  • Metal Slug Anthology is an action/platformer video game created by SNK Playmore USA. The title brings together seven popular Metal Slug titles from the past and packages them into one CD. The games included in Metal Slug Anthology are: Metal Slug, Metal Slug 2, Metal Slug 3, Metal Slug 4, Metal Slug 5, Metal Slug 6 and Metal Slug X. Similarly to other Metal Slug games, players navigate through several native lands fending off monsters, opposing army militants and extra-large, missile-carrying machines. The game is rated T for Teen, for the games' signature brand of graphic violence in form of blood and explosions.
  • Story

Most of the games in the series involve the Peregrine Falcon Squad, a small group of soldiers that try to stop the army of General Donald Morden, who is striving to create a New World Order. In several games in the series, the P.F. Squad not only deals with Morden's army, but a race of aliens known as the Mars People.

  • Gameplay

The gameplay is similar to the Contra series, in which players try to eliminate all of the enemies standing in their way in a side-scrolling affair. Players are armed with a regular gun and can earn power-ups along the way, including a blow torch, machine gun, shot gun and rocket launcher. Also, players can enter all-terrain vehicles, submarines and tanks that can eliminate enemies. The Wii version of the game utilizes the Wii Remote, offering five different control schemes.
