the secret area he was guarding.
- Kill the Desbrachian in the room with the row of four cryogenic tubes you drained to shoot a Wave Beam symbol, then enter his secret room. Quickest way to it is go to the Main Elevator room, then look to the left for a tube in the wall you can Space Jump into.
E-Recovery Tanks:
- Right after you unlock the Speed Booster, run like crazy until Samus finally crashes into this item in a dead-end.
- It's in plain sight in a cubbyhole in the high-gravity chambers; you'll be able to jump to it on your return trip after having unlocked the Gravity Suit.
Accel Charges:
- Search the area around the body of the Federation Trooper you will eventually find in the snow drifts outside the building where you fought the Ferrocrusher. There's a rocky snow mound you can target with Missiles; blow it up to reveal the item.
Sector 3 / Pryosphere
Missile Tanks:
- In the area outside the first save room, shoot the middle of the ramp leading down to the west door with a Super Missile.
- In the control room where you fight your first Asborean. Simply roll underneath the stairs in the center of the room.
- From the previous Missile Tank, go west into the adjoining corridor and climb into the open vent on the right-side wall.
- Inside the Desert Refinery. After using the Shinespark to jump to an air duct outside one of the silos, you will roll inside and follow the duct to a fork that wraps around an octagonal structure. Go right at the fork into a dead-end within the duct, where the item sits.
- After defeating the Rhedogian in the Desert Refinery, you will ride the elevator in the room down to a sandy cavern with three grapple points you use to cross a lava pit with Magmolites. It's in a nook in the wall below the third grapple point, above the lava pit.
- From the previous item, continue north into a corridor that drops you down into another sandy tunnel, this one with flame jets. Observe the flame jets on the left in first-person view and you'll find that you can target one and destroy it, revealing the item
- After beating Ridley, you will blow open your first Super Missile vault door and drop down into a shaft with a pool of lava at the bottom. Just above the lava below is an air duct you can slip into holding the item.
- You will need Space Jump for this. From the save room just east of the massive lava cavern, roll under the blast door into the shaft and drop down to the lava pit below; use Space Jump to fly across the lava pool to the ledge holding the item.
- From the previous item, continue up the shaft and going to the left until you spot a vault door in the ceiling of the next shaft you can blow open with a Super Missile. Do so to get access to another item.
- You will need Power Bombs for this. Enter the giant lava cavern from the west via the long corridor that connects it to the westernmost save room. Make your way to the east until Samus reaches the item's location as marked on the map after beating the main game. Look around in first-person view and you will find you can blow up one of the rocks here with Power Bombs; do so to reveal the item.
- Go to the westernmost save room on the map and head into the room south. The item is in this room, on a ledge to the right high above. You will need to Shinespark up to it by getting enough momentum from the glass tube tunnel south of the room (with the robots firing purple beams through the walls).
- You need at least the Wave Beam. Go to the tube the Vorash wrecked trying to bite you when you first entered Sector 3 (fastest way there is to enter the giant lava cavern from the westernmost save room). Once there, enter the tube and go to the destroyed section, then enter first-person view and search the cliffs south of the tube (towards the player's camera in third-person mode). There will be a symbol on one of the cliffs you can Wave Beam Charge Shoot to open a nearby hole in the tube's flooring you can roll into to get the item.
- Kill the Desbrachian in the room east of the Main Elevator (where you save Higgs from the Rhedogian). Go into the secret room he grants access to.
Energy Tanks:
- In plain sight inside where you first enter the Geothermal Power Plant.
Energy Parts:
- In the area outside the first save room, climb into the cubbyhole with the fireflies and roll into the tube there. Follow the tube to the item.
- In the room with the glass floor you break open to drop down into the volcano holding the Goygama, there are two ducts on the floor; one on the left that leads you into the hole, and one on the right that leads to the item.
- In the area with the Magmollites and lava pits with grapple points, east of the save room nearest to where you rescued Anthony Higgs from the Rhedogian. Make your way to the very east end of the room and drop off the southside edge of the platform there; there's a secret tunnel there you can slip into to get the item.
- In the room where you save Anthony from the Rhedogian, blast the Super Missile vault door next to the door that leads to the nearby save room. Beyond the vault door is a terminal you can activate that will open a secret chamber in the room and grapple points that let you reach it.
- Enter the massive lava cavern from the east save room and run forward until you have to hop over a small ridge located near a grapple point. On the other side of that ridge is a hard-to-spot hole in its side you can roll into; do so to find the item inside (bomb through the cage to reach it).
Accel Charges:
- After destroying the very first Mella Nest you find (same room you unlock the Ice Beam in), blast the pad on the floor closest to where it was if you haven't already, and use the ball launcher to get launched into a secret room in the ceiling.
- From where you get Energy Tank #1 inside the Geothermal Power Plant, use the grapple point almost right above it to swing over to this item.
- There's a hard-to-find Desbrachian near the giant lava cavern that you must kill to reach this. He is west of the tube the Vorash bit through when you first entered Sector 3. To get to it, make your way across the linear path east going from the westernmost save room. Cross the lava cavern and follow the path there up to the tube the Vorash destroyed. Use the grapple point to cross over the wreckage and kill the Desbrachian you finally find at the dead end.
Bioweapon Research Center
Missile Tanks:
- In the computer room before the elevator (Samus finds a Federation Trooper's corpse in this room on her way to the final boss battles). Go up the stairs in this room to the unlocked door on the catwalk above. The item is in plain sight inside, however, after you grab it, you'll have to battle with over a dozen Super Zebesians before you can escape.
- From the elevator, take it to the west section and enter the next corridor. Go up the stairs there and into the door on the left up top. Follow the linear path until you end up in a spacious room with a central column that has four holographic panels on it. Actually, the trick is there are only THREE panels on the supercomputer; the fourth panel is missing, though it's impossible to tell as it's the panel that is behind the column, out of view from the camera. Have Samus jump into the column through the missing panel and Samus will be standing inside the column itself. Now Kick Jump straight upwards and you'll end up in a shaft you can follow to the item.
- From Missile Tank #2, go down the stairs some steps south of the central column with the holographic panels into some sort of command room and search the rows of computer stations to the right. In the middle of the rows are three blue octagon floor tiles; shoot the middle one with a Missile.
