• Collect the five Hidden Dolls in Guns of the Patriots to access the Solar Gun after the completion of the first playthrough. The five hidden dolls are obtained through use of non-lethal attacks in the defeat of specific bosses, four of whom are referred to as "The Beauty and the Beasts." Once all five dolls have been obtained, the Solar Gun will be awarded upon completion of the game, after the final credits.

  The Solar Gun causes enemies to drop weapons and items, and causes extreme damage to Vamp. Fully charge with L1 prior to firing, and it will render enemy soldiers unconscious. The Solar Gun's battery must be recharged outdoors, in direct sunlight, by holding the Circle button.

     • When: Act 1
     • How: Defeat Haven Troopers without killing a single soldier
     • Where: Middle East Advent Palace garage area
  2. Laughing Octopus Doll
     • When: Act 2
     • How: Defeat Laughing Octopus using all non-lethal attacks in the boss fight
     • Where: Retrieve the doll from the bed in a room on the top right of the map area before the scene-switch to the "white room" scenario in which you fight Laughing Beauty.
  3. Raging Raven Doll
     • When: Act 3
     • How: Defeat Raging Raven in the boss fight using non-lethal attacks, i.e., the Mosin-Nagant
     • Where: Top floor
  4. Crying Wolf Doll
     • When: Act 4
     • How: Defeat Crying Wolf in the boss fight using non-lethal attacks
     • Where: Behind the Snowfield encounter start point
  5. Screaming Mantis Doll
     • When: Act 5
     • How: Defeat Screaming Mantis in the boss fight using non-lethal attacks
     • Where: Outside the door to the north before the fight with Screaming Beauty
